I hate to do it, but I am putting up my extremely clean 97 suburban for sale. I have always been a fan of this body style and jumped on this one when I first found it. My wife and I just had another child and I just can't justify this this vehicle setting in the garage all of the time not getting used. This was an extra vehicle it's whole life and it shows. The interior is flawless, the exterior is near perfect as well. there is one small ding on the passenger door and some small scratches that can be buffed out if desired. The paint shines like new and the suburban rides like new, the door seals are all great and the ride is super quite. The cruise control works great and all of the controls and switches even look new. This thing was babied!
The maintenance has been done. The usual transmission has been replaced within the last 5000 miles. The shocks are new, along with the tires. Both differentials have been checked and new fluids swapped along with the tranny and transfer case. The push button 4 wheel drive works awesome! Front and rear heat and air works flawlessly as well and the engine compartment looks like it did when rolled off the assembly line. The only bad thing about this suburban is that the previous owner hit a deer at low speed and it cracked the chrome grille surround on the front grille. You will be hard pressed to find one as nice, 141,996 miles and and a whole lot left in her. Please feel free to fly in and drive home, no problem. GM 6.2L EcoTec V8 rated at 21 mpg by the EPA
Wed, 02 Oct 2013General Motors is already laying claim to best-in-class power for its new 6.2-liter V8 that will be offered in the 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra this fall, and now it has released fuel economy numbers for the big engine. Available as an option on the Silverado LTZ and High Country (shown above) models as well as the the Sierra SLT and Denali trims, the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 will return 15 miles per gallon in the city and 21 mpg on the highway on rear-wheel-drive trucks; these numbers drop by one mpg each on four-wheel-drive models.
These estimates are in addition to the engine's 420 horsepower, 460 pound-feet of torque and max trailering capacity of 12,000 pounds, and considering all that power it's not terribly far away from the fuel economy of GM's equally new 4.3-liter V6 and its rating of 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. This announcement comes just days after a report indicated that GM is unable to keep up with the demand of the 5.3-liter V8 in the fullsize Chevy and GMC trucks due to supplier issues. 2019 GMC Sierra spied sporting just a thin wrapping
Mon, Nov 6 2017A new Chevy Silverado is on the way, and along with that comes it's fraternal twin, the GMC Sierra. We've seen spy shots before, but, like the Silverado we saw a few days ago, this is our best look yet. Nearly all of the loose-fitting camouflage has been removed, giving us a decent view of the bodywork. A brief look shows that the Sierra and Silverado will have significant styling differences for this generation. In the past, GMC trucks have been little more than rebadged Chevrolets. That's been changing in recent years, and the divide seems to be growing larger. The grille looks much larger than the Silverado's and there appears to be a small inlet right where the hood meets the front. From the side, we can see that the two trucks have different fenders and beds. The wheel wells on the GMC are squared off at the rear. Compare that to the round wells on the Chevy. Out back, the design is far more similar. Both trucks appear to have rear-facing exhaust outlets. The taillights, too, look to have close to the same shape. A big bulge in the center of the tailgate likely hides a large GMC badge. We still don't have a firm reveal date, but look for some further news this auto show season. Related Video:
GM pushing back on proposed pickup and SUV brake recall [w/poll]
Tue, 08 Jul 2014Through the first six months of 2014, General Motors has recalled 29 million cars and trucks in 54 different actions. If your author's notoriously sketchy math is correct, that'd work out to one recall every 3.5 days (as of this writing). GM is actively fighting to make sure there isn't a 55th recall, though.
Safety critics, including perennial nemesis Clarence Ditlow of the Center for Auto Safety, are calling on GM to recall a further six million pickup trucks and SUVs in northerly climes due to corroding brake lines caused by the use of road salt. There is a catch, here, though - the vehicles in question are over 10 years old, and include the 1999 to 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban and GMC Sierra, as well as the 2000 to 2003 Tahoe and Yukon (shown above).
