V8 2002 Gmc Sonoma Sl Extended Cab Pickup on 2040-cars

Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States

For sale is my V8 2002 GMC Sonoma . The truck had 250k miles on it before I pulled the engine (originally had a 2.2l 4-cylinder) and transmission to put in the small block chevy V8 and new transmission. The transmission is a New Venture NV3500 5-speed manual transmission. It has a high performance Zoom 10.5" clutch with a Zoom 153-tooth flywheel. It has an HEI distributor on it. It has a serpentine belt accessory drive from a v6 s10 but has the stock 4-cylinder alternator and no ac compressor (the bracket is empty and has an ac delete pulley on it, I have the ac condenser but it is not installed). It has Hedman S10 V8 shorty headers on it and V8 S10 2.5" dual exhaust from Jegs. It has a Hitachi style Summit Racing Mini High-Torque 1.6 hp starter. Stock 4.10 rear end. It has a full size spare but needs new tires all the way around. It has stock suspension all the way around. It has a mid-1990's Corvette radiator and two electric fans on it. It has a push button start but requires the key to unlock the steering and turn on the accessories. It doesn't have a dash or stereo and needs a throw out bearing which I already have. Here are the details on the engine, which runs a little more than 10:1 compression.
Cam - Duntov 30/30 solid lifter cam - Used in 302 Camaros and early LT1 350's - 0.488" lift
Carb - Holley 650 double pumper spreadbore with vacuum secondaries
Heads - Vortec 350 with hard valve seat inserts - they have been mildly ported to remove and burrs and sharp edges
Block - 1974 two bolt main bored 0.040"
Intake - Edlebrock Performer dual plane
Stock reground 350 crank
Double roller timing chain
High volume Melling oil pump

Desktop Dyno says it has around 350 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque. Fun truck to drive, but I am a full time student, work part time, just moved into a new apartment which doesn't allow me to work on my truck, and my wife is pregnant with our second child so I have other more important priorities that need tending to.

GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern

Mon, 21 Jan 2013

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. The recall goes into effect on January 23, and to find out if your vehicle applies to the recall, the GM and NHTSA contact numbers can be found on the official recall notice, which is posted below.

GM expected to debut two new crossovers at Detroit Auto Show

Thu, Dec 15 2016

Next month, General Motors is expected to debut two new crossovers at the North American International Auto Show. That's according to Automotive News and The Wall Street Journal, which reports that the successors to the aging Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Terrain will finally make their debut. The two crossovers have been on sale since 2009 and 2010 respectively and are due for updates as the competition has newer models on the market. Both crossovers play in growing market segments where sales success is crucial for the respective brands. GM, and the automotive industry as a whole, has been shifting its focus towards crossovers in the last few years. The Traverse and the Terrain are some of the oldest SUVs on the market and are in dire need of an update. GMC's Acadia, the former corporate clone to the Traverse (and Buick Acadia), switched to a new platform in 2016. And the Terrain's platform-mate, the Chevrolet Equinox, was revealed a few months ago. Both the new Chevy and GMC models are expected to go on sale late in 2017 as 2018 models. Look for a follow up to the Traverse's sister, the Buick Enclave, to make an appearance soon. GM able to add diesel to half-ton pickups if market demands it

Wed, 18 Sep 2013

A few years ago, the trend in half-ton pickup trucks was ultra-luxurious trims, often with the words "limited" or "platinum" tacked on after the model name. That was well and good, but we like this latest fad a lot more - diesel engines. First, Ram came to bat with a 3.0-liter, V6 turbodiesel for the 1500, then Nissan announced that the next-generation Titan would be getting an eight-cylinder Cummins diesel.
Now, word is coming in from AutoGuide that General Motors can, if it so chooses, drop a diesel engine into its light-duty trucks. The plot thickens, though, as it turns out that said diesel would be the same one Ram is using for its truck. According to AG, that engine comes from VM Motori, which GM owns a sizable chunk of. Therefore, GM can snag the 3.0-liter, V6 diesel for its trucks just as easily, if not more easily, than Ram.
If it's so easy for the Detroit-based manufacturer to access the engines, why not offer the a diesel-powered Sierra and Silverado from the start, then? According to GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson, The General doesn't seem so confident in a diesel pickup outside of its HD offerings. According to Wilkinson, the cost-benefit ratio doesn't line up for customers, thanks to both the impact on the truck's sticker price and the higher price of diesel, in general (the national average for a gallon of diesel is 43 cents more than a gallon of 87-octane unleaded).
