Gmc - V3500, 502 Ci, V8 - Chevrolet - Pickup Truck - Custom-built Dump Bed- Auto on 2040-cars

Year:1989 Mileage:127185
Location:

Brick, New Jersey, United States

Brick, New Jersey, United States

Up for bid is a cab and chassis truck with a custom dumping bed.  This truck is a one owner truck!  This truck was ordered under GM employee discount program and was one of the last SEO (Special Equipment Option).   This was normally reserved for government or state orders.  The truck was ordered with a 454 engine.  And the engine was replaced with a GM crate complete engine.  It has a hydraulic cylinder powered dumping bed.  It has a Spicer Dana 60 front axle.  The truck body may have 127,185 miles on it BUT the engine has only 900 miles on it.  This truck has a crate HT502 truck engine that was installed in September 2002.  Then we moved, and the truck only moved when we needed to move large stuff.  But she fires up on command.  There is a heavy duty battery installed.  It has a K&N air filter installed.  An Edelbrock performer series Carburetor 800 cfm is installed, as well as an Edelbrock RPM air-gap manifold. Detroit locker is installed. There is an AGR steering box installed on the truck, with a drop Pitman Arm.  There is a two inch, Rancho lift in the truck.  This truck is equipped with factory dual exhaust with NO converters. This is how it came from factory, original to truck.  Brakes are heavy-duty Hydra Boost system.  It has a Turbo 400 transmission with a 205 NP transfer case with factory skid plate.  The rear axle is a Heavy Duty 14 bolt with Detroit Locker.  Both axles were ordered with 4.56 gearing.  The air-conditioning system was upgraded to R134 system.   We have all the original paperwork, order sheet and window sticker.  Feel free to check around for how much a GM HT502  goes for.  They sell for over $6000.

So for the price of an engine, you're getting one ton axles and transfer case, and the rest of the truck for free!

Truck is registered and insured.  The brake line recently sprung a leak, and is the only thing stopping it from driving right now.

As you can see in the pictures, the tires have a lot of tread left. I tried to show different parts of the truck to display the upgrades that are installed.  Who else has a bank vault handle for their lift-gate on a truck?  I have lots more pictures, so if you need more - let me know and I will send them to you.

This truck is for sale locally and seller reserves the right to end this listing early.

A deposit will be required within 48 hours of auction ending.

Should you require any additional information, please feel free to contact me through eBay.

This truck is being sold as-is.

I will not ship this truck.

Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites

Sun, Jan 7 2024

Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.

Son surprises his dad by restoring his 1949 pickup for Christmas

Mon, Jan 5 2015

Norman Meal, an 83-year-old retired farmer from Rushville, IN, nearly missed his big Christmas gift when his son, Kyle, first presented it to him. Norman was oblivious and was looking all over the garage floor until Kyle pointed out a satin black pickup with a bow on it parked inside. This wasn't just another case of a child buying a parent a dream vehicle; the '49 GMC sitting there was Norman's very first truck that was restored and ready to drive. According to Fox 59 WXIN, Norman's father purchased the GMC in 1949, and Norman bought it from him in the mid '50s to use on the farm. However, for about the past 13 years, the truck had been rotting away in the garage of one of Kyle's friends. As a perfect gift to his dad, Kyle took the pickup to a restoration shop to make the old vehicle roadworthy again. Practically everything was replaced – except for the horn. Thankfully, Kyle filmed his dad's reaction to getting the GMC. Check it out and watch them take a drive in the heartwarming video above.
