2001 GMC Sierra 2WD X-Cab 4-Dr SWB. I've had this truck for about 6 1/2 yrs. I bought it with 50K on it. This truck was pretty much a plain Jane SL work truck when I bought it. I've added lots of extras to this truck. I hate to sell it ,but I drive a lot now and have a car and barely drive it anymore. I will try and describe everything to the best of my ability. It has 20" Ultra Platinum Sentinel wheels w/ 3 Falken 285/50/20 tires. 1 is a used tire I bought after a blowout. It's a 275/55/20 Bridgestone Dueler H/L. ( which you can only tell its different by looking really close up) Its been lowered 2" in the back w/ bell tech drop shackles. ( which can be adjusted). It gives the truck a even stance. Hornet remote start system w/alarm and starter disable (2 remotes) . Air intake. Battery is brand new. Husky liner front floor mats. Pre wired for subs under back seat. Pioneer head unit with built in xm module ( display goes in and out but radio works fine) Rhino Lining sprayed in bed liner.Headlights recently polished and cleaned with bright white bulbs. Also has relay that makes all 4 lights come on with brights. Llumar 15% tint all around. Front Putco Racer " Denali" grille insert. Also have the billet GMC logo (not pictured) that goes in center of grille. Chrome shell is missing as you can see. It came unglued at the car wash and got ran over. Fuel sending unit was replaced a couple years ago. Truck also has exhaust system with flow master knockoff and dual hi flow Magnaflow S/S cats. ( no tip). The AC was working when I stopped driving a few months ago and now it doesn't. Just recently replaced AC tensioner assembly right before I stopped driving it. Got a feeling it's probably a simple fix to get it going. Also blower doesn't always work on #5 but is fine on rest. Other than a few small dings and scratches the only real damage is to the rear bumper which you can see in pics. I planned on a roll pan but never got around to it. I've tried to explain everything to the best of my ability. I will be more than happy to answer any questions.FYI I still owe some money on truck. Will provide notarized bill of sale until title can be sent to buyer.

Surprise! GM putting aluminum in next-gen pickups
Wed, Aug 5 2015Last month, General Motors launched a series of ads touting the benefits of steel over aluminum – specifically, with regard to the Chevy Silverado versus the Ford F-150. (Kind of. We're not sure what a grizzly bear has to do with anything.) We took issue with the ads, with editor in chief Mike Austin saying they "reek of insecurity, and distract from the Silverado's strengths that could be used for positive advertising." But what bothers us more, is that yet another report surfaced claiming anti-aluminum GM will indeed use the weight-saving material in its next-generation fullsize trucks. On Tuesday, GM announced a $877-million investment for its truck plant in Flint, MI. But Reuters says that huge overhaul is because the trucks will use "substantially different equipment than the tools GM uses today." The report specifically states, "People familiar with the company's plans say GM's next-generation pickups and SUVs will make use of various materials, including aluminum and lightweight steel, to shed weight and gain fuel efficiency to meet tougher federal standards." The Silverado already uses a few aluminum components in the engine and hood, and if more widespread use will help GM build its best fullsize trucks ever, then that's great. Honestly, we have no reason to doubt that aluminum will be used in the next Silverado and GMC Sierra. We just hope GM remembers that nothing is ever truly deleted from the bowels of the Internet when it launches the subsequent "look how great aluminum is!" campaign. Cadillac Celestiq, Lyriq, Hummer, other future GM electric cars: Here's everything we saw at ‘EV Day’
Wed, Mar 4 2020WARREN, Mich. — Today, General Motors held an “EV Day” event at its Warren, Michigan, campus to present its new “Ultium” battery technology, modular electric vehicle architecture and soon-to-come electric vehicles. Unfortunately, we were forbidden from bringing cameras into the event, so while we canÂ’t show you what we saw, we can tell you more about it. While we saw the previously teased Cadillac EV (which we now know to be called the Lyriq) and the GMC Hummer pickup teased during the Super Bowl, there were a number of other future cars at the event, which GM President Mark Reuss assured us are all real vehicles in the works. The biggest surprise came at the end of the event, though, in the Cadillac Celestiq electric sedan, which Reuss described as a future flagship that would be hand-built “very locally.” It had been hiding under a dark sheet all morning, with the front and rear illuminated Cadillac emblems shining from underneath. When the wraps came off, we saw a long, white, four-seat fastback sedan. The 23-inch wheels were pushed out to the very corners of the car, giving it what appeared to be a very long wheelbase. The model on the stage had no side mirrors or visible door handles. The grille mirrored that of the Lyriq crossover next to it, with integrated lighting in lieu of the usual mesh or slats youÂ’d see in an internal combustion car. The entire roof, all the way until it tapered to the tail of the vehicle, was tinted glass. In back, vertical tail lighting ran down the C-pillar before turning rearward across the top of the trunk. Inside, everything below the beltline of the windows — essentially all but the headrests and top portion of the steering wheel, was hidden from view. Behind the Celestiq, a large digital display showed a rendering of its interior. The dash consists of a pillar-to-pillar curved LED display serving as both instrument panel and infotainment system. Protruding forward between the front seats was another touchscreen that appeared to house some more controls, with open area, probably for storage, below it. The rear seats had the same sort of touchscreen between them. Built into the back of the front seats were a pair of rear-seat entertainment screens, much like we saw in the Lyriq. The door panels blended wood, metal and animated lighting to give character and a sense of opulence. GM interior design manager Tristan Murphy was on hand to tell us a bit more about the Celestiq.
GM phasing out light-duty 1500-series vans
Mon, 16 Jun 2014In the market for a fullsize van but don't need a heavy-duty model? You're in the minority, and you're also out of luck. That's because there are barely any more fullsize vans on the market with gross vehicle weight rating of less than 8,500 pounds, the threshold that separates light- and heavy-duty vans.
According to PickupTrucks.com, neither the Ford E-Series, Ram ProMaster, nor Mercedes-Benz Sprinter are available in light-duty versions. Few of the Ford Transit configurations are, either, and now General Motors is discontinuing production of the 1500-series Chevy Express and GMC Savana.
Apparently light-duty versions accounted for just 23 percent of Express sales and only 7 percent of Savanas. Add to that the fact that these 1500 versions were the only ones using the old generation of engines and suspension, and that the Wentzville plant near St. Louis, Missouri, is trying to make room for the next Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups, and the fate of the light-duty GM van was sealed.
