Vehicle Relisted, was in the wrong category:

Up for auction is my 1994 GMC K2500 6.5L Diesel Suburban. I bought this suburban about 3 years ago from Minneapolis. It fits 8 with

the two front bucket seats and the (2) rear 3 passenger benches. This truck is in very good condition and has been very well

maintained. It has been one of my favorite vehicles. Unstoppable in the snow, and able to tow anything I've asked it to. All while

getting 15mpg around town and 20mpg+ on the highway. At 153.5k, this diesel has a long life ahead of it.

Since I bought it I have done the following:

Maintenance / Repairs

- 4 New Michelin LTX M/S2 Tires (about 5k miles on them)
- 2 New Interstate Batteries
- 8 New Bosch Injectors
- New SSDiesel Stainless Turbo-Back 4" Exhaust
- 4 New Shocks
- New SSDiesel Performance Intake
- New SSDiesel High Output Alternator
- New Thermostat/gasket
- New Drive Belt
- New Vaccuum hoses
- New Vaccuum pump
- New Headlight Switch
- New 4x4 Actuator
- New Intake gasket
- Autometer gauges on the A Pillar (Pyrometer + Boost)
- Tranny temp below steering wheel

Oil has been changed every 3k with Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Synthetic Oil, which meets the diesel oil requirements for this truck.

I'll try to mention everything a new owner would want to know that needs attention, but I'm sure there could be some things I missed.

Body:

The truck is 20 years old now, so there are the expected minor scratches chips in the paint. The clear coat on the roof and hood has

started to peel and could use some attention. The front plastic grill is slightly cracked from my knee while I was working under the

hood. The body/frame has ZERO RUST with the exception of the cheap aftermarket running boards put on by the previous owner, which can

be easily removed (6 bolts).

Inside:

There are some stains on the seats inside, but nothing too bad. They would all probably come out with some carpet cleaner. The floors

are all covered with all-weather mats. There looks to be a small burn in the 3rd seat in the rear from the previous owner. All the

power windows work, but the drivers window controls for the passenger seats probably needs to be replaced. All the windows open and

close from their respective seats though. The rear latch window will open if you have somebody standing there to pull it, but it won't

open on its own from pulling the switch.

Mechanical:

To my knowledge, there are no mechanical issues with the truck. It runs great, lots of power. Heat and AC work, 4x4 works. There is a

minor oil leak from the drivers side valve cover gasket (easily replaced). The tranny pan gasket also seems to have a slight drip. I

was going to replace it with a high capacity pan and change the gasket but I didn't get to it yet. The front brake pads still have

some meat on them, but I was thinking I would probably replace them this summer.

I'm confident that the vehicle could be driven home to anywhere without worry. Good luck bidding and please let me know of any

questions BEFORE bidding.

On Apr-20-13 at 16:50:45 PDT, seller added the following information:

Note to all bidders:

I realize that I posted this item in the wrong category.... GMC:OTHER instead of GMC:Suburbans. I'm going to cancel this auction and relist it in GMC:Suburbans at the current auction price.

Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017

Tue, Feb 17 2015

Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).

2019 GMC Sierra shows off new headlights in Los Angeles

Mon, Jan 22 2018

Despite being just three weeks in to 2018, it's not too early to dub this the year of the truck. At last week's Detroit Auto Show, we saw the debuts of the 2019 Chevy Silverado, 2019 Ram 1500 and the return of the 2019 Ford Ranger. As with every new Silverado, a sister vehicle follows from GMC. Just take a look at these new spy shots of the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. These photos were taken out in Los Angeles, presumably for some warm weather testing outside of Michigan. At the Silverado's debut, GM VP Mark Reuss said there would be a significant difference between the Silverado and Sierra with this new generation. The grille on the Sierra appears to be far more upright and rectangular, contrasting the rounded look of the new Silverado. The headlights are larger and more upright. The same goes for the foglights. The profile and rear look fairly similar, though the fenders on the Sierra are more squared off. While we don't know what will rest under the Sierra's hood, expect it to share powertrains with the Silverado. That would mean updated versions of the 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 would be joined by 3.0-liter inline-six diesel. Look for the new Sierra as soon as the Chicago Auto Show next month. GMC Envoy could be returning as GM files for 'Envoy' trademark

Thu, Dec 27 2018

The GMC Envoy could be on its way back, if a recent GM trademark filing is any indication of the future. To be exact, GM's trademark filing is for the name "Envoy," and is applicable to "motor vehicles, namely, sport utility vehicles, engines therefor and structural parts thereof." A victim of the recession and high gas prices, the original Envoy – related to the Blazer, and more recently the TrailBlazer and similar GM SUVs – was discontinued after the 2009 model year. In today's SUV-happy market of low gas prices, unearthing the somewhat familiar Envoy name makes a certain amount of sense. As soon as gas prices start trending in the other direction, we'll all be saying the opposite, though. What this SUV will take shape as is the big question now. With the Chevrolet Blazer well and truly on its way, there's every reason for a GMC version of Chevy's stylish new crossover sporting the Envoy name. Another, less likely, possibility is a Traverse-sized vehicle to slot between the shorter Acadia (10 inches shorter than the Chevy Traverse) and the body-on-frame Yukon. GM could come out of left field and make the Envoy a Buick too. It fits the bill with the "En" beginning, and Buick undoubtedly has crossovers in the works. We think that's even more unlikely, but it's important to remember that we're still in the speculation phase. Soon we'll drive Chevy's new Blazer, and perhaps have more news then. Check in next week for that. Related video:
