This is a beautiful 1998 GMC Suburban SLE, 4X4.  It has lived in Minnesota for just two years and has never been in the snow, and has always been stored in a climate controlled garage year round.  Came from California originally and spent some time in Arizona before coming to Minnesota.  As you can see by the photos, this is one of the cleanest Suburbans you will find anywhere.  It has the very best in lifts, the RCD Torsion Lift, (4 - 6"?) bit still fits under a standard 7' garage door.  Tires are Dick Cepek, Radial F-C II, 33 X 12.50R15LT.  Wheels are also Dick Cepek, model DC-2.  Spare tire is a fully matching Cepek wheel and new tire.  The vehicle has cold AC with a new Compressor in 2014, and yes the rear AC and rear heater work like new.  Vehicle has power windows and power locks, all working perfectly, and comes with 3 key fobs.  This is a 350 V8 engine that looks absolutely new it is so clean.  Look at the pictures - the engine compartment looks like it could be in a vehicle sitting on a GMC showroom.  You will be amazed at the cleanliness you see on this vehicle.  I have included photos of the front and rear and back door corners just so that you can see some of the detail you will see when this vehicle is inspected with a critical eye.  The paint is original as far as we can see.  The vin tag on the door jamb has never been taped off for painting, and adds a lot of credibility to the originality of the paint.  Recent additions include New Plug wire set, New Dist cap, New Rotor, New Plugs, New Front calipers/pads, New Fuel Pump, New Fuel Filter, New Water Pump, New Radiator, New Battery, Fresh Allignment, Flush and lube both differentials, Flush transmission and fill with synthetic fluid.  This list goes on and on - New oil filter, New oil adaptor gasket, and New Bushwacker Fender Flares.  New transfer case output shaft seal - this vehicle does not leak - your garage floor will stay clean with this in your garage.  Bilstein shocks, nothing but the best has been used on this vehicle.  Starts and runs perfect, goes down the road straight and smooth.  Vehicle has like new stock factory exhaust system, so you can talk to your family when you're going down the road.  The odometer reads 173 thou - but it looks like maybe 75 thou or less to us - you look at the vehicle and see for yourself.  It's the cleanest you will find, bar none - bring CASH, no checks here.  The price is very close to being firm - but let's talk about what you think.   Call before bidding for any and all questions.  Call Jerry day time hours in the central time zone 8 to 8 please.   Sixonetwo, sevenfiveone, five0sevennine will get to me.  We are located just 30 minutes from the MSP international airport, and if you want to fly in to have a look we'll come and pick you up. If you are looking for an outstanding example of a nice Suburban, then this is the one you have been looking for.  Wouldn't sell it, but found a Blazer in the same condition that I like better, so this has to go.

NOTE: Vehicle is listed for sale on other venues, so could be removed from this site without notice.

GMC Syclone spools up a storm on Jay Leno's Garage

Mon, Jul 27 2015

A storm was brewing on American roads in the early 1990s. That's when Detroit's automakers were producing some of the hottest performance trucks ever devised – models like the Ford Lightning, GMC Typhoon, and its flyweight pickup sibling, the GMC Syclone. Jay Leno just happens to have one of the latter in his garage, and took it out to showcase in this latest video segment. The Syclone was an exercise in absurdity, and could not only trounce any other pickup on the road, it could outrun anything else GM made and just about anything else on the road – beating Ferraris and Porsches off the line. In a pickup, for crying out loud. The kicker is that its engine wasn't such a monster, either: under the hood sat a 4.3-liter turbocharged V6 pumping out what would seem by today's standards to be an adequate 280 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Even the smaller of the EcoBoost V6s available in today's Ford F-150 produces more than that. But in a lightweight, compact pickup, those figures were enough to propel the Syclone to 60 in 4.3 seconds and run the quarter-mile in 13.6 seconds. Long before the dune-jumping Ford F-150 SVT Raptor or even the Viper-powered Dodge Ram SRT-10, GM made fewer than 3,000 Syclones based on the compact Sonoma (sister to the Chevy S-10) and another 4,700 of the Typhoon, which was mechanically similar but more practical (albeit heavier) wagon bodywork from the Jimmy. But as Jay aptly points out, the Syclone was the one you wanted. Scope it out in the ten-minute video clip above.

2018 GMC Terrain loses the V6 and gains a diesel for an all-turbo lineup

Mon, Jan 9 2017

You may have noticed that compact crossovers are kind of a big deal these days. After eight years on sale, GMC is finally getting a new version of its littlest ute, the Terrain, for 2018. And it can't arrive a moment too soon. The 2018 GMC Terrain made its debut tonight on the eve of the 2017 Detroit Auto Show. The 2018 Terrain looks to be completely new, and is now built on GM's D2XX platform. It again shares a platform and major components with the Chevrolet Equinox; like the 2018 Equinox, the Terrain will offer three engines, including two turbocharged gas four-cylinders and a turbodiesel four. The base 1.5-liter gas four makes 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, while the 2.0-liter inline-four puts out 252 hp and 262 lb-ft. (The 2.0 basically takes the place of the 3.6-liter V6 offered in the outgoing Terrain.) GM's 1.6-liter diesel four will also be available, making 137 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque in this application. Both gas engines will be paired with nine-speed automatic transmissions, while the diesel gets a six-speed auto. No fuel-economy claims have been made, but we expect the new models to outdo the current versions, with the diesel reaching around 40 mpg on the EPA highway cycle. View 14 Photos The new Terrain's design is equally fresh and does a good job of differentiating it from the related Equinox, with details very reminiscent of the new GMC Acadia. The lighting elements are even more intricate here, with LEDs used for the daytime running lights and taillamps. GMC designers gave it the floating-roof look, which is successful aside from the odd placement of a trim badge at the base of the D-pillar. Terrains will again be available in SL, SLE, SLT, and range-topping Denali trim, with the latter featuring the signature satin chrome grille, chrome accents, and monochrome paint scheme GMC uses on all of its top-trim models. The interior sees an upgrade in materials and a more-thoughtful layout, with a new version of GM's Electronic Precision Shift gear selector using buttons and switches instead of a lever to open up more space on the center console. Both front- and all-wheel-drive models get a Traction Select system that will tune the shift points and throttle points for specific driving conditions via a knob at the rear of the console. On models equipped with all-wheel drive, a front-drive mode disconnects the rear axle to improve fuel economy.

2019 GMC Sierra CarbonPro Edition pricing starts above $65,000

Fri, May 17 2019

GMC is hard at work building carbon fiber beds for its CarbonPro trucks, so it's fitting that the company has finally released pricing for the 2019 GMC Sierra CarbonPro Edition. It's not cheap by any measure. The most "affordable" for 2019 is the AT4 version starting at $66,635. It's also available in Denali trim, and that version starts at $70,020. Both represent an increase of $8,000 to $9,000 more over the base AT4 and Denali models. That may seem like a lot to go from a steel bed to a carbon fiber one, but you're getting more than the bed for that money. GMC also includes unique badging, a Bluetooth bed speaker, rear-camera mirror, surround vision cameras, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, automatic headlights, power side steps, a sunroof, trailer tire pressure monitoring and a color heads-up display to both models. The AT4 specifically gets a Bose sound system, navigation, parking sensors and a cat-back exhaust, too. The Denali adds unique 22-inch wheels. Both only come with the 6.2-liter V8 and 10-speed automatic. To equip a regular GMC Sierra AT4 similarly to the CarbonPro Edition, the price comes out to $64,110. The Denali comparably equipped to the CarbonPro is $67,940. So the bed itself is about $2,000 to $3,000. The 2019 GMC Sierra CarbonPro Edition trucks should be reaching dealers very soon. They will soon be supplanted by the 2020 version, which will add the new 3.0-liter diesel inline-six as an engine option. The AT4 CarbonPro will get some extra black accents for 2020, too.
