Thank you for looking at my 1967 GMC. This truck started life as a 3/4 ton truck . After a dozen plus years sitting on a farm in nebraska, I acquired this truck and began the hot rod project on it. The 3/4 ton suspension was shed in favor of half ton suspension. The donor vehicle for the suspension was a 1974 chevy truck (1500). The bumpers have been tucked and the rear bumper was notched for the exhaust tips. Power is produced by a 355 with a four bolt main, speedpro 10:1 pistons, COMP 268H camshaft, and a set of 487x heads. The engine is topped with a weiand action plus intake. Fuel is supplied by a 600 Edelbrock carb. The transmission is a five speed Getrag Manual from a 1996 chevy truck, The clutch is hydraulic. The truck has power steering. Stopping is achieved through a manual, hydraulic brake system. The front brakes use the rotors and the rear brakes use the drum system from the 1974 chevy truck. The radiator is an aftermarket aluminum unit from speedway. The rear differential is all original from the 1974 chevy and the gear ratio is unknown. The exhaust flows from the headers to the glass pack mufflers and exits out of the back of the truck through a nice set of chrome tips. The fuel tank is from a boat and holds about 22 gallons of fuel. The tank is mounted below the tool box and fills through the toolbox. The vent system could be improved as it is sometimes difficult to fill the tank. The truck has a new windshield and gasket. The windows are operated by the power units, POWER WINDOWS, and controlled by up down switches on the dash. The heater is mounted under the seat and is controlled by a primitive switch behind the the shifter. The heater unit is from the rear area of a retired ambulance. The seat is from a 1989 chevy truck. There is a burn hole in the seat from welding slag. The rockers and cab corners are new. The bodywork is a little rough. The truck is in the early stages of bodywork and shows alot through the satin black paint. The windshield wiper motor also is a little weak. The wipers move across the windshield slowly. This is a functional truck. I use it to haul all kinds of stuff from engines and car parts to an occasional load of brush to the dump. It has a digital speedo that i could not get to work. it has the correct speed sensor. Maybe you will have better luck with it. My number is 712-326-8213. Please try to call after 5 PM central time.

Best and Worst GM Cars
Thu, Apr 7 2022Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded. While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
Driving the Panamera and Mike's Rant | Autoblog Podcast #487
Thu, Sep 8 2016This week we cover some recent news like the upcoming Land Rover Discovery, updates to FCA's large car platform (including the Challenger), and talk about water injection. Then we go into what we've been driving - David just finished his time in the Porsche Panamera Turbo and Mike tried the GMC Acadia. And then Mike (who is still uncomfortable writing in the third person) goes on a rant about why automakers shouldn't specify which cars are aimed at women. The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want questionable buying advice, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. 2017 GMC Acadia coming to Detroit Auto Show
Thu, Jan 7 2016Well, it's about time. If there's one group of vehicles that are in serious need of an update, it's the GM Lambda crossovers. You know, the Chevy Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Buick Enclave. They're super old. Good thing, then, that the brand-new Acadia is coming to the Detroit Auto Show next week, as evidenced by this teaser image found on the company's Facebook page. There's not much to see here, except for an LED taillamp signature on what appears to be a much cleaner rear end. We expect the three-row CUV to feature all of the latest GM tech, including a robust infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. V6 power and optional all-wheel drive makes sense here, too, though we won't rule out some kind of four-cylinder option. When GM launched the Lambda crossovers, the Acadia arrived first in late 2006, alongside the now-discontinued (but still very much present in the current Acadia) Saturn Outlook. The Buick Enclave came next, and the Chevy Traverse arrived after that. It's unclear if GM will stick with this rollout plan, of course, but one thing's for sure: all-new versions of these CUVs cannot come soon enough. Related Video:
