I am selling my 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE. It is two wheel drive with the locking rear differential. 5.3L V8 and automatic transmission. Options include power windows, locks and mirrors, Bose stereo, rear defrost, driver info controls on the steering wheel, cruise control, fog lights, soft tonneau cover, spray-in bed liner, power drivers seat, and some other stuff I'm probably forgetting. It also has aftermarket remote start that works perfectly, and will come with two keys and two remotes. Take a look at the pictures and you can see what it has on it. It is very very clean. There is no rust on this truck other than normal surface rust in the engine compartment that you could reasonably expect for a vehicle this age. The bed, cab corners, doors etc. are free of rust. It has brand new Monroe shocks all the way around, new front coil springs, and new front steering knuckles (spindles). When I bought the truck it was lowered and I just recently raised it back up to factory ride height. That cost me around $1500.00 and I had it done by a GMC factory mechanic. It just wasn't very practical being lowered. You can see in the last picture the only real blemish on the truck. It has a scuff on the rear passenger's side door panel. It also has a shift kit. The transmission shifts very crisp from first to second and then more normally through the gears after that. It likes to be driven. It has Magna Flow exhaust that is turned down in front of the passenger side rear tire. It has a really nice low growl. Not like glass packs or anything. It sounds really good. You can see in the picture the dash is signed by Chip Foose and some other guys. I guess that was done when it was lowered. The truck runs and drives really great. I have never had any issues with it at all. It has a fresh oil change and is ready to go. I am selling with no reserve so bid now. PLEASE be sure that if you bid you are prepared to buy. If you need to arrange financing please do so before you bid. I will accept cash or a cashiers check drawn from a major bank. Cash is preferred. If you win the auction and do not pay negative feedback will be left. I am selling this truck AS-IS where-is with no warranties expressed or implied. If you would like to look at the truck in person or drive it before you bid please contact me. I have the title in-hand and will have it notarized and ready for you when you come pick it up. Please contact me with any questions you have. Good luck and happy bidding.

New GMC feature reminds drivers to check for kids in hot cars
Wed, Jun 15 2016We see the stories every summer: Dozens of children die from heat stroke every year after being left inside hot cars. GMC has introduced a feature in the 2017 Acadia in an effort to help curb the problem. Simply called Rear Seat Reminder, it alerts the driver if the vehicle suspects someone might have been accidentally left behind. GMC's alert will trigger under certain circumstances. Five chimes will sound and a warning will display if the rear doors are opened and closed within 10 minutes of the vehicle starting or if those doors are opened while the vehicle is running. The system does not sense items or people in the rear seat like the front passenger seat would to trigger the airbag. Warnings will be displayed regardless of interior or exterior temperature; while the summer months are the deadliest, leave-behind deaths occasionally occur during cold weather. Drivers should be aware that temperatures in vehicles can quickly rise to dangerous levels, even if the ambient temperature seems cool and comfortable. View 23 Photos Unfortunately, a large percentage of children are intentionally left in cars. A negligent caretaker, whether it be a parent, grandparent, or babysitter, can leave a child behind while they go to work or run an errand, not expecting any problems. Some children unintentionally trap themselves in cars while playing in the cabin or trunk. The Acadia's system is unlikely to prevent these scenarios. While we believe that GMC should be commended for making an effort to put an end to these tragedies, we're not certain how effective the system might be until driver education improves. It's also possible drivers will come submit to warning fatigue and begin to ignore the messages. That said, if this software-based solution prevents just one death, it was worth the effort. GM will no longer remove parts from trucks to calculate curb weights
Fri, 08 Aug 2014Following last week's mild uproar after it was discovered that Ford and General Motors were removing some optional parts from their pickups to lower the curb weight and consequently increase the maximum payload, GM has come out and committed to a base curb weight for its upcoming Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon compact trucks (although it has yet to publish them) and its current Silverado and Sierra. The company will do the same for its heavy duty offerings, although those numbers have not been finalized yet.
"This will make our curb weight and payload specs more consistent with those of most other truck makers, making it easier for customers to compare vehicles," GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson told Autoblog in an emailed statement.
As GM notes - and as every manufacturer has noted since this story broke - customers still shouldn't take max payload ratings as gospel. Instead, they should refer to their truck's Tire and Load Label, like the one shown at the inset, which will offer detailed information on max payload, specific to their truck.
GM might outsource vans to AM General
Thu, Nov 26 2015General Motors will possibly boost production of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon at the Wentzville Assembly Plant in Missouri by contracting out some commercial van manufacturing to AM General. Demand for the two midsize trucks continues to boom, and GM would like to take advantage of the strong market for them. The possible deal came to light in a letter to workers at the factory, according to Automotive News. "This potential partnership would free up production capacity and allow the organization to capitalize on our ability to build midsize trucks to further satisfy customer demand," a portion of the document allegedly said. AM General would reportedly only take over assembly of the cutaway versions of the Chevy Express and GMC Savana. Customers and critics have quickly embraced the latest Colorado and Canyon since their introduction. The Chevy just won back-to-back Motor Trend Truck of the Year awards. GM also had to add a third shift and extra workers in 2014 just to keep up with demand. The Wentzville plant even increased employment on the weekends earlier in 2015 to assemble an extra 2,000 of the trucks each month. While the two pickups boom, deliveries for the Chevy Express and GMC Savana are down 26.9 percent and 26.6 percent respectively through the first 10 months of the year. GM doesn't break out numbers for the cutaway versions, but they make up about a third of production, according to Automotive News. AM General built the Humvee for the US military and does some contract work with automakers. For example, the company's Indiana factory now produces the Mercedes-Benz R-Class for export to China. Here's hoping this potential deal will help both GM and AM General keep their factories humming. Related Video:
