Hello and thanks for viewing this auction. Please read the ad in full before bidding, buying, or asking questions. Please be serious about bidding. The truck is located in Ventress, La. which is about a half hour West of Baton Rouge.

This is a 2005 GMC Sierra. The truck is equipped with the 5.3L V8 engine and automatic transmission. IT RUNS EXCELLENT, AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS PERFECTLY. It has no rust, no oil leaks, no water leaks, no drips of any kind. Bottom of truck is dry. I do see that the heater hoses are off. I assume the heater core leaks.

The outside has quite a few dings and scratches. I have tried to picture all defects. Front two tires are like new. Rear two have 50% or better tread. Tool box in bed. Aftermarket grill and leveling kit.

The inside is in good shape, but has some flaws. The seats are not torn or worn out. The carpet is not torn or stained up. The headliner, like most of these, is starting to come off by the driver's door. Some of the gauges, like most of these, need rebuilding... rpm, oil pressure, etc. The handle that holds the rear door glass closed is broken.

The air condition blows ice cold. Power windows and locks work great. Stereo works great.

**Please note that the truck has a reconstructed title for water damage. I do not know when it occurred, nor where the water level was... if it had any at all. There are some areas around Louisiana where all vehicles in that area were issued a water damaged title. The truck has more than a few cosmetic flaws. However, I see no indication of anything even slightly resembling water damage.

Mechanically very sound. Engine, transmission, rear end, etc.

*****PLEASE NOTE*****

I REQUIRE A $500 DEPOSIT DUE IMMEDIATELY AT THE AUCTION END THROUGH PAYPAL. NO EXCEPTIONS PLEASE. THE BALANCE IS DUE AND THE TRUCK MUST BE PICKED UP IN NO LATER THAN 7 DAYS FROM THE AUCTION END. THIS TRUCK IS SOLD AS-IS. YOU ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO COME AND INSPECT BEFORE BUYING OR BIDDING. TRUCK IS LOCATED 30 MINUTES FROM BATON ROUGE. SHIPPING IS THE RESPONSIBILTY OF THE BUYER.

Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic

Mon, Oct 24 2016

Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each. 2013 GMC Acadia Denali

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

Refreshed, Not Refreshing
I'm probably ill-suited to accurately and fairly take the full measure of a vehicle like the 2013 GMC Acadia Denali. This is a machine conjured around the express notion of corralling and then herding a brood of rafter-swinging hatchlings to and fro in relative comfort, and with no such passel of wee Bowmans to call my own, it's difficult to give this rig a fair shake. While I can certainly weigh cargo capacity, legroom and fuel economy stats with the best of them, I'd be lying to your face if I said the word "crossover" didn't urge some uncontrollable Pavlovian recoil from the murky recesses of my frame. To put it simply, I just can't stand the damn things.
As a rule, the segment is built on a bed of compromise. Manufacturers love nothing more than to spin up a tired yarn about the virtues of this particular neck of the market. We're told the crossbreeds deliver all the ride quality, driving dynamics and fuel economy of a car married with the seating position, capability and interior volume of the SUV set. That all sounds as swell as a sunset, but as the 2013 Acadia Denali so artfully illustrates, the advertising on the box is rarely congruous with the prize inside. Even with an imaginary squad of younglings at my heels, the refreshed luxury crossover doesn't quite manage to scratch the promised itches.

2015 Chevy Tahoe, Suburban and GMC Yukon unveiled

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

General Motors has today unveiled its new family of fullsize SUVs, including the 2015 Chevy Tahoe, its longer Suburban sibling, and their GMC Yukon, Yukon XL and Yukon Denali cousins. More efficient powertrains, improved aerodynamics, increased connectivity and better overall refinement are what Chevy and GMC say will separate their new SUVs from the current generation.
Sporting a tried-and-true body-on-frame architecture, these full-size SUVs feature platforms that are stronger and offer a wider rear track for "a more planted stance," according to Chevy and GMC. Mounted at the front of each SUV is an EcoTec3 powertrain, which consists of a standard 355-horsepower, 5.3-liter V8 (or a 420-hp, 6.2-liter V8 for the GMC Yukon Denali alone) with direct injection, cylinder deactivation and continuously variable valve timing, that's paired with a Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission. The setup is said to be more efficient than before, though official EPA fuel economies for each vehicle are not yet available. To help the powertrain achieve the best possible fuel economy in these 5,000+ pound SUVs, the new styling was developed with aerodynamics in mind. For the same reason, electric power steering also makes its debut in the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon family.
The front fascias of the Chevy Suburban/Tahoe and GMC Yukon are distinct, but from the base of the A-pillars back, they share most of the same styling cues. This now includes inlaid doors that tuck into the door sills, instead of over them, which improves aerodynamics and fuel economy, and lessens interior noise. The hoods and liftgate panels now are made of aluminum in an effort to reduce vehicle weight. Chevy and GMC also tout that the Tahoe/Suburban and Yukon don't share a single piece of sheetmetal or lighting element with the brands' full-size pick-up trucks.
