Amazing 1986 GMC Suburban I bought from the original owner. Had it a while now and time to sell. Trying to buy an older car. This thing is amazing for it's age. You'd swear it was 1986 again! So original and clean. Garaged it's whole life and impeccably maintained. Two wheel drive. Power steering, handles great, like a caddy. Original paint, interior, etc. Hard to believe. 126k miles. Runs very well. Would use some oil over time but I replaced some valve seals and seemed to help that. Runs great, shifts great, I have driven it to a few different states and has run like a champ. I just put in a new radiator, old was leaking, (didnt overheat or anything.) I put in a heavy duty one with an extra row, runs cooler than it did before and it was always just fine. Automatic with overdrive. 350 with a four barrel. 17mpg on freeway when I checked after first buying it. Couple small tears in cargo mat, couple small scuffs, etc. on fabric seats. NO tears or anything. Some wear to floor mats, headliner is loosening up in a couple spots, couple small dings in tailgate, and one on passenger mirror. Has a tow hitch, tows fine. Everything works, everything! Cruise control, AC blows cold, heater, etc. Has a tape deck with a small speaker or two under dash, sounds horrible, so much treble, it will take you 20 seconds to finally realize its Led Zeppelin and not something else. Tires are fair. Passed smog fine when I bought it less than a year ago. Bumpers are perfect and cherry, no rust on this thing either. Dash pad is mint, no leaks on my concrete driveway, has crank windows. Rear key lock on tailgate does not lock well. Tried it once and it took forever to get my key back out. I never worry about it as noone ever seems to know how to operate the rear handle anyway. Would not hesitate to drive this wherever. I say that in truth. If there is anything wrong with this truck I don't know what it is, it is however used and anything can happen so understand you are buying a used vehicle. I am being as honest and faithful a description as I can . All glass good. Rear window rolls up and down fine. Rear seats fold down for about 8 feet of cargo space. a 4x8 sheet of plywood fits in fine. The motor compartment is even cherry, with all the dealer stickers etc. I almost hate to see this thing go. If you are looking for a suburban size vehicle on a budget that you can trust, this is it. Please call or email with any questions. Or come look too if you would like. I am an hour north of Hollywood, 45 mins south of Bakersfield, in Lebec, CA. Joey Dillon 209 606 2869. If you have less than 2 feedbacks, call me before bidding. If you bid before calling, I will cancel your bid. Also, if a bidder bids on this and fails to pay, I will contact the next highest bidder. Please reply, even if you decided to not purchase the car from me, its common courtesy when spoken to to reply, even on an email.

GM issues stop-delivery for 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon
Fri, 03 Oct 2014General Motors is issuing a stop-delivery order for its latest midsize pickups, the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, because the driver's side airbag might not be wired correctly. The total number of vehicles affected is still being determined.
According to the statement from GM, the problem, "affects the vehicles' two-stage airbag system by reversing the deployment sequence and disrupting the deployment timing of the driver airbag stages." That means in an accident the bag may not work correctly.
Most of the affected trucks are still on the assembly line, in transit or unsold at dealers, says GM. Until a way to repair the problem is found, customer deliveries are stopped. However, "a small number" of them are in the possession of buyers. GM is contacting these people by phone and by FedEx letter to have the vehicles returned to dealers. In the meantime, they'll be given a loaner to drive.
Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Toyota Tundra flunk IIHS headlight test
Tue, Oct 25 2016The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety put pickup truck headlights to the test and found that the majority of them were equipped with subpar units. The 2017 Honda Ridgeline was the only truck to earn a rating of "good." The large pickup truck test was comprised of the: 2016 to 2017 GMC Sierra, 2017 Nissan Titan, 2016 Ram 1500, 2016 to 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, 2016 to 2017 Ford F-150, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tundra. The Sierra's headlights earned a rating of "acceptable," the headlights found on the Titan and Ram 1500 were found to be "marginal," and the ones on the Silverado, F-150, and Tundra were rated as "poor." IIHS claims the F-150 was the most disappointing out of the large pickup trucks as both its halogen and optional LED headlights failed to provide adequate visibility during testing. The Ridgeline (which earned a "good rating"), is usually considered a midsize or small truck, though IIHS included it in the field of large pickups. The headlights on the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, 2016 GMC Canyon, 2016 Nissan Frontier, and 2016 to 2017 Toyota Tacoma, which made up the small pickup truck group, all earned a rating of "poor." The IIHS claimed the Colorado had the worst headlights of any truck that was tested, as the base vehicle's units were only able to illuminate up to 123 feet in front of the car. The Ridgeline's headlights, for reference, were able to illuminate up to 358 feet in front of the vehicle. To conduct its test, the IIHS utilizes a special tool to measure how far light is projected out of the headlights in different driving situations. The trucks' headlights were tested in a straight line and in corners, while vehicles with high-beam assist were given extra praise. The headlights on the pickup trucks also mimic the testing that was done on small SUVs and cars earlier this year. Next year, automakers will need to fit their vehicles with headlights that earn a rating of either good or acceptable to earn the IIHS Top Safety Pick+. Related Video:
GM crab walked the Hummer EV truck up and down Woodward this weekend
Mon, Aug 23 2021Sometimes, manufacturers like to show off their fancy new wares at the Woodward Dream Cruise. It’s largely done through static showcases with big displays for the public to gawk at. However, GM did something a little different with its GMC Hummer EV truck this year. Instead of parking it at the Chevy and GM display area, it took to Woodward Avenue itself to show off the Hummer in pre-production form. Not only did GM drive the electric truck on the road in front of thousands, but it crab walked the whole way. This was our first time, and probably most of the publicÂ’s first time seeing the Hummer EV crab mode in person. Judging from the crowdÂ’s reaction (GM got its wish of everybody paying attention), folks are impressed, and maybe a bit confused at the HummerÂ’s sideways movements. ItÂ’s a strange spectacle to see in person. At first, the truck appears as though itÂ’s sliding sideways on ice in a smooth, graceful slide. ThatÂ’s because even though the wheels are turned, the front of the truck is still pointing dead straight ahead. The GM employee behind the wheel of the prototype appeared to be moving forward at about 5-10 mph — it appears shockingly quick in person for the way this behemoth of a truck presents itself. The tech making it work is rather simple in concept. GM simply took existing rear-wheel steering technology, then amplified and modified it for this type of movement. Whereas most cars with rear-wheel steering max out at around 5 degrees of lock with the rear wheels, this Hummer can turn the wheels up to 10 degrees. Turn the wheel left or right in crab mode, and the Hummer moves diagonally down the street. If you use it for its intended purpose, crab mode is meant to help you navigate the Hummer through trails it might otherwise be too big to fit through using regular steering. In reality, we suspect most folks might use crab mode in the exact same fashion as GM did this past weekend: to impress people. And honestly, we canÂ’t blame them. It was a seriously cool sight to see. Crab mode in action: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
