2011 Gmc Sierra 2500 Hd Sle Crew Cab Pickup 4-door 6.6l Z71 Duramax Diesel on 2040-cars
Kaukauna, Wisconsin, United States
I bought this truck new back in 2011. (It was originally in my business name and I refinanced it under my name later which is the reason the carfax report shows 2 owners) It has been a great truck and has been well taken care of. It was used primarily as my daily driver and to pull my boat on the weekends. I am selling it because I no longer need a 3/4 ton diesel pickup to meet my needs. You will not find a nicer used truck than this one. It has never been smoked in and there have been no accidents. Additional features: -Power driver and passenger seats -Z71 off-road package -3.73 rear axle ratio -Tires were replaced 7000 miles ago (same tires as originally came with the truck paperwork included) -Allison Transmission -6.6 Duramax Diesel -Heavy duty trailering package (locking rear differential and integrated trailer brake controller) -18" Polished Aluminum Wheels -Power heated camper mirrors with turn signals -Roof top marker lights -Bucket seating -GM snowplow prep package (roof mounted lamp provisions, dual 125 amp alternators, skid plate package) ******never had a snowplow installed***** Dealer installed options: -Truxedo tonneu cover -GM stainless step tubes -GM molded mud flaps -Line-X spray-in bed liner. The truck currently has 50,300 miles on it but may change a bit since I am periodically driving it while it is for sale. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the truck. It is located in Kaukauna, WI which is near Appleton. (approximately 30 minutes south of Green Bay) ****Closest airports are Appleton (ATW) and Green Bay (GRB) |

These are the 'Greenest' and 'Meanest' cars in 2015
Fri, Feb 6 2015As has become tradition, the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) has come up with a ranking of what it refers to as the "greenest" cars of 2015, and, by way of contrast, a list of the so-called "meanest" cars, so those who value eco-friendliness over all else can choose which vehicles they should or should not consider buying. As you may expect, electric cars make up the majority of the greenest cars on the list, but, perhaps surprisingly to many, the Tesla Model S didn't make the cut. It's worth noting, too, that where the electricity an owner uses to charge their electric vehicle has a big impact on its overall environmental impact. "A car that is charged using electricity generated from natural gas or renewables is going to have significantly less impact on the environment than one charged on a coal-heavy grid," says ACEEE lead vehicle analyst Shruti Vaidyanathan. The ACEEE's list for 2015 looks very different than it did in 2014. It's an interesting collection, though – and we're sure this goes without saying, really – we'd recommend doing a bit more research into each vehicle and how it might fit into your daily life before making any purchase decisions. 2014 Chevy Silverado details continue to dribble out
Wed, 03 Apr 2013PickupTrucks.com has gotten its hands on a few more details concerning the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and the 2014 GMC Sierra. General Motors held a conference call on the two trucks, allowing Jeff Luke, executive chief engineer for both, to answer a few questions. Luke said truck buyers are largely concerned with power and fuel economy, and as such, GM will continue to explore new methods of providing both. That may translate into any number of drivetrain permutations, including light-duty diesel engines, eight-speed transmissions or even a twin-turbocharged V6.
What's more, both the 2014 Silverado and its GMC twin will boast a tow rating of 11,500 pounds, but only when equipped with a max-trailering package. Without that special package, the rating drops to 10,200 lbs for regular cabs and 9,700 lbs for crew cabs. Buyers will no longer be able to opt for a 4.10 gear ratio.
We're also excited to hear that GM plans on making the Z71 package into something more than just a few a stickers. While Luke didn't go into details, PickupTrucks.com says "it will get significant improvements in the future." Head over to the site for a quick rundown of the call's highlights.
GM updating fullsize pickups for 2015
Sat, 10 May 2014As Ford prepares to hit the market with its x-factor, aluminum-intensive F-150 and Ram sales stand tall enough to meet General Motors truck sales eye-to-eye, GM is putting the word out that it's going to add more features to its trucks and do so more regularly. An executive engineer for pickups told reporters that "a whole array" of changes are on the way as soon as the 2015 model year and then would likely come "the year after that, the year after that, the year after that."
Only GM knows the way it plans to go with its fullsize trucks, with almost everyone else - including its dealers - griping about market share at the same time as they applaud profits and hope for clarity and growth. GM raised prices on the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra not long after launch even as it was losing market share and getting called "the least successful large pickup launch over the last 15 years," further upsetting dealers, then Ram outsold the Silverado in March of this year and led GM to increase incentives. But transaction prices rose with the premium; in the first quarter of this year more than 37 percent of the trucks costing more than $40,000 were the Silverado and Sierra, leading one dealer to say of the Sierra, "You can't sell a cheap one," and the analyst who made that "least successful launch" comment to opine, "GM may have made the right call to go for price over share."
We won't know for a few months what any of these updates will be, but the rumored changes for the Silverado and Sierra appear to cover all the bases, including appearance, capability and fuel economy. Rumors run to higher gear counts, stop-start technology and diesel engines before brand-new pickups come for the 2019 model year, those next-generation models supposedly to be engineered with a lot more aluminum.
