This 1993 GMC truck is a clean, original style vehicle that has always been in North Carolina. So if you are looking for a nice truck that is not a project, here it is. The mileage is low and it shows inside, outside and under the hood. While the truck is mostly stock, there are two small modifications to note: new paint (original color) and a new transmission.

The engine in this truck is in excellent working order, as is the Auto transmission. I bought the truck in 1995 with 20,000 miles on it. It is practically a 1-owner. The truck is in excellent overall mechanical condition and needs no repairs at this time. Everything is currently functional including the A/C. So for those who will ask, Yes you can drive it home. Again this is not a project like so many others. It has a current North Carolina registration and inspection.

Beyond being a good working vehicle, this truck is also very solid and in the condition you'd hope for. It has not seen any rough conditions, from weather, or abuse. There is no rust any where. Even the cab corners are excellent (pretty rare even for here.) The chassis, suspension, bed, cab etc. are all good. There are no dents to note. However the paint on top of the back finders has a few stars in it. The bed looks great and is coved with Rino liner. Inside you'll find a clean, well appointed interior that is 100% original. The seat upholstery has been covered with a clear plastic seat cover shown in pictures since we bought the truck. All panels are all good with no stains or rips. Unfortunately there is a small crack in the dash. The early 90 model GMCs had the primer backed on wrong from the factory. I had the truck taken down to metal. Came back with new primer and paint, all work was done by certified professionals.

Basically what you have here is just a good older truck with desirable features such as the 454 engine, long bed, and the Sierra trim package. Also we are non-smokers. It sure doesn't hurt that its a good color too. This truck is clean, original and not abused. You might call it a ONE OF A KIND. We would like to sell it to someone who will appreciate the good condition.

If you are a serious buyer, please feel free to contact me with questions about the condition of this vehicle. I also encourage any serious buyers who can to inspect the truck in person as it will sell itself. All I ask is that calls be made before 10:00 PM EST, home (828) 649-37six0, or cell (828) three 19-1018, Stev Roberts

Roadkill pits every project car against each other

Sat, 22 Feb 2014

The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.

Trademark application points to evolution of new Hummer EV logo

Mon, Aug 17 2020

A trademark application has revealed yet another evolution of the logo expected to adorn GMC's new Hummer EV pickup truck, bringing back the big "H" badge utilized on the H2 and H3 model lines of the expanded SUV lineup's heyday.  The image included with the filing depicts a logo that should be familiar to Hummer fans (or really any American who left their house between 2003 and 2010), with "EV" supplanting the old numerical model indicator. The "Hummer" and "EV" typeface appears to be a direct lift from a filing that surfaced back in April.  This should provide some comfort to folks who are fans of the idea of a future-proofed, all-electric pickup, but want something that embodies the charisma and road presence of the models sold in Hummer's now-deceased, not-so-environmentally-spectacular incarnation. While we don't yet know really any details of the new all-electric SUV, we do know it will be sold via GMC dealers, meaning the revived nameplate will not bring the rest of the Hummer brand along with it.  We haven't really seen much of the new truck, save for teasers and hints here and there. Even the "reveal" back in June only gave us a vague, big-picture look at the truck's silhouette, and various companion images and videos have hinted at features such as a removable roof assembly.  The truck’s general shape is off-road oriented with squared-off, sharp lines tracing the entire silhouette. Its big, knobby tires and blocky wheels are clear indicators of what GM was aiming for with this electric pickup. As for the SUV, comparisons to the Ford Bronco four-door will be inevitable. If our eyes are picking up the scale of this photo correctly, though, the Hummer SUV appears to be a slightly larger vehicle than the four-door Bronco is. Although, the wheelbase for the SUV is shorter than that of the Hummer truck. ThatÂ’ll help it off-road. Those small bumpers and short overhangs along with the bumper cutouts should be hugely beneficial to approach and departure angles, as well. GMCÂ’s shots of the Hummer in the studio are equally as revealing. We can see what looks to be an intense front skid plate and two big tow hooks. In addition to the off-road gear, GMC has allowed a look at the frunk. The front “grille” is one piece with the hood of the truck, so the whole assembly pulls up. That makes for what appears to be a very easy-to-load front trunk compared to other EVs that force you to lift items up and over the front of the car.

Big And Boxy Might Be Best
As immense fans of the Back to the Future trilogy, we sometimes like to envision an alternate timeline in which General Motors had killed off GMC and kept Pontiac instead. The G8 GXP would still be on the road handily beating German sport sedans costing twice as much, while the lowly G3 would morph into a true subcompact-killer based on what is now the Chevrolet Sonic RS. While we're at it, let's go ahead and imagine the G6 has become the best-selling car in the US and the Torrent crossover is selling 20,000+ units per month. Far-fetched, we know.
The thing is, these fanciful statements would have to be true to make the case against keeping GMC. Pontiac may have offered more excitement than GMC, but money talks, and a full line of trucks, crossovers and SUVs have made a lot more money for GM than the arrowhead brand ever did. How much? As we learned last month, about two-thirds of GM's global profits came from its fullsize trucks, and GMC's trucks typically have thicker margins than their Chevrolet counterparts.
