Up for auction is a rare 2006 GMC Sierra K1500 Hybrid Gas-Electric 4x4 Extended Cab Pickup truck. This vehicle is being sold with 907A salvage paperwork. It was purchased as part of a flood damaged fleet and vehicle and does not start. It does not appear that any water entered the cab and even the underside does not appear to have any damage beyond that from normal use. The dashboard lights up as you can see and all the interior accessories appear to function. When you turn the key, no crank or start. The hybrid batteries do not appear damaged and had proper charge when checked. I do not have the expertise to diagnose and repair this vehicle so my loss is your gain. I think that with minimal repair, this would be a very nice truck. Body is in very good condition. These trucks are rare and big money. Reserve is very low so bid now and save BIG $$$$. Please read below for more details regarding condition as well as 907A salvage vehicles. 907A Salvage: This vehicle is being sold with New York 907A Salvage certificate/paperwork. Please be sure to check the requirements in your state for processing 907A paperwork. Pennsylvania and New Jersey Residents: your state does not accept this paperwork and salvage inspection application must be done in NY first. Most states require a salvage examination prior to registering vehicle. Vehicle must be towed or trailered. Please feel free to contact me with any and all questions PRIOR to bidding. If you are local you are welcome to come and inspect vehicle in person or have and independent inspection conducted. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. 631-871-3459 (Seth). Condition Drivetrain Vehicle does not crank or start. Dashboard light up when powered and key turned. Fluids appear to all be clean and there is no evidence of water entering the engine. Exterior Paint has most of its factory finish and with a cleaning, would glisten. The front bumper has some oxidation. Other than maybe a minor blemish here and there, the body is very straight as you can see and in nice condition. Interior Interior is in good to average condition and is dirty from use. No evidence of water inside and no smells. Lights, radio, blower, etc., all work. Wheels and Tires · Tires
have approximately 60%+ tread remaining. Full set of factory allow GMC rims. The driver rear tire has a leak and goes flat. I have not started or driven this vehicle. I have only superficially inspected it's condition due to the salvage nature. Any information regarding repairs is best guess and merely a guideline. It is recommended that a qualified mechanic check over any salvage flood vehicle before use. Most states do not allow a 907A salvage vehicle to be operated on a public highway prior to inspection. IT IS THE BUYERS RESPONSIBILITY TO ASK QUESTIONS AND/OR INSPECT THE VEHICLE BEFORE BIDDING AND PURCHASE. FAILURE OF THE BUYER TO DO SO DOES NOT CONSTITUTE NON-DISCLOSURE OF DEFECTS ON THE SELLERS PART. GM might outsource vans to AM General
Thu, Nov 26 2015General Motors will possibly boost production of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon at the Wentzville Assembly Plant in Missouri by contracting out some commercial van manufacturing to AM General. Demand for the two midsize trucks continues to boom, and GM would like to take advantage of the strong market for them. The possible deal came to light in a letter to workers at the factory, according to Automotive News. "This potential partnership would free up production capacity and allow the organization to capitalize on our ability to build midsize trucks to further satisfy customer demand," a portion of the document allegedly said. AM General would reportedly only take over assembly of the cutaway versions of the Chevy Express and GMC Savana. Customers and critics have quickly embraced the latest Colorado and Canyon since their introduction. The Chevy just won back-to-back Motor Trend Truck of the Year awards. GM also had to add a third shift and extra workers in 2014 just to keep up with demand. The Wentzville plant even increased employment on the weekends earlier in 2015 to assemble an extra 2,000 of the trucks each month. While the two pickups boom, deliveries for the Chevy Express and GMC Savana are down 26.9 percent and 26.6 percent respectively through the first 10 months of the year. GM doesn't break out numbers for the cutaway versions, but they make up about a third of production, according to Automotive News. AM General built the Humvee for the US military and does some contract work with automakers. For example, the company's Indiana factory now produces the Mercedes-Benz R-Class for export to China. Here's hoping this potential deal will help both GM and AM General keep their factories humming. Related Video:
2019 GMC Sierra spied sporting just a thin wrapping
Mon, Nov 6 2017A new Chevy Silverado is on the way, and along with that comes it's fraternal twin, the GMC Sierra. We've seen spy shots before, but, like the Silverado we saw a few days ago, this is our best look yet. Nearly all of the loose-fitting camouflage has been removed, giving us a decent view of the bodywork. A brief look shows that the Sierra and Silverado will have significant styling differences for this generation. In the past, GMC trucks have been little more than rebadged Chevrolets. That's been changing in recent years, and the divide seems to be growing larger. The grille looks much larger than the Silverado's and there appears to be a small inlet right where the hood meets the front. From the side, we can see that the two trucks have different fenders and beds. The wheel wells on the GMC are squared off at the rear. Compare that to the round wells on the Chevy. Out back, the design is far more similar. Both trucks appear to have rear-facing exhaust outlets. The taillights, too, look to have close to the same shape. A big bulge in the center of the tailgate likely hides a large GMC badge. We still don't have a firm reveal date, but look for some further news this auto show season. Related Video:
Mystery man buys fast food worker a new car
Tue, Apr 28 2015A mystery man bought a Tennessee fast food worker a new car. 34-year-old Jeff Smith told WKRN he was approached by an older stranger as he was exiting a grocery store. The two struck up a conversation about Smith's 1991 Geo Storm. The vehicle is falling apart; it has more than 350,000 miles on it, a cracked dashboard, no drivers side window, and a door that is literally being held closed by a small hook. The stranger asked Smith to follow him down the road to James Motors, but then asked the fast food worker to wait outside. Smith told WKRN, "He comes back out and says, 'How do you like that blue pickup?' I said. 'It looks great.' Then he said, 'Well, I bought it and it's yours now.' [...] It's just a blessing. It's the best thing that has ever happened to me." At first, Smith didn't believe this was even real. But the owner of James Motors showed up at the fast food restaurant where he works with the keys and title to the 2001 navy blue GMC Sonoma. The mysterious benefactor didn't want to be identified, but asked smith to do something nice for someone else in the future. Weird Car News GMC geo
