Hi,  This is a wonderful truck.  We have had it for 2 years and it has been very reliable for us.  The truck has been reconditioned for this sale.  It has new tires, new upper control arms, new steering linkage, rebuilt transmission (500 miles ago), new intake manifold gaskets, new heater core, new front brakes, new power brake unit, and lots more.  It should make it cross country very easily.  We are in Tucson, Arizona so there is absolutely NO RUST anywhere on the truck.  Our weather in the desert preserves the metal.  The truck is set up for a gooseneck or bumper pull trailer and it has an electric braking module installed.  The truck also has a nice sound system with CD player.  The 4wd works well.  The engine runs great!  I had it tuned up recently and it just passed an Arizona emissions test.  The AC and heater work great!  The truck is "Turn Key" and is ready to go.  We have spent a lot of time and energy maintaining the truck to a very high standard.  If you would like to hear more about the truck or if you have any questions you can reach me on my cell phone @ 52O 235-4l36.  There is a $500 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close and vehicle pick up and cash payment are due within 1 week of auction close.  The truck is also available for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction if I get an offer that I like.  I will deliver the truck to you for a dollar per mile from zip 85712 but you have to be within about a 1 day drive and you must pay for the truck before I leave Tucson or I can pick you up at the airport.

GM also sheds parts from its pickups to boost payload ratings

Thu, 31 Jul 2014

The row between Ford and Ram over who boasts the best-in-class tow rating for heavy duty pickups has revealed a number of things. Chief among them is a report that Ford removes items like the spare tire, jack, radio and center console from its vehicles in a bid to lower its base curb weight and therefore keep the truck's gross vehicle weight rating down.
For those that need a refresher, GVWR is the vehicle's curb weight plus its maximum payload. A lower GVWR allows Ford to station its F-450 among the so-called Class III pickups, despite the fact that internally, it has the makings of a more brutish Class IV truck.
Ford explains away these deletions, saying a customer could order their vehicle in such a manner. It has also come to light that Ford is not the only automaker to engage in such practices.

2014 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra full configurators truck in

Sat, 15 Jun 2013

You can now put prices to your wildest option-sheet dreams of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. A microsite for the full-size pickup truck twins has been up since January, and now the full-blown configurator is live and ready to take your virtual orders. The only two chassis configurations available at the moment are the Crew Cab with either a short or standard bed - Regular and Double Cab versions will come later. In Silverado flavors that will run you $32,710 for the short box, $33,010 for the standard box, while the Sierra adds a $1,500 premium to both of those prices, and destination and handling for both models adds another $995.
Since these are American pickups the list of modifications is lengthy, but we added $11,450 in just two steps by starting with the Silverado Crew Cab and standard bed, then checking four-wheel drive and the LTZ Z71 package. Our final truck, resplendent in Brownstone Metallic paint, heated and cooled Cocoa/Dune perforated leather seating and tasty details like chrome recovery hooks, and engine block heater and LED cargo box lighting, rang up $57,285 at the candy store.
They'll be on dealer lots sometime this summer, so now's a good time to start practicing your box-checking.

GM mulling off-road variants of fullsize SUVs

Tue, 24 Sep 2013

According to General Motors, owners "just love off-roading with [its fullsize body-on-frame sport utility vehicles]," namely the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban and GMC Yukon. If that's the case, it's a bit odd that sales of the previous generation of these models with the Z71 off-road package didn't sell particularly well.
Perhaps, considering this disconnect between owner's thoughts and desires with actual sales, it's not surprising that General Motors is reportedly "considering" an off-road specific model. That means the package would include styling changes and badges along with suspension modifications and larger wheels with appropriately sized fender flares.
There's no indication if the off-road model would be called Z71 or when it may potentially go on sale, assuming it ever goes on sale at all.
