1999 Gmc Safari Sl Extended Cargo Van 3-door 4.3l Astro Van Explorer Edition on 2040-cars
Hialeah, Florida, United States
Up for auction is my next door neighbors 1999 GMC Safari Explorer Edition van. She is an elderly woman who bought a smaller car to get around town. This van is in good condition considering the year. Has many power options such as power windows, power door locks (relay was removed because she kept locking herself out accidentally. I will try to get the relay so that you may put it to work again) cruise control, rear Air conditioning unit, Orignal full surround stereo system, 4 captain chairs, rear passenger seat swivels out for comfort, rear beach seat folds down and becomes a bed/sofa. Many aux and power outlets and cup holders through out the van. Has curtains and roof lighting. Its basically the trailers dream van or great for the family and kids. The motor is a Vortec V-6 very economical and reliable. Transmission with over drive great for the high way. Very comfortable ride and cheap for the wallet. Has new brakes all around, suspension is good, shocks maybe needed in the future but not at the moment. The tires are good but have only been used around town as you could calculate the mileage from when she bought it til now she doesn't travel much. I would recommend that you revise before putting extra mileage on them. Fresh oil change van was always very well maintained. The Air conditioning system is new and blows ice cold front and rear. Van has 260,714 miles on the body but motor was rebuilt at 205,000 miles and transmission was rebuilt at 190,000 miles. Previous owners before my neighbor were a elderly retired couple that bought the van to travel the united states. So most of the ware and tear is just long road trips. My neighbor hates to see it go because it is a great van for her and the grandkids but she herself has gotten old and it is to big for her to drive, she has been the owner sense 01/14/2003 and got it with 218,515 miles. as it says on the clear title. Seems like alot of mileage but i have driven this van myself and it rides like really good in my opinion considering it is a 14-15 year old van and original paint, it has been well maintained and kept as clean as possible by her. If you have any questions please ask before bidding or if you need any additional pictures let me know and i"ll be happy to get them to you. Van is sold "as is" "where is" and with no warranties implied. Van is also for sale locally so i reserve the right to end auction early. Deposit of $500 is due 24 hours after auction ending to be sent to my paypal account, remaining balance is due with in 7 days after auction ends. You may choose to pick up the van or transport it. If you choose to pick it up and drive it away you must transfer the title to your name. If you are out of state and choose to transport i will send you a bill of sale for you to sign and send back to me. This is for her records so she is not responsible for anything that may happen. |

Buyers ditching expensive European sedans to buy expensive American trucks
Mon, Feb 19 2018The New York Times ended the automotive week with a story that adds numbers and context to a range of other stories, from the crossover craze to the increasing median price of a new car to ever more grandiose pickup trucks. The NYT piece reveals that the shift to larger vehicles isn't merely about the average U.S. buyer swapping the midsize sedan for a Ford Edge. Luxury buyers are migrating from plush sedans to plush SUVs and trucks that creep close to six-figure prices, and the Detroit Three are running Treasury presses because of it. From 2013 to 2017, the truck category — everything from pickups to minivans — climbed from 30 percent of the market to 41 percent. In January of this year, trucks claimed 66 percent of new vehicle sales. At the milk-and-honey end of profits, GMC alone accounted for 11.3 percent of all vehicle sales over $60,000, not just trucks. That puts the luxury truck maker behind Mercedes-Benz and Ford, The Blue Oval's feasting on Lariat, King Ranch and Raptor versions of the F-150, which make up more than half of that pickup's sales, putting it ahead of Chevrolet, Porsche and Lexus on the high-dollar sales list. The average transaction price of a GMC in Denali trim last year was $56,000; it's easy to see why, when one dealer told the NYT he just swapped a 2012 BMW 550i for a $71,000 GMC Sierra Denali. That truck starts at $52,900. The NYT started its story with a buyer who took home a Ford Raptor instead of an Audi A6, and optioned that $50,020 Ford Raptor close to $80,000. Over at Lincoln, the new $72,055 Navigator — the one so popular that Ford will increase production — crossed hands for an average sale price of $77,000 in January. And a Jeep dealer told the NYT that the two $93,000 Trackhawks he had on his lot "won't be here more than a few weeks." While trucks head up in sales volume and price, cars are headed so viciously in the opposite direction that "the Detroit Three and even some foreign manufacturers acknowledge they are now losing money on many of the cars they sell." So ... get ready for a lot more crossovers and trucks. Related Video: Find out what vehicle is right for you. Give our Car Finder tool a try.
Pickup sales may hit 2M units for first time since 2007
Sat, 21 Sep 2013Even as fuel prices creep back up, trucks are still a hot item among new-vehicle shoppers. To see how popular pickup trucks still are, you don't have to look any further than how much effort automakers put into the continual one-upmanship of their trucks. Backing this fact up, USA Today is reporting that the segment could top two million sales this year - a total not matched since 2007, though still far from the pre-recession, three-million-unit levels.
Through August, the Ford F-Series continues to be the segment leader with almost 500,000 units sold, but the Chevy Silverado (328,269), Ram 1500 (234,642), GMC Sierra (122,232) and Toyota Tacoma (110,293) are all seeing at least 20-percent sales increases, helping to account for around 1.44 million truck sales so far this year - not including possible outliers like the Suzuki Equator and Chevy Avalanche.
This year alone, General Motors has completely redesigned its fullsize trucks, Ram and Toyota have significantly updated their offerings, the next-gen Ford F-150 will be out next year and Nissan is promising an all-new Titan around the same time with an eventual Cummins diesel under the hood. It would seem, then, that truck sales are poised to continue their upward trend.
GM also sheds parts from its pickups to boost payload ratings
Thu, 31 Jul 2014The row between Ford and Ram over who boasts the best-in-class tow rating for heavy duty pickups has revealed a number of things. Chief among them is a report that Ford removes items like the spare tire, jack, radio and center console from its vehicles in a bid to lower its base curb weight and therefore keep the truck's gross vehicle weight rating down.
For those that need a refresher, GVWR is the vehicle's curb weight plus its maximum payload. A lower GVWR allows Ford to station its F-450 among the so-called Class III pickups, despite the fact that internally, it has the makings of a more brutish Class IV truck.
Ford explains away these deletions, saying a customer could order their vehicle in such a manner. It has also come to light that Ford is not the only automaker to engage in such practices.
