Wilmington, North Carolina, United States
Here is THE Restored 93 Yukon SLT you have been looking for - Immaculate Condition Almost Everything is New or Refurbished New on the Vehicle NEW CHEVY ENGINE (not rebuilt but new from Chevy with warranty) This vehicle was hand selected for restoration from the RARE 2 door models out there. The Reason this car was selected was NO RUST, No Accidents or incidents on the Carfax report. This truck was not a mud truck, nor suspension jacked to the moon, etc. Everything was done professionally to bring this truck back to current condition and it simply is an extremely nice truck, very rare with this Gun Metal Gray Color! These don't come around often in this condition. THIS IS A 4WD TRUCK - 4x4 Here is a list of the items completed: EXTERIOR NEW PAINT JOB COMPLETE (warranty) BRAND NEW CHROME OEM GRILLE - Complete Facelift INCLUDING NEW GMC EMBLEM NEW TIRES 20 Inch BZO HUMMER RIMS NEW VALANCE NEW MOLDINGS NEW GRAPHICS NEW HEADLIGHTS & BULBS NEW RUNNING LAMPS AND BULBS NEW TAIL LIGHTS & BULBS UPGRADED WIRING FOR LIGHTS ALL AROUND NEW CHROME DOOR HANDLES NEW CHROME SIDE MIRROR COVERS MECHANICAL NEW ENGINE (Warranty) NEW ENGINE WIRING COMPLETE NEW FRONT END WORK NEW WATER PUMP NEW IDLER ARM NEW PITMAN ARM NEW BALL JOINTS NEW BRAKE CALIPERS NEW BRAKE PADS FRONT NEW FAN CLUTCH NEW SERPENTINE BELT NEW SPARK PLUGS NEW PLUG WIRING NEW AC ADAPTORS NEW BREATHER SETUP / NEW AIR FILTER NEW VALVE COVERS NEW BATTERY NEW EXHAUST (Dual) NEW VACUUM LINES RE-ROUTED FOR MAXIMUM TUNING COMPLETE TUNE FRESH OIL AND FLUIDS COMPLETE TRANSMISSION TUNE AND NEW SOLENOIDS (Tranny was replaced previously) NEW INTERIOR NEW UPGRADED FRONT SEATING (Both sides Electric) - NEW CUSTOM COVERS FROM IGGEE NEW REAR SEAT CUSTOM COVER FROM IGGEE COMPLETE NEW CARPET INTERIOR - CAB AND REAR HATCH AREA ALL INTERIOR TRIM WAS RESTORED TO EXCELLENT CONDITION INTERIOR DASH PAINTED NEW STAINLESS SCREWS WERE USED IN ALL REPLACEMENTS All Options Work Power Seats Electric Windows Electric Doors Electric Rear Glass Electric Door Locks Remote Lock/Unlock Power Cruise Control Factory Radio is NOT hooked up but is installed for Original Match- Recommend Aftermarket of Choice This is an SLE Model Restored to an SLT, VERY, VERY, HARD TO FIND This 2 door Yukon is one of a kind, in almost new condition. Look at the photos. The interior was mostly gutted and redone from scratch, the exterior was completely redone including paint, new front grille, suspension leveling, new tires and rims, new trim and moldings, even stickers and decals. The mechanical was EXTENSIVE and EXPENSIVE, but completed by certified GM mechanics. While this truck is from 1993, it shows and runs like it is a brand new truck! It is READY TO ROLL! Items of note: This is NOT a NEW Truck. This is an 21 year old truck. These trucks are solid and will last forever. They are made out of steel, not plastic, and are very safe because of it! I brought this truck up to date on all mechanical (including new power) and functional items and it rides and drives terrific. A COMPLETELY NEW ENGINE was installed and completed August 19, 2014. Most of this truck is new because most everything was updated as you can see in the list above! 90% of the truck parts are new. Aftermarket parts are the rims and Custom made Seat Covers only (and previous speaker system). The headliner was not replaced and does have a couple nicks here and there but I did not see that as a big deal. If you want that replaced to new, I can have that done for you for an additional charge. The door panels were not replaced but brought up to speed with new attachments, clips, and paint. Dash has a couple of hairline cracks, not a biggie and in no need of replacement. If the hairline cracks bother you, a new dash cover can be placed in the truck for $140, but again, they are minor, look at photos. The rims are not new (maybe 18 months old best I can figure) and have minor imperfections but as you can see in the pictures, it is hardly noticeable. I am missing one small trim piece by the passenger door (hides carpet edge only) about 6-8 inches in length only because I could not find that piece in our area. That piece is purely cosmetic and so easy to pop on (and might cost 50 Cents). The aftermarket window tint in the rear is scratched as I did not replace that (it was installed by previous owner). The truck had an aftermarket radio in it that did not work. I pulled that radio out and left the opening for the new owner to install and personalize what stereo system they choose to put in there. My theory is why put something in the truck a new owner may wish they were not paying for and would personalize anyway. I did leave all the monster cable and wiring to the speaker systems in place. The Installed Speaker systems are nice and expensive, aftermarket equipment. This is a Really Nice Truck. I restored another one a few months ago and the new owners are tickled pink, aka VERY HAPPY with what they received. Most folks are shocked at how nice my trucks are, this one took a lot of time and money, and it shows. Lastly, The truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction early should it sell before auction ends. Please bid strong, this is an exceptional truck like no other. YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER RARE 2 DOOR IN THIS KIND OF SHAPE AND CONDITION 4x4 Here is a Walk Around Video (Pardon the sound, a summer storm was whipping the wind around while filming) |

Ward's releases 10 Best Interiors list for 2014
Thu, 10 Apr 2014While we're still a ways off from the automotive awards season proper, where things like North American Car and Truck of the Year, Motor Trend's Car of the Year and Car and Driver's Ten Best are named, that doesn't mean there aren't trophies being handed out to deserving automakers. Ward's 10 Best Interiors being one of them.
As the name might imply, the magazine focuses on the very best interior treatments in the US market. Whereas some awards purposely exclude extreme, high-dollar offerings, Ward's considers them - the only requirement is that a vehicle has a "new or significantly redesigned interior."
Ward's offered up the list of winners in simple, alphabetical order, and it only seems fair to do the same:
Disabled man realizes dream of driving with converted pickup truck
Tue, Sep 22 2015A man with a devastating illness is mobile once again thanks to a heavily modified pick up truck. He hopes he can help others in his situation gain the freedom of mobility they need to lead a normal life. Chris Sauerbaum has a physical disability resulting from chronic inflammatory polyneuropathy, a form of muscular dystrophy where the sufferer's immune system attacks their nerves. Sauerbaum lost both of his legs and is bound to a wheelchair. After 11 years of trying, he finally has a vehicle that he can drive. "You might as well be driving a Lamborghini," Sauerbaum told the York Dispatch as the driver side door extended to a lift to accommodate Sauerbaum's wheelchair. "Everyone comes up and talks to you. You come out looking like a Transformer." It wasn't easy getting transportation that fit his needs. First he bought a Chrysler PT Cruiser, which wasn't large enough to handle the equipment needed to convert the car for a legless driver. In 2013, Sauerbaum and his wife Heather Sloat appealed to local businesses and friends for donations. They raised $10,000 and were able to put a downpayment on a GMC Sierra. The truck then underwent $91,000 worth of upgrades. It was completely outfitted for Sauerbaum, with a large lift to bring his wheel chair up to the driver's seat and joysticks doing the work of peddles and the steering wheel. New York's Office of Vocational Rehabilitation paid for the conversion. "Think of it as a big remote controlled car. An 8,000 pound R/C car," Sauerbaum told the Dispatch. After a week and a half of learning the controls, Sauerbaum was able to drive with confidence again. He will no long need to rely on his wife to get him two and from work, an 80-mile trip each day. Sauerbaum and Sloat hope to start a nonprofit called Drive for Independence that will assist other wheelchair-bound people with the costs of getting a converted vehicle that suits their needs. "It's just one piece of the puzzle to get people to work," Sloat told the Dispatch. Related Video: Weird Car News GMC Driving Ownership Truck Videos disabled ms
Satisfaction with dealer service rises, Lexus and GMC are tops
Thu, 14 Mar 2013During the economic downturn, many car dealerships counteracted their slowing income by focusing on things that would set them apart from competition - things like the quality of customer service they provide. When the economy picked up and more sales and service followed, many also first invested those funds back into the business, improving their dealership facilities and service centers.
It looks like those investments are paying off, as J.D. Power and Associates' latest Customer Service Index Study shows that overall consumer satisfaction with dealer service has increased to 797 (on a 1,000-point scale), up from 787 in 2012 and 29 points higher than the score in 2011. The study also finds that people are more satisfied with the service they get at dealerships compared to independent service providers, despite the much higher average out-of-pocket cost per visit ($118 vs. $44).
Note, however, that this study only looks at how people are treated by a dealer's service department during the first three years of ownership (the survey is based on responses from 91,000 owners and lessees of 2008 to 2012 model year vehicles), so we're talking about the experience had when bringing a car in for repair or maintenance work, most likely under warranty. In fact, maintenance work is increasing in share and accounted for 77 percent of service visits (up from 72 percent in 2012 and 63 percent in 2011). This helps explain why customer satisfaction has also risen, since a properly maintained car is one that's less likely to require a dealer visit for an unexpected repair.
