Really straight, completely rust-free 1997 GMC Suburban 1500 with 151k miles.  Push-button 4x4 works great.  350 Vortec runs great.  Transmission shifts great.  Brakes seem good. Goes down the road straight.  Front and rear heat work great; was told by the prior owner the a/c needs to be charged, but I have not tried it.  I got approximately 532 miles of primarily in-town driving out of the 38-gallon gas tank (about 14 mpg).  Prior owner indicated he bought the vehicle with 70k, and drove back and forth to Colorado for skiing.  Also indicated the transmission was rebuilt while he had it.  Locking ski rack; key comes with it.

I bought this as a winter cruiser to save miles on my diesel.  The third-row of seats pulls out easily, so I plan to use it for fishing/camping/canoeing this summer if I don't sell it.   You can easily haul 10-foot lumber inside and out of the elements by pulling out the third-row and laying down the middle row of seats.  I currently drive it 20 miles back and forth to work every day, and would not hesitate to head east or west on the interstate with it.  I have put almost 1,000 miles on it of trouble free, comfortable (and safe) driving.

Obviously, it's a used vehicle, so there are a few issues:

1.  Check engine light has been on forever according to the prior owner.  Could be a sensor.  He finally quit having the part stores reset it.  I have not run a code to see what it is; I honestly don't care because it runs so well.

2.  Gray leather seats are kind of cracked, as one can expect from 1990's GM leather seats.

3.  Carpets could be cleaned.  Typical family stains I guess.

4.  It needs tires.

Firm on reserve; will not dicker on that.  This rig is too nice of an old rig.  Will not ship or deliver.  As Is, Where Is, in Billings, Montana.  I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time.  There is no warranty associated with this used vehicle of any kind.  No scams please.  Clean and clear Montana title in hand.

GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect

Tue, 17 Aug 2010

2010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.

Ward's releases 10 Best Interiors list for 2014

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

While we're still a ways off from the automotive awards season proper, where things like North American Car and Truck of the Year, Motor Trend's Car of the Year and Car and Driver's Ten Best are named, that doesn't mean there aren't trophies being handed out to deserving automakers. Ward's 10 Best Interiors being one of them.
As the name might imply, the magazine focuses on the very best interior treatments in the US market. Whereas some awards purposely exclude extreme, high-dollar offerings, Ward's considers them - the only requirement is that a vehicle has a "new or significantly redesigned interior."
Ward's offered up the list of winners in simple, alphabetical order, and it only seems fair to do the same:
