My brother no longer drives his 1997 Safari van and has asked me to sell it for him. THIS VAN HAS LESS THAN 79,000 ORIGINAL MILES!!! He bought it in 1998 and is the 2nd owner. This van has the fully loaded SLT package with leather, power seats, power windows, power locks, 2 keyless entry fobs, and a power SUNROOF!!! The sunroof was professionally installed by the dealer and cost close to an additional $2000. The van has never given him any mechanical problems and he was always current with repairs and maintenance. There is a stack of receipts to prove this. He just installed 4 new BFGoodrich tires and had the Mass Air Flow Sensor replaced. My brother does not have children and the carpets and rear seats look NEW. The only seat that shows wear is the driver seat. The exterior paint is nice and shiny but does have misc nicks and small dents. There are some slight scuffs in the paint on the passenger side rear fender--as seen in close up pic. The heat works great but due to the cool weather I was unable to confirm that the A/C works 100%. I turned the A/C on and the compressor engaged so I know it works but it may be low on freon. The only thing that this van needs replaced is the shocks on the rear hatch. My brother said that the shocks quit working years ago and he always propped it up with a short pole. This van drives amazing and has plenty of power and seating for the hole family.

Buyer is responsible for pick up and delivery but I wouldn't be afraid to drive this vehicle across the country. Pick up from Kansas City International Airport can be arranged if you choose to drive it home. Or I can provide a shipping quote from one of a few professional transport drivers I know.

Thanks for looking. This is an exceptional van and you will not be disappointed.

GM diesel pickups first to undergo extra EPA, CARB testing

Tue, Sep 29 2015

The effects of Volkswagen's long-running diesel emissions evasion are starting to spill over to other automakers, but General Motors is taking things in stride. The 2.8-liter, four-cylinder Duramax in the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon is the first engine to get extra scrutiny by the Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board, Automotive News reports. Rather than just the usual in-lab test, it's also being checked on the road. However, the extra evaluation shouldn't have any impact on when the trucks with his mill hit dealers later this fall. "We're in our final stages of the EPA certification, and our launch is on track," Chevy spokesperson Otie McKinley tells Autoblog. The four-cylinder diesel in the trucks makes 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, and the automaker is touting low NOx production. In the announcement for the Colorado's specs, the company calls it "the cleanest diesel truck engine ever produced by General Motors." The tech includes exhaust gas recirculation to lower combustion temperatures and improve emissions. There's also a urea tank like on the bigger diesels for full-size trucks, and it gets refilled in time with oil changes. An indication on the instrument panel lets drivers know when that's needed, too. Even with the more demanding testing, the company doesn't seem too worried about the four-cylinder passing. "Part of our development process is on-road and off-road [laboratory] testing," Scott Yackley, Chevy Trucks assistant chief engineer, said to Automotive News. In the wake of the VW scandal, the EPA has pledged more rigorous testing. Before, on-road emissions evaluations were largely limited to heavy-duty vehicles, but the agency has decided to apply the checks more often to other models. There's also now greater cooperation with Canadian authorities.

GM recalling 117,000 sedans, crossovers, SUVs, pickups and vans

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

General Motors has issued a stop-sale to dealers and has notified the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration of its intention to recall 117,000 vehicles in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Of those vehicles, only 4,500 are at dealerships.
The affected vehicles include the Cadillac CTS and Chevrolet Impala sedans, fullsize SUVs (Cadillac Escalade, Chevy Tahoe and Suburban and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL), Lambda-platform crossovers (Chevy Traverse, Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia), heavy-duty pickups (Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD) and fullsize vans (Chevy Express and GMC Savana). The sedans and body-on-frame SUVs include model years 2013 and 2014, while the CUVs, heavy-duty pickups and vans are limited to MY2014.
GM confirmed the recall to Autoblog via an emailed statement (which we've included below). According to the statement, the issue at hand in what is the company's 69th recall of 2014 covers the chassis-control module. Automotive News is reporting that a problem in the chassis-control system could cause a short in the module, which could cause the engine to stall or fail to start. The fault could also affect the trailer-brake control, provided it's equipped.

2019 GMC Sierra 1500 taillights revealed in teaser

Wed, Feb 28 2018

With just one day before the GMC Sierra's reveal, GMC decided to show one last teaser of the full-size pickup truck. This time it shows the tail of the truck. And, by that we mean just the taillights and the badge, and playing with Photoshop revealed nothing else. The same goes for a profile-view teaser released slightly earlier than the rear-view image. Still, this is the clearest look we've had of the Sierra's rear lights, and they have a similar wrap-around element, possibly LED-lit, to that of the smaller GMC Canyon. It also looks like the lights will look wider from the rear than those on the Silverado, mainly because the GMC's lights don't have an indentation in the middle. GMC also released a teaser of the truck's profile. Both the head and taillights wrap farther around the sides than on the Silverado. The headlights are also less square than the outgoing Sierra, giving the truck a slightly sleeker look. We'll see the whole truck and get details on what powers it on March 1 when it's fully revealed. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
