The recall affects 2,432 vehicles, though only 138 had actually reached consumers.
General Motors quickly fixed an airbag-wiring problem with the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, but is still conducting a small recall to repair the midsize trucks that are launching this fall.
Mystery man buys fast food worker a new car
Tue, Apr 28 2015A mystery man bought a Tennessee fast food worker a new car. 34-year-old Jeff Smith told WKRN he was approached by an older stranger as he was exiting a grocery store. The two struck up a conversation about Smith's 1991 Geo Storm. The vehicle is falling apart; it has more than 350,000 miles on it, a cracked dashboard, no drivers side window, and a door that is literally being held closed by a small hook. The stranger asked Smith to follow him down the road to James Motors, but then asked the fast food worker to wait outside. Smith told WKRN, "He comes back out and says, 'How do you like that blue pickup?' I said. 'It looks great.' Then he said, 'Well, I bought it and it's yours now.' [...] It's just a blessing. It's the best thing that has ever happened to me." At first, Smith didn't believe this was even real. But the owner of James Motors showed up at the fast food restaurant where he works with the keys and title to the 2001 navy blue GMC Sonoma. Lincoln, GMC clean up in AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards
Tue, 17 Jun 2014In recent years, there have been a lot of dire pronouncements made about Lincoln's future, or a lack thereof. But Ford's premium marque is like the Rocky Balboa of the auto business; every time the company seems ready to go, it comes back for more. Apparently, that dogged persistence is paying off, because the industry analysts at AutoPacific have put a big check in their win column with their newly released 2014 model year vehicle satisfaction survey. And despite recent enmity for its seemingly never-ending recall saga, it appears General Motors knows how to satisfy new owners, too.
In fact, not only was Lincoln named as the premium brand with the highest new owner satisfaction, even scored three models on the list of passenger cars with the most gratified buyers - the MKS, MKZ and MKZ Hybrid.
GM's stable of brands was also among the top companies in this year's survey. GMC was named the top popular brand by AutoPacific, with its Sierra pickup and Acadia crossover singled out for awards in their segments. Chevrolet also did incredibly well, with more cars on the list than any other brand. The Corvette, Camaro, Sonic and Impala all made the cut in their respective categories.
