GMC Terrain Nightfall Edition is murdered-out for the masses

We've lost track of how many special edition Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups there have been over the past few years. But while some special editions can be kitschy, there's nothing overtly bad about the GMC's Nightfall line. We've already seen the blacked-out look on Canyon Nightfall and Sierra All Terrain X pickups, and now, it's being applied to the Terrain. As with the trucks, the Terrain Nightfall's changes are simple: the chrome-heavy finish is replaced with gloss-black accents where applicable. That's what you'll find on the grille surround, the front and rear fascia accents, the license-plate surround, mirror caps, and roof rack. Like Jay Z said, all black everything. Except for the wheels, of course – those have machined faces with black spokes. The grille inserts aren't strictly black either (they're charcoal), and as counterintuitive as it may seem, owners can choose from three body paints in addition to Onyx Black (Summit White, Graphite Gray, and Crimson Red). The Terrain Nightfall Edition will be offered on the SLE-2 and SLT trims, with prices to be announced closer to its fall 2016 on-sale date. GMC introduces Canyon Nightfall Edition for the steathly and stylish

It may be just now arriving at dealers, but the 2015 GMC Canyon has just received its very first special edition trim, although the stealthy Nightfall Edition is, in the greater scheme of aesthetic upgrades, pretty basic. GMC has blacked out the truck's grille and side steps, added a spray-in bedliner as standard, fitted new 18-inch "Dark Argent" wheels with black inserts, a polished exhaust tip, remote start and automatic climate control. Naturally, the Nightfall Edition is only available with Onyx Black paint. Customers interested in the blacked-out pickup will need to choose between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, although they'll be freed the burden of picking a trim level or body style, as the Nightfall is limited to the mid-grade SLE with the four-door crew cab arrangement. "The new Canyon Nightfall Edition expands the Canyon lineup and gives style-conscious customers another choice," GMC's vice president of sales and marketing, Duncan Aldred, said in a statement. "Importantly, customers get the great looks of the Canyon Nightfall Edition and its unique content at a greater value than ordering the features separately." GMC has not released any information about the price of the Nightfall Edition, or when it will arrive in dealerships. 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE spy shots show new bumpers and tailgate

When the new 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 debuted two weeks ago, GM's truck division showed off just the two top trims, SLT and Denali. While the Denali might be the flagship Sierra, it's not likely to be the volume seller (though Denali models makes up almost a third of total GMC sales). These new spy shots show off the midrange SLE trim. It takes a more conservative, toned-down appearance compared to its brash brethren. The most obvious visual changes come at the front and rear. That big grille remains, but there are just three horizontal bars rather than the busier design from the SLT or Denali. The fog lights have been removed, too, though the C-shapped LED accent in the headlights has carried over. Out back, the SLE trim makes do without the trick MultiPro tailgate (it's limited to SLT and Denali models). It also has a different bumper as the exhaust exits just behind the right wheel. Badging on the fenders indicates that the truck has the updated 5.3-liter V8, meaning it's paired with an eight-speed transmission. The 6.2-liter V8 gets the new 10-speed auto. A 3.0-liter diesel inline-six will be available sometime down the road. GMC hasn't announced pricing, fuel economy or power ratings, but expect to see something in the next few months.
