1986 Gmc Sierra 2500 on 2040-cars

Year:1986 Mileage:155000
Location:

Martinez, California, United States

Martinez, California, United States

Up for Auction is an Original 1986 GMC Sierra 2500 4x4 3/4 ton pick up.

First and Foremost...This truck IS NOT RESTORED!!  IT IS ALL ORIGINAL except for the steering wheel.

The Story....

Originally a NEVADA State Truck...was brought to California in 1994 and was owned by the same owner for the last 20 years and used a extra truck for the home, dump runs etc.  When the clutch went out the truck was parked for the last few years.  I purchased the truck to make it my dump runner etc. but I recently had buddies get into jeeping so I am looking to find a CJ instead!

FACTORY OPTIONS:

Air conditioning, 4.10 gears with Posi-traction rear end, 4 speed tranny, ORIGNIAL PAINT (no secrets, no bondo)

I have done the following in the last few months:

Brand NEW LUK Clutch, pilot bearing, re-surfaced fly wheel, all new fluids in tranny and transfer case

Brand NEW Hydraulic brake system, new master cylinder, slave cylinder

Completely rebuilt factory Non-tilt Steering wheel

New idle sensor selenoid

The previos owner was smart when he parked it and drained, oil, fuel and water...So these systems have new fluids and are in complete working order!

Air conditioning is all intact (minus one vent in cab) and works, but does not blow cold.  Heater, defroster, and wipers all work.

WHAT IT NEEDS...

Tires...All four tires were slashed at the sidewall years ago...they have been patched for years to move around the previous owners property...THEY ARE NOT ROAD WORTHY.  They do completely hold air for months.  I was going to purchase tires but heres the deal....I don't want to spend money on tires if the next owner, wants a factory tire, a slightly upgraded size or if they want to lift it etc.

The hood release handle is broken...it still works as it should it is just not mounted to the kick panel

No stereo

Dash is cracked

I removed the clutch safety switch because it didn't work, so stuck a 30 amp fuse as a relay and by passed it.  Works perfectly!

According to the previous owner the plugs and wires were replaced right before the clutch went out a few years ago.  They LOOK LIKE IT.  I did NOT replace them.

Rust:  Each cab corner has the beginning of paint bubble.  They metal is still very solid and all there, but there is the early stage of minor rust in these areas.  OTHERWISE There is NO RUST IN THE ENTIRE REST OF TRUCK.

You will see the windshield is cracked in the pictures...THIS WILL BE REPLACED PRIOR TO SALE with a brand new Windshield!

This truck spent 20 of its thirty years in the suburbs of the San francisco Bay Area....NO SNOW, SALT and way inland from the coast.

Overall:

This truck runs like a top, shifts smooth and true and stops on a dime.  It drives straight as an arrow down the road.  ALL WINDOWS roll up and down perfectly, door locks work perfectly.

The body is straight with body flaws to be expected from a 30 year old 4x4.  The bed is in way above average condition, with minimal flaws.  The tailgate operates perfectly and is straight!

All this being said....It's a 30 year old bare bones 4x4 truck.  It will need some attention to above listed areas as well as a saturday afternoon doing belts etc.

My reserve is extremely fair for such a truck.  Hard to find these that aren't all rust out and beat to hell.  I am a private party guy who is not selling to make a living, so your not gonna pay some inflated price if you were buying from dealer.

DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO BUY.  AGAIN, THIS IS NOT A RESTORED OR REFURBISHED TRUCK.  IT is driver quality.......

Pleas call or text with questions.  (925) 323-5747.  I have a 100 percent positive feedback on EBAY, and I intend on keeping that.  This truck has been described 100 percent accurately.

I would not plan on driving this truck across country..as it has minimal use in recent years and therefore its long distance reliablity is unknown.

If your a California Buyer...SMOG certification will be buyer responsiblity.  The truck is sold AS IS.

Good luck

Which electric cars can charge at a Tesla Supercharger?

Sun, Jul 9 2023

The difference between Tesla charging and non-Tesla charging. Electrify America; Tesla Tesla's advantage has long been its charging technology and Supercharger network. Now, more and more automakers are switching to Tesla's charging tech. But there are a few things non-Tesla drivers need to know about charging at a Tesla station. A lot has hit the news cycle in recent months with regard to electric car drivers and where they can and can't plug in. The key factor in all of that? Whether automakers switched to Tesla's charging standard. More car companies are shifting to Tesla's charging tech in the hopes of boosting their customers' confidence in going electric.  Here's what it boils down to: If you currently drive a Tesla, you can keep charging at Tesla charging locations, which use the company's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has long served it well. The chargers are thinner, more lightweight and easier to wrangle than other brands.  If you currently drive a non-Tesla EV, you have to charge at a non-Tesla charging station like that of Electrify America or EVgo — which use the Combined Charging System (CCS) — unless you stumble upon a Tesla charger already equipped with the Magic Dock adapter. For years, CCS tech dominated EVs from everyone but Tesla.  Starting next year, if you drive a non-Tesla EV (from the automakers that have announced they'll make the switch), you'll be able to charge at all Supercharger locations with an adapter. And by 2025, EVs from some automakers won't even need an adaptor.  Here's how to charge up, depending on which EV you have:  Ford 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Tim Levin/Insider Ford was the earliest traditional automaker to team up with Tesla for its charging tech. Current Ford EV owners — those driving a Ford electric vehicle already fitted with a CCS port — will be able to use a Tesla-developed adapter to access Tesla Superchargers starting in the spring. That means that, if you own a Mustang Mach-E or Ford F-150 Lightning, you will need the adapter in order to use a Tesla station come 2024. But Ford will equip its future EVs with the NACS port starting in 2025 — eliminating the need for any adapter. Owners of new Ford EVs will be able to pull into a Supercharger station and juice up, no problem. General Motors Cadillac Lyriq. Cadillac GM will also allow its EV drivers to plug into Tesla stations.

5 classic trucks and their polarizing modern revivals

Sun, Mar 3 2024

EVs are helping eliminate Detroit's gas-guzzling problem. Some revivals of gas-powered classics are getting the EV treatment.  But not every revived model looks exactly like its original counterpart. We're in a new era of hulking Detroit metal, and you can thank EVs. Americans can't get enough of their big, beefy trucks and SUVs. But for many years, some of the biggest gas guzzlers fell out of fashion as gas prices rose and emissions regulations tightened. But in the past few years, some of the most iconic American truck nameplates have been brought back to life with electric motors, like the GMC Hummer. In other cases, as with the Ford Bronco, improvements in engine technology and more interest in rugged adventure vehicles made a gas-powered revival possible. Even some revivals that started as gas-powered, like the Chevy Blazer and the Jeep Wagoneer, are now getting electrified spinoffs. (Even if they don't always look quite as sleek as their original inspiration.) Here are side-by-sides of five classic American trucks and their modern counterparts. The Jeep Wagoneer 1975 Jeep Wagoneer and 2024 Electric Jeep Wagoneer SStellantis After a long wait, Jeep released its revival of the classic Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer in 2020. Starting later this year, an electric version of the luxury Jeep SUV will join the Wagoneer lineup. The Chevrolet Blazer A 1973 Chevrolet Blazer and a 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EVGetty Images, General Motors The Chevrolet Blazer was first rebooted in 2019 as a sporty family SUV. The modern Blazer shares zero resemblance to its boxy, off-roading older sibling, but it has still managed to become one of Chevy's more popular SUVs in recent years. The Blazer EV came later, and was one of the first models GM built on its new Ultium battery platform. The Hummer A Hummer H2 and the 2023 Hummer EV pickup truckGetty Images, General Motors Once the poster child for Detroit's big, bad gas guzzlers, the Hummer got new life as an electric pickup truck in 2021. The Ford Bronco A 1971 Ford Bronco and a 2022 Ford BroncoFord Motor Co. After a rouge group of engineers and designers inside Ford spent years trying to breathe life back into the Blue Oval's boxy off-roader, the Ford Bronco was finally resurrected in 2020 amid a rise in popularity for rugged adventure vehicles. GMC Hummer EV hits Neiman Marcus Christmas catalog for twice the price

Fri, Oct 29 2021

This winter season, Nieman Marcus is getting into the true meaning of Christmas by offering a bunch of seriously expensive stuff in its annual holiday catalog. There's usually at least one automotive offering, and this year it's a 2022 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 for an eye-watering $285,000. That's $172,405 more than the regular Edition 1 crab-walker, which is priced by GMC at $112,595. And what does one get for more than 2.5 times the cost of the most expensive electric Hummer? Well, hold your 1,000 horses, because this isn't just any Hummer EV Edition 1. No, it's a one-off Barrett-Jackson Hummer EV Edition 1. The interior of this Barrett-Jackson edition Hummer has been "curated" by Craig Jackson himself. And by curated, they mean it has a bunch of red trim everywhere and is garnished with a Neiman Marcus logo. Aside from that, there is nothing appreciably different about it. No performance upgrades, no special paint job. You do get an electric charging station at home, though, which might be the most useful addition to this whole enterprise. If that's not worth the price of an entire 1.5 extra Hummers to you, there's more. You get two VIP passes for the opening gala of the Barrett-Jackson auctions in exotic Scottsdale, Ariz. During the auction, you'll get access for two to Carolyn and Craig Jackson's personal skybox from where you can watch 1,500 cars trade hands. But don't get too comfy, because at some point you'll be invited on stage to receive your Hummer EV in front of a gaggle of inebriated fishing boat dealership owners. Oh, and you'll also get to bang the little auction hammer. You can pair the Hummer with other gifts in Nieman Marcus' "fantasy" catalog, like a $6.1 million dollar diamond ring. However, if you go with the $395,000 Great Gatsby-style roaring '20s party, make sure it doesn't end with the 9,000-pound Hummer Daisy Buchanan-ing any bystanders.
