1971 GMC 2500 PICKUP

This truck underwent a body off frame restoration recently, and has only been driven 2951 miles since!

Keep in mind that the mileage will change, as I still drive it almost daily. This truck was equipped from the factory with Air Conditioning. The cab components are intact, missing the condenser, and compressor, Easy to put back to working order. We are up in the mountains, doesn't get too hot up here.

This is a 3/4 ton, 2 wheel drive, longbed pickup. Everything from front to back, inside and out has been replated, repainted, rebuilt, or replaced. Nothing was left untouched. The list of what has been done to it, is a very long list. But, I will try and summarize, to give you an idea.

Body; cab, bed, front end, suspension, both front and rear, gas tanks, engine, trans. etc. completely disassembled. The body was painted inside and out. Metallic green. Has the paint code sticker attached to the spec. sheet on the inside of the glovebox.

New:

Rubber body mounts, Rubber bed mounts, radiator, upholstery, all new Pro Comp gauges (full set) Sony CD player in dash, 2 stereo amps under the seat. 4 speakers in the doors, 2 each side. Suspension all gone through, ball joints, A-arm bushings, drag link, pitman arm, tie rods, springs (2" longer than factory to correct the front end droop) truck sits level! New brakes: Power booster, dual master cylinder, front disc rotors, calipers, pads, bearings, seals. Rear drums, shoes,  and hardware kits.  New weather stripping, new window rubber, new tinted glass (ALL) New window rubber, fuzzies, door glass, window regulators, wing windows, wing rubber, and latches.

Totally rebuilt small block Chevy 350. 30 over, RV cam, Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock 600 carb. vac secondaries, electric choke, Hedman headers, full length, HEI ignition. Rebuilt TH 400, with RV shift kit, and cooler.  Was a power steering truck, power box replaced with a manual box. Steers very easily, even when sitting still. Class IV 2" receiver hitch with trailer wiring, electric brake controller (dash mounted) New 8 lug alloy rims with new Michelin Radials LT 235/85/16 "E" load rating. over $2k in tires and wheels. Leaf spring rear suspension with air bags above the springs on both sides. Valves on a custom made bracket, locater near the license plate. Corvette style wooden/aluminum steering wheel.

All wiring replaced with a factory kit. New front to back, including lighting and engine harness. Full cab carpeting, recent visors, carpet, door panels, sill plates, seat upholstery, dash pad, glove box, gauges, stereo (nice system) seat belts. Stock gas tank was removed from inside the cab, and replaced with a 24 gallon tank. This tank is mounted under the bed, between the frame rails. Fills from inside the bed. Sprayed in bedliner also.

This truck starts, runs, shifts, steers, drives, and stops excellent. Everything works as it should. A lot of time was put in to lovingly restoring this GMC truck, and it is apparent. I don't think you could find a better one out there. Sure, you may find one with more "bling," but mechanically, this truck is it! Its been a California truck since new (as far as we know) and as such, it is a very dry, rust free truck.  This truck was painted almost 10 years ago, and stored inside while the rest of the build was going on. It was just recently machine polished, and hand waxed. Full detail was just done, inside and out.

In closing, if you want one of the nicest restored classic trucks out there, then you've come to the right place. New projects have got in the way, and it's time to make some money, and room. No disappointments, bid to win!! I will do my best to answer all questions, so please ask before you bid. Inspect BEFORE winning this auction. Thank You

GMC Hummer EV First Drive Review | True supertruck, for better and for worse

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Right from the start, the 2022 GMC Hummer EV has been advertised with superlatives, mostly in reference to its specifications. GMC has even called it a "supertruck" in its own materials. And while we've received a taste of the truck before, only now have we finally got our hands on the production-spec model, and had the opportunity to drive it both off-road and on the street. What we've found is that the Hummer EV is undoubtedly a supertruck, much the same way that a Ferrari or a Lamborghini is a supercar. It totally delivers on its incredible capabilities, but there are compromises. And they're worth being aware of before plunking down the more than $100,000 a first-year Hummer will run you. That six-figure truck is the version we tested, the Edition 1, which actually rings in at $112,595. It's the only version in production for now, with lower trims coming in the next couple years. It's sold out, but many of the features will be available on the next highest trim level, the EV 3X. Among those features are the three motors, torque vectoring, “Watts To Freedom” launch mode, four-wheel steering, removable glass roof panels, 35-inch tires, Super Cruise, power rear window and MultiPro tailgate. In other words, although you can literally no longer order an Edition 1, you can still order a Hummer EV with nearly the same specification. This content is hosted by a third party. No one can resist seeing what 1,000 horsepower and 1,200 pound-feet of torque will feel like. It's even a tad more torque in Watts To Freedom mode, which preemptively runs the cooling system to enable the additional twist. That mode allows the Hummer to hit 60 mph in 3 seconds, and the drama is dialed up with visual, audible and haptic cues. But even without engaging launch mode, the Hummer EV impresses and delights with its acceleration. In addition to pinning you to the seat, the entire truck squats in an exaggerated fashion. It's absurd, especially considering the truck's curb weight that surpasses a truly astounding 9,000 pounds. ThatÂ’s several hundred pounds more than the heaviest GMC Sierra HD 3500 diesel dually. Of course, that weight, as well as the nature of electric motors, means the party starts to calm down as the speed increases. The weight is noticeable in other areas, too.

Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.
