If you’ve been wanting a vehicle that can go just about anywhere (4X4), haul eight people comfortably and want up to 20 MPG on the highway and you want a nice and clean example of this rare beast then this might be the vehicle for you. It’s my Diesel Powered GMC Suburban. This is the last year this truck was produced and it’s a good one, read on for a full description.

Mechanically this truck is just about as good as you get for age. Engine starts up smoothly with no smoke or hesitation. The transmission shifts excellent and the 4X4 options high and low are working correctly. It has BFGoodrich Tires which have about 70% tread and are wearing evenly, the brakes stop straight with no pulse or pulling, the alignment is also straight. The front end and suspension is extremely tight and it It drives well. The undercarriage is dry without any major leaks or rust problem areas. Oil pressure is good, all gauges are working, the engine runs smooth without any blow by or smoking. The coolant is very clean, same with the transmission oil. It’s quite obvious the truck has been well cared for. This truck needs nothing mechanically.

Cosmetically this Suburban is excellent for the age. I’m a very picky guy and I am very impressed with the condition of this truck, it appears to have been garaged. No major dents or scratches or damage that jumps out at you anywhere on this truck, but please remember it’s 15 years old, it does have a tiny door ding here and there, light paint scratches and it’s fair share of stone chips around, no expect museum quality but overall outstanding in my opinion.  Paint looks and shines very well and all the door panels and hood line up perfect, never had any previous paint or body work done. No door sag or rust under doors. The interior is the same way, very nice for the age and mileage. Seats, carpets, headliner and door panels are nice without wear out or major damage, the only thing that you can flaw on the interior is the drivers side carpets show a few light stains.  All power options are working well, heat and a/c are working, spare tire looks to have been never used. I have one set of keys and remotes.  Any GM fanatic would be proud to have this truck sitting in their driveway.

Here is an opportunity to own a piece of GM history that are getting harder and harder to find in this condition and remember this is this is a pampered all original truck in great shape all around.I have it priced according to it’s condition and I believe it will sell for the listed price, so please no lowball offers. You can find these cheaper but I think you will be hard pressed to find one in better condition If you want to talk about the truck feel free to give me a call at 717-991-8991 my name is Travis. I have a clean and clear title in hand and ready to sell.

GM phasing out light-duty 1500-series vans

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

In the market for a fullsize van but don't need a heavy-duty model? You're in the minority, and you're also out of luck. That's because there are barely any more fullsize vans on the market with gross vehicle weight rating of less than 8,500 pounds, the threshold that separates light- and heavy-duty vans.
According to PickupTrucks.com, neither the Ford E-Series, Ram ProMaster, nor Mercedes-Benz Sprinter are available in light-duty versions. Few of the Ford Transit configurations are, either, and now General Motors is discontinuing production of the 1500-series Chevy Express and GMC Savana.
Apparently light-duty versions accounted for just 23 percent of Express sales and only 7 percent of Savanas. Add to that the fact that these 1500 versions were the only ones using the old generation of engines and suspension, and that the Wentzville plant near St. Louis, Missouri, is trying to make room for the next Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups, and the fate of the light-duty GM van was sealed.

2015 GMC Canyon Nightfall Edition rumbles in under the radar

Tue, Jan 13 2015

Buyers enticed by the new 2015 GMC Canyon will want to take a look at the new Nightfall Edition. Unveiled here on the floor of the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the Nightfall is based on the mid-level SLE trim level in four-door crew cab bodystyle, but upgrades with a stealthy appearance and bundled extras. It's decked out in Onyx Black paint, for starters, but also has a blacked-out grille and side steps, a spray-in bedliner and 18-inch wheels with darkened inserts, as well as a polished exhaust tip, remote start and automatic climate control fitted as standard. The only choice left up to the buyer of this murdered-out mid-size pickup is whether to get it in 2WD or 4WD. Either way, motivation is provided by the Canyon's 3.6-liter V6 with its 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. Pricing has yet to be announced, but considering that the SLE on which it's based starts at $30,980 and that the SLT comes in at $34,345, we'd expect the Nightfall to be positioned in the low 30s, with another few grand for four-wheel drive.
