For sale is a 2007 GMC Yukon XL Denali. I am the second owner of this vehicle and I have owned it since Oct 2009.
89600 original miles. It has been a great vehicle for me but I don't use it that much. Features include:
-Vortec 6.2L V-8 motor
-6-speed automatic transmission
-All wheel drive
-4-wheel disc brakes.
-20" chrome rims
-Remote starter
-Power locks and windows
-Heated leather seating (Front and second row seats)
-Back up camera
-Running boards
-Towing package
-Power lift gate
This Denali has the split 60-40 second row power release seats. No captain's chairs. Fits one more passenger.
Removable 3rd row seats.
It has the Navigation system with AM/FM CD MP3. The CD player does not work. The nav system works but it could use
a new nav CD. I still have the original one. Premium Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound acoustic system.
The previous owner installed a headrest DVD entertainment system. It works well but the DVD player on the passenger
side will not play back DVD's. The driver's side works ok and will play on both monitors.
The tires were replaced in July 2014. Probably less than 5000 mi on them. New rear brake pads and rotors installed
May 2016.
The Denali has a few issues that I would like to point out:
-The self-leveling rear shock system is not working. The compressor is out and the shocks need to be replaced.
-There is a scrape/dent on the front passenger side of the bumper. (Some idiot hit me in a parking lot - see photo)
-The side impact strips on the passenger side have come off. I still have the parts but I have not had time to put
them back on.
-The chrome is peeling on the front passenger inside door handle.
-The button to release the rear gate glass has come out. I still have the button but the seal that holds it in
needs to be replaced. The glass will still release by pushing the button on the key fob.
-There are two cracks in the dash.
-The passenger mirror is loose, possibly bad retraction mechanism.
The Denali is located in Marble Falls, Central Texas. Clear Texas title. Current Texas registration and inspection
good through Oct, 2016. I will be happy to answer any questions and provide more photos. Thank you for looking and
best regards. Chris.

GMC Hummer EV could have had the Chevrolet Avalanche's Midgate

Tue, Nov 3 2020

One of the many rumors swirling around the GMC Hummer EV claimed the truck would resurrect the Midgate inaugurated by the original Chevrolet Avalanche. Although we now know there's no way to fully knock down the partition between the cab and the cargo box, the firm revealed the rumor wasn't entirely false. "There was [a Midgate] early on. We opted for the functionality of the drop glass in the back. With the package layout and things like that, it was not advantageous to pursue that one. And, the five-foot bed was kind of the industry standard in regards to price of entry in that segment," explained John Mack, the Hummer's exterior design management, during an interview with Muscle Car & Trucks. The Hummer will go on sale with a five-foot box, and it doesn't sound like a longer bed will be available, so a modern version of the Midgate would have made the model more versatile by giving users the ability to fold down the partition behind the rear seats to carry bulky items, like plywood and ATVs. It's a feature that would have inevitably made the truck more complicated to build, however, because it adds moving parts that need to be sealed. Hinges, seals, and latches in turn add weight, and complexity almost always invites high manufacturing costs. As an electric pickup built with newly-developed components, the Hummer already has enough of each. Motorists who need to carry something that's significantly longer than the cargo box aren't entirely out of luck. As Mack pointed out, the rear window drops into the partition, so owners will have the ability to haul surfboards, lumber, or anything else that's relatively long and reasonably thin by simply pushing a switch. Alternatively, the only thing limiting cargo space when the roof comes off is the sky — or, depending on where you live, bridges. Mack didn't reveal when the Midgate was dropped. GMC launched the Hummer project in April 2019, and it previously released early design sketches that show how the truck transitioned from a sketch to a prototype. As of writing, nothing suggests the Midgate will make a comeback in the near future on any member of the General Motors portfolio. It was introduced in 2001 on the first-generation Chevrolet Avalanche, which went on sale in the United States for the 2002 model year. It later spread to Cadillac's luxed-up variant of the truck, the Escalade EXT, and to the short-lived GMC Envoy XUV.

2015 GMC Canyon Nightfall Edition rumbles in under the radar

Tue, Jan 13 2015

Buyers enticed by the new 2015 GMC Canyon will want to take a look at the new Nightfall Edition. Unveiled here on the floor of the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the Nightfall is based on the mid-level SLE trim level in four-door crew cab bodystyle, but upgrades with a stealthy appearance and bundled extras. It's decked out in Onyx Black paint, for starters, but also has a blacked-out grille and side steps, a spray-in bedliner and 18-inch wheels with darkened inserts, as well as a polished exhaust tip, remote start and automatic climate control fitted as standard. The only choice left up to the buyer of this murdered-out mid-size pickup is whether to get it in 2WD or 4WD. Either way, motivation is provided by the Canyon's 3.6-liter V6 with its 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. Pricing has yet to be announced, but considering that the SLE on which it's based starts at $30,980 and that the SLT comes in at $34,345, we'd expect the Nightfall to be positioned in the low 30s, with another few grand for four-wheel drive. GM planning to put its fullsize pickups on a big diet, too

Fri, 19 Jul 2013

General Motors is just coming off a complete redesign of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra for 2014, but in the US fullsize truck market, there is no rest for the weary. According to Reuters, plans are already unfurling for both trucks to drop pounds from their curb weight over the next few years, but this will unlikely be able to keep pace with the 700-pound diet targeted for the next-generation Ford F-150, a truck expected to debut late next year.
The biggest weight reduction for these trucks might not be available until the next full redesign, which will likely happen around 2019, but the article says that smaller updates could shave pounds in the meantime. Two examples given include an "aluminum-intensive" version of the Silverado that could shed 250 pounds and debut around the same time as the lighter-weight, aluminum-bodied 2015 Ford, and there is also talk of reducing weight for driveline components such as axles and driveshafts. These changes are all part of an attempt to meet strict new fuel economy standards coming in 2017, targets which will get even tougher in 2025.
