THE GOOD:
-car runs great-well balanced-drives and handles like new
-A/C works
-4 Wheel drive works
-sunroof works
-after market DVD player for rear seating only works with headphones and disc is difficult to eject
-heat works
-seat heaters work
-windshield wipers front and rear work
-defrost works
-includes full size spare-no longer mounts beneath undercarriage
-body and paint is in great shape for the year of the vehicle with the exception of the rear cargo door (see photo)

THE ISSUES:
-truck has electrical issues, ever since the aftermarket stereo was installed by Circuit City, the electrical system has not functioned properly. The stereo does not currently work. The aftermarket CD deck and all aftermarket speakers are installed but do not function. The amps and subs have been removed. The on-star system was disabled during installation of the aftermarket stereo and does not function.
-the ABS brake light and (!) emergency brake light on the dash are illuminated although breaks function properly.
-when trying to restart the truck immediately after running, the key must be turned back then turned forward and held for 20 seconds before vehicle will restart. The truck always starts after this procedure after the truck has been running. If the truck has been sitting for any extended length of time the regular ignition process will start the truck. We have been told this is an anti theft device malfunction but have been unable to rectify.
- the truck has a small oil and or transmission fluid leak. It is minor enough that the fluids rarely have to be replenished but clearly noticeable.
-after running the truck has a noticeable smell. We believe this to be antifreeze.
-the truck was rear ended in May 2011 and the rear door has a dent that was not repaired.
-the plastic trim on the doors is either in the process of or has already come off, as seen in the pictures posted.
-the passenger door does not lock/unlock via the remote or electric lock and must be done manually.
-the tint on the driver's door is off but all other windows are in good condition.
- the leather seat is ripped as seen in the photos.
-the ceiling has marker
- the rear tailgate door does not stay up on its own.
-there is permanent yellow paint on rear quarter panel, see photo  We have used this truck for both work and as a family vehicle. Since new, we have replaced the transmission around 150,000 miles which was purchased and installed by aGMC certified mechanic (same dealership where vehicle was purchased new). The fuel pump has been replaced twice. Other then this, only regular maintenance; ie. tires, battery, etc. Overall, the truck has been very reliable.

2022 Rivian R1T vs. 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning vs. GMC Hummer EV Pickup | How they compare on paper

Tue, Sep 28 2021

The 2022 Rivian R1T has arrived, ushering in the era of the production electric pickup truck. The Rivian reviews are in, and spoiler alert: They're pretty good. Curious how the new battery-powered truck stacks up to its forthcoming competitors? Well, you've come to the right place. Rivian beat all of Detroit's big automakers to market in the half-ton segment, but probably not by the margin the startup would have liked. Ford's answer is the F-150 Lightning, which is due to enter production early next year, coming hot on the heels of GM's first entry into the space – the GMC Hummer EV pickup – which is scheduled to come off the line late this fall. While all three are pickups, they're aimed at distinctly different buyers, as a perusal of their specifications will reveal. Let's have a look, shall we?   Disclaimer: Before we dive in on this one, we'd like to note that while we've made our best effort to verify the specs provided, the Rivian is brand-new and the others are still in the prototype phase. Some of these figures may be inaccurate or may simply change before production. This is all hypothetical until you can actually cross-shop them anyway, right? Cool. End disclaimer. Let's start with the powertrains. They're all battery-electric trucks engineered on a modular rear-wheel-drive configuration engineered to accommodate (theoretically, anyway) up to four electric drive units. Rivian actually makes the most use of this with a quad-motor setup producing 835 horsepower and 908 pound-feet of torque with its high-output initial model. GMC's three-motor Hummer has the R1T beat with its estimated 1,000-horsepower output, while Ford's (also three-motor) comes in with a far more modest 563 horses. This is an excellent illustration of our above point that these are not all engineered for the same crowd. Ford's F-150, which comes in at a lower price point, is meant to be far more mainstream, as its power output suggests.  This theme continues when we look at the dimensions. Despite the image "Hummer" may conjure, GMC's entry actually needs the shallowest parking space. The Rivian is right behind it, with the work-truck-spec Ford extending more than a foot longer than either. What the Hummer lacks in length, it makes up for in girth. It's the widest by a good 5 inches. The Rivian is only slightly pudgier than the F-150, but it's much closer at that end of the scale.

GMC teases Hummer EV's removable roof panels

Wed, May 20 2020

Today was supposed to be the day that GM took the wraps off its GMC Hummer EV. We were told as much during the Super Bowl commercial, but GM revised it to an undecided future date, citing the coronavirus as the reason. Instead of the big reveal, we have a teaser.  The Hummer EV is going to feature removable roof panels, and now we get a better look at them. There are four roof panels and a front T-bar that come out of the truck. You can see what that looks like in the video at the top of this post. Comparisons to Jeep are obvious as the open-air experience is likely similar to the Gladiator and Wrangler with their hardtop roof panels removed. That zero-limits slogan makes a bit of sense from this respect. With the sheer number of roof panels, we suspect a single person will be able to remove them alone. In addition to the video of the roof, we get a small peek at the massive digital screens the Hummer will be sporting. Check them out at the bottom of the photo below. They appear to be two large slabs, separate from each other. Other details are scarce on the ground. We’re not sure when the Hummer will make its grand entrance at this point, but are still excited to see the 1,000-horsepower truck hit the road. GMC is still advertising the 0-60 mph time of just 3 seconds, too. The latest tidbit of news suggests that further teasers might be coming, so we could be in for a rather drawn out reveal process. Our senior green editor John Snyder got to see the GMC Hummer in person earlier this year at GMÂ’s EV Day and described it like this: “ItÂ’s a big, off-road-ready pickup complete with giant all-terrain rubber and tow hooks. It features removable roof panels for access to the open sky, which appears to be depicted in the teaser above. It features sail panels behind the C-pillars, similar to those on the Chevy Avalanche and Honda Ridgeline. Its bed was concealed with a tonneau cover, but it sported GMCÂ’s MultiPro tailgate that we first saw on the Sierra Denali. Interior photos showed a spacious interior with blocky shapes, squared hourglass vents that mirror the look of the taillights and a lunar theme that incorporates the topography of the Sea of Tranquility into things like the floor mats and speaker covers. It also has a large infotainment screen as well as a digital instrument panel.” Related video:
