This discounted Denali is a great deal for someone looking for a running SUV to get from point A to point B. I've owned the vehicle for less than two years, half of which the vehicle sat in a garage while I was traveling. I purchased the vehicle to relocate from Florida back to Michigan (highway miles) and have since moved to the DC area where I am only in need of the Metro (subway) transportation system and no longer have a need for a vehicle and no where to keep it long or shot term.
This is a good basic transportation special. The A/C doesn't work and I haven't had it checkout so unaware of what it takes to fix. The heat doesn't blow very hot but rather warm. The actual milage of the SUV is unknown and was stuck at 102, 868 when I purchased the truck. I have put an estimated 7k miles on the vehicle since I purchased it. The SUV runs very well. It was normal wear-and-tear on the driver's seat (slight tear in the seat) Bose speakers, Blaupunkt system, a video screen in the rear (non working). I'm not a mechanic and never had the truck checked from in detail because it always ran and didn't give me any problems, so I'm not sure of the extent of the repairs needed for the things mentioned or other potential issues. But it has an extremely smooth ride.
I purchased the Denali in Florida and it has no rust. As mentioned above, I am not the original owner of the vehicle and I have no mechanical knowledge or interest so I can't speak to intense details about what is good and bad. For me, it was a good turn-key transportation at a good price and selling it to someone looking for the same; a working, smooth riding vehicle for under $3k. This could be a spectacular SUV for someone with mechanical ability or an interest in total restoration or even re-selling. The SUV also has the Cadillac Escalade rims. The Kelly Blue Book value in only "fair" condition is $5,540. This is a deal you can't beat. To purchase the vehicle, the buyer is required to make a non-refundable paypal deposit of $500 and complete the transaction by bank to bank wire transfer at which time title will be sent registered mail overnight. Google Earth helps sheriff's department find stolen car [w/video]
Sun, 29 Sep 2013A stolen-vehicle case opened back in March was recently solved with the help of a property owner using Google Earth, a virtual globe and mapping service similar to Google Maps, ABC News reports. The man, who remains anonymous, found the stolen GMC Yukon while he was surveying his property in George County, Mississippi, using the map service and, judging by the top-down satellite image, thought he found a "shooting house" on his hunting grounds.
When he drove out to the suspicious structure, he realized it actually was a sport utility vehicle wedged in thick brush about 70 yards from the nearest road, so he called the police.
Law enforcement officers had arrested a female suspect in the case earlier based on eyewitness accounts, but didn't prosecute her because the stolen SUV hadn't been found. Ben Brown, a lieutenant detective with the George County Sheriff's Department, says that he ran the plates and confirmed the SUV was the stolen vehicle the department had been looking for.
GMC Canyon's jump seats innovate to keep kids safe [w/video]
Sat, 03 May 2014We dig simple solutions to problems. There's something highly gratifying about making a minute change to fix something, rather than tearing up the playbook. That's what GMC has done with the new Canyon midsize pickup.
When putting a car seat in, car seat manufacturers require that at least 80 percent of the seat's base fit on the bottom cushion. That's a big problem in extended-cab pickups like the Canyon, which feature jump seats with shorter bottom cushions, in place of the larger, more traditionally designed bench.
The Canyon gets around this with extendable jump seats - simply pop out the headrest and slot it into the bottom seat cushion, and the truck can now easily accommodate a child's seat.
