1986 Gmc Dually Wrecker W/wheel Lift & Sling - No Reserve! on 2040-cars
Wrentham, Massachusetts, United States
Bought it on eBay and drove it up from Oklahoma in 2003. Completely rust free at the time, it now has one small hole behind each door and rust on the lower part of the driver's rocker panel, shown in photos. The cab is so tight it's easier to close the door if you open a window. 350 gas, 3-speed stick w/low (some would call it a 4-speed), dual 20-gallon tanks, dual exhaust that needs work, twin 10,000lb. Ramsey winches with 100 ft. of 3/8" cable on each; power tilt & telescoping boom with nylon sling, 6,000lb. wheel-lift, Force 4 XL-4000 light bar (guy I bought it from made a big deal out of it but it's just another light bar to me), gantry lights and tilt wheel. Also has: Lucerne grille guard, 28"X19" triple core radiator, hydroboost brakes, load range E tires, remote high idle control, tagalongs, dolly set and of course, a clear title. Truck runs great: starts easily in all weather and runs beautifully. There's exactly one failed hydraulic hose: on the cross beam of the wheel lift right at the pivot pin where all the steel and hoses meet. Fortunately it's not a critical function and it doesn't leak if you don't use its associated lever. I've only put 9000 miles on it in the ten years I've owned it, using it only occasionally for buying/moving project cars, motorcycles (I can show you how), auto junking, fetching firewood, hoisting a pallet of shingles up to my garage roof, picking and placing boulders around the yard, etc. etc. etc. Short wheelbase and narrow body allows you to place a disabled vehicle in slots a ramp truck can only peer into. Parking brake cables are frozen. Comes with a spare wheel, extra tires and any other spares I've accumulated for it over the years. Please scrutinize the photos and don't hesitate to ask for more if there's anything else you'd like to see. Thanks for looking and reading all this!

GMC reveals updated 2016 Sierra
Wed, Jul 15 2015It was just the other day that Chevy revealed the face of the new 2016 Silverado. And as might have been expected, sister brand GMC has followed up by unveiling its version in the facelifted 2016 Sierra pickup – just two and a half years since the current all-new model was rolled out. Though details released thus far remain few and far between, GMC has revealed more images of the new Sierra – in SLT, Denali and All Terrain trim levels – than Chevy did of the updated Silverado. It's got new headlights, fog lamps, and C-shaped daytime running lights and taillights, all using LED elements. It's arguably a more muscular look than the Chevy version, and with more chrome than the toned-down Silverado. That is, at least, in SLT and Denali trims. The All Terrain version looks more in line with the similarly off-road-focused Silverado Z71 and its color-keyed treatment. The changes ought to help GMC keep up the momentum that has seen its sales rise year-over-year every month over the past twelve. The interior shots indicate that the new Sierra will incorporate Apple CarPlay like GM is installing in so many models across its various brand ranges. But we'll have to wait a little while longer for all the details. With exterior styling as its top reason for purchase, the new truck adds key design elements: LED "C-shaped" signature daytime running lights and LED headlights; new front fascia and grilles for each trim level; new LED fog lamps; new bumpers; and new "C-shaped" LED taillights. The new Sierra will be available in the fourth quarter of this year, with additional details and information on the new model released in the coming months.
2022 GMC Hummer EV shows off accessories ahead of SEMA
Thu, Oct 28 2021As is the case with nearly every new off-roader on the market, the 2022 GMC Hummer EV will have a bunch of accessories available for personalizing the big electric pickup truck. In fact, GMC says that the total number of add-ons is close to 200. But for the SEMA show, it's sharing just a few of what it says are the more interesting accessories. Quite a few of these parts will take you a long way to turning the Hummer EV into an overlander. The most obvious is the roof-top tent that utilizes mounts on the roof and the bed. It looks quite large and roomy. Naturally, auxiliary lighting is available, too, including a 50-inch roof light bar and two smaller spot lights that mount ahead of the A pillars. For storage, there's a nifty swing-out toolbox, shown in the gallery as more of a tackle box, plus a battery-powered cooler and a bed-mount for a full-size spare tire. There's also a more traditional bed extender and simple bed rail-mounted rack. And just for fun, you can get a Kicker audio sound system built into the MultiPro tailgate to listen to your music. Not all the accessories are about utility, though. There are some visual enhancements such as the red decals shown in the gallery. They match other decals and badges available, and they're offered in bronze, too. There are some branded puddle lights on offer as well. These should be available around when the Hummer EV pickup goes on sale next year. Pricing for each part will surely vary, though exact numbers haven't been announced. 2014 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra first pickups to ace updated NHTSA tests [w/video]
Tue, 20 Aug 2013General Motors has just become the first pickup truck manufacturer to receive five-star overall vehicle scores in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's New Car Assessment Program. The updated safety standards, which went into effect in 2011, are more strenuous than the previous NHTSA curriculum and involve collecting both more and more substantial data, reflecting the improved safety inherent in newer vehicles. This feat is made more impressive by the fact that both Ford and Ram have released brand-new trucks since the new testing went into effect - GM's victory is no technicality.
The rating only applies to the redesigned, light-duty Silverado, Sierra and their upmarket variants, High Country and Denali, respectively, while only Crew Cab variants were tested. Considering that the four-door body style will make up 60 percent of GM's light-duty truck sales, the exclusion of the other variants seems reasonable.
This news is sure to be yet another feather in GM's pickup-oriented cap. Be sure to scroll down for video of the crash testing, as well as the full press release from General Motors.
