2015 GMC Canyon Nightfall Edition rumbles in under the radar

Buyers enticed by the new 2015 GMC Canyon will want to take a look at the new Nightfall Edition. Unveiled here on the floor of the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the Nightfall is based on the mid-level SLE trim level in four-door crew cab bodystyle, but upgrades with a stealthy appearance and bundled extras. It's decked out in Onyx Black paint, for starters, but also has a blacked-out grille and side steps, a spray-in bedliner and 18-inch wheels with darkened inserts, as well as a polished exhaust tip, remote start and automatic climate control fitted as standard. The only choice left up to the buyer of this murdered-out mid-size pickup is whether to get it in 2WD or 4WD. Either way, motivation is provided by the Canyon's 3.6-liter V6 with its 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. Pricing has yet to be announced, but considering that the SLE on which it's based starts at $30,980 and that the SLT comes in at $34,345, we'd expect the Nightfall to be positioned in the low 30s, with another few grand for four-wheel drive. GM recalls 51k Enclave, Traverse, Acadia crossovers over fuel gauge inaccuracy

With all eyes fixed on General Motors in the wake of the ignition recall debacle, the auto giant has been carefully calling in a wide array of vehicles to fix anything and everything that could prove problematic. Just the other day it issued two separate recalls - one concerning the Cadillac SRX and another its heavy-duty pickups - and now it is issuing another.
This time the vehicles in question are the Buick Enclave, Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia, three fullsize crossovers based on GM's Lambda platform. In an estimated 51,640 units manufactured between March 26 and August 15, 2013, the engine control module has been found to incorrectly display the level of fuel in the tank.
As a result, owners are being notified to bring their vehicles in to their local dealers to have the ECU reflashed to fix the problem. View the full details in the announcement below from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

2017 GMC Canyon finally goes Denali

You knew this was coming and perhaps you've been waiting for it: the GMC Canyon dressed up in Denali trim. Even though we're getting to see it before its reveal at the LA Auto Show, you'll have to wait roughly one more year to take delivery since it doesn't go on sale until "late 2016." You can spec the trim on the crew cab models with either the 3.6-liter gasoline V6 or the 2.8-liter diesel engine. You know the formula, and it works well on the Canyon. There's a chrome grille, chrome trim around the foglights, chrome side steps, one polished exhaust tip, a spray-in bedliner, and 20-inch ultra-bright wheels. You can get the rest of the truck done up in one of six colors, two fewer than are available for non-Denali trims. The inside comes in Jet Black only, with heated and ventilated front seats, Denali badging, and a unique instrument panel.
