I bought this from nieghbors... He has had it for a very long time. His health declined to where this vehicle became un used... I know it looks bad but it is a lot better then it looks. He and his wife are former teachers...Great ppl and wonderful neighbors. This was his truck he used for work for years... After they retired they used this to go to there summer home in the South Lake Tahoe area. Again I KNOW it looks bad but it runs great. I have only had it about 2 months. I WAS going to build a monster k5 out of it. I fell into another k5 that was way further along and bought it and now I am in the process of building THAT into the monster THIS was going to be..... Anyhow ...I don't need two. I didn't do ANYTHING to this one except register it in my name. I have the pink free and clear. I have driven it only a couple times and it is a very strong runner. Starts right up Choke works fine. This is a 1975 so if your looking for a great running 4x4 that you don't ever have to smog your looking at it. It runs great but it is also Smog Exempt! This engine is not the original it has a 350 in it and it has only about 15 k on it. If you don't know this... this is the LAST year that the whole top comes off. Has the original roll bar so you can tarp up a cab and tie it down looks great and fun to do in the summer. Has a receiver for towing. Swing out tire carrier and Jerry can holder. I don't have the Jerry can I asked if they still had it but he said it was long gone... I have not had it long but I know this is a good choice for a few reasons... Smog Exempt.... Runs great. Can be built into a wicked lifted fun truck. If your into that this is perfect. Its also good for ppl who drive in snow ice or dirt roads from time to time. Or everyday... No non op here.... This is ready to go. Fresh Tires... Brakes seem great. Steering is easy. Its body is what it is average for its age 38ish... I know it has been used ... loved and maintained....Its been a wonderful truck for years and still has a lot of life left in it.

GM recalling 22K Silverado and Sierra trucks for seat issue
Wed, 09 Oct 2013General Motors will recall 21,721 of its new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups over front seats that could move if the vehicle is hit from behind. Affected vehicles all feature manual adjustments for the two front seats, according to a report from Automotive News.
Of the nearly 22,000 vehicles covered under the action, the overwhelming majority - 18,972 -- were sold in the United States. A further 2,575 were sold in Canada, while 103 were shipped south of the border to Mexico. Finally, another 71 were sold outside North America altogether. As of right now, there are no reports of injuries due to the defect.
Naturally, Chevy and GMC dealers will make the repairs free of charge, although it's not clear as of this writing if GM will be notifying owners or just addressing the issue at the truck's first service.
2019 GMC Sierra 1500 spied in base trim level
Fri, May 11 2018When the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 half-ton pickup was revealed, it was shown in the ultra-deluxe Denali trim with its carbon fiber bed and trick tailgate. And thanks to spy shots, we've been able to see the more modest SLE a few months ago. Now we get to see it in the most plain work truck iteration thanks to the above photos. This Sierra doesn't appear to have any trim designation. The SLE we saw had a badge in the lower left of the tailgate, but none appear on this except "Sierra." This fits with the current trim scheme for the Sierra, which calls the basic one simply by its model name. In addition to less badging, this Sierra ditches most of the chrome found on other trim levels. The grille insert is plain black plastic, as are the fender vents, door handles and window trim. There aren't engine badges, either. Currently the only engines announced for the Sierra are the gasoline 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V8s and the diesel 3.0-liter six-cylinder. We would assume from the basic nature of this truck that it has the 5.3-liter V8. Nothing has been announced about a gasoline V6 for the new generation of Sierra and Silverado pickup trucks, despite a 4.3-liter V6 still being available on the 2018 model. Also, since this is a base Sierra, the bed is all steel and the tailgate is one big panel. Pricing still hasn't been revealed for the Sierra. But this and the other Sierra trims will go on sale in the fall, with pricing likely announced sometime in-between. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. GMC Syclone spools up a storm on Jay Leno's Garage
Mon, Jul 27 2015A storm was brewing on American roads in the early 1990s. That's when Detroit's automakers were producing some of the hottest performance trucks ever devised – models like the Ford Lightning, GMC Typhoon, and its flyweight pickup sibling, the GMC Syclone. Jay Leno just happens to have one of the latter in his garage, and took it out to showcase in this latest video segment. The Syclone was an exercise in absurdity, and could not only trounce any other pickup on the road, it could outrun anything else GM made and just about anything else on the road – beating Ferraris and Porsches off the line. In a pickup, for crying out loud. The kicker is that its engine wasn't such a monster, either: under the hood sat a 4.3-liter turbocharged V6 pumping out what would seem by today's standards to be an adequate 280 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Even the smaller of the EcoBoost V6s available in today's Ford F-150 produces more than that. But in a lightweight, compact pickup, those figures were enough to propel the Syclone to 60 in 4.3 seconds and run the quarter-mile in 13.6 seconds. Long before the dune-jumping Ford F-150 SVT Raptor or even the Viper-powered Dodge Ram SRT-10, GM made fewer than 3,000 Syclones based on the compact Sonoma (sister to the Chevy S-10) and another 4,700 of the Typhoon, which was mechanically similar but more practical (albeit heavier) wagon bodywork from the Jimmy. But as Jay aptly points out, the Syclone was the one you wanted. Scope it out in the ten-minute video clip above.
