Up for sale is a 2008 GMC Sierra HD SLT pickup with the 6.6L Duramax Diesel. It is fully loaded with every luxury accessory and is the crewcab model with 8 foot bed. The car has 65,000 miles on it and has been babied. I have never owned a trailer and don't even use this truck as it was intended, I mainly it is used for hauling light loads in the bed. The interior is spotless.  I only weigh 160 lbs so the drivers seat is in perfect condition and has not been "crushed" as you see in so many used trucks like this one. Maintenance always performed on schedule. I have a clear title in-hand.

Exterior condition:

This truck DOES have some hail damage.  It was in knoxville, TN during the 2011 hail storm where we had grape-sized hail.  I didn't have comprehensive insurance on the truck at the time and never got it fixed.  The majority of the damage is to the hood and roof, with slight dents primarily on the drivers side of the truck.  It is difficult to see except on the hood and roof, since the car is white.  I tried to capture it in the pictures.  None of the dents have compromised the integrity of the paint (i.e., there are no cracks in the paint that may lead to rust).  I have received several estimates for the damage.  To completely fix the vehicle the price I received from a local reputable body shop, including labor and TN sales tax is $4,259.  The hood and roof will be replaced for this price, and the remainder minor dents on the truck can easily be fixed with paintless dent repair.   Now, the majority of the cost here is the replacement of the roof.  Since only the birds can see the roof on a truck like this, if it were me, I would fix everything but the roof.  In this case, the cost including labor and TN state tax would be $2569.24.  Once again, the dents on the roof are the worst, however, the paint is NOT compromised, so there is no potential rust issue should the trucks next owner decide not to fix the roof.  I have a detailed scan of an estimate I can send you if you so desire.  Other than the hail damage, the exterior has no scratches, scuffs or other dents.  There are also minimal stone chips for a truck of this model year.

This truck is low miles and in fantastic condition (other than the hail issue...).  With the diesel, this would last many many years to come.  This is a great opportunity to save some money due to the hail damage, and you may choose to fix only a portion of the damage lowering your bottom line.

I would like to be as upfront an honest about the vehicles condition as possible.  Please check my feedback.  In the past 3 months, I also sold a high-dollar motorcycle (~$15,000) with good feedback from the buyer. I will work with you in any way I can.  I will assist with shipping, though the buyer must pay.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks!

2014 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra first pickups to ace updated NHTSA tests [w/video]

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

General Motors has just become the first pickup truck manufacturer to receive five-star overall vehicle scores in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's New Car Assessment Program. The updated safety standards, which went into effect in 2011, are more strenuous than the previous NHTSA curriculum and involve collecting both more and more substantial data, reflecting the improved safety inherent in newer vehicles. This feat is made more impressive by the fact that both Ford and Ram have released brand-new trucks since the new testing went into effect - GM's victory is no technicality.
The rating only applies to the redesigned, light-duty Silverado, Sierra and their upmarket variants, High Country and Denali, respectively, while only Crew Cab variants were tested. Considering that the four-door body style will make up 60 percent of GM's light-duty truck sales, the exclusion of the other variants seems reasonable.
This news is sure to be yet another feather in GM's pickup-oriented cap. Be sure to scroll down for video of the crash testing, as well as the full press release from General Motors.

Chevy and GMC trucks get CNG option pricing

Fri, 18 Apr 2014

Chevrolet and GMC have clued us in to pricing of the bi-fuel option for the 2015 Silverado and Sierra 2500HD CNG and 3500HD CNG pickups: it starts at $9,500; we're still missing the rest of the pricing inferred by the word "starts," however. If you remember from the Chicago Auto Show introduction, the 6.0-liter V8 puts out 360 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque when drinking gas, 301 hp and 333 lb-ft when inhaling CNG.
Chevrolet figures that a bi-fuel Silverado HD is worth $2,000 in savings if driven 19,500 miles on CNG and 7,500 miles on gasoline in the span of a year, a recoup rate easily attainable to high-mileage fleet owners. It can be specced on double- and crew-cab pickups with single rear wheels, not on dualies.
The 2015 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana short-wheelbase passenger and cargo vans also get CNG options, starting at $10,825 for the three-tank system, and $12,090 for the four-tank system that can only be had on the cargo hauler. You'll find a bit more info on all of the permutations in the press release below.

2014 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra full configurators truck in

Sat, 15 Jun 2013

You can now put prices to your wildest option-sheet dreams of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. A microsite for the full-size pickup truck twins has been up since January, and now the full-blown configurator is live and ready to take your virtual orders. The only two chassis configurations available at the moment are the Crew Cab with either a short or standard bed - Regular and Double Cab versions will come later. In Silverado flavors that will run you $32,710 for the short box, $33,010 for the standard box, while the Sierra adds a $1,500 premium to both of those prices, and destination and handling for both models adds another $995.
Since these are American pickups the list of modifications is lengthy, but we added $11,450 in just two steps by starting with the Silverado Crew Cab and standard bed, then checking four-wheel drive and the LTZ Z71 package. Our final truck, resplendent in Brownstone Metallic paint, heated and cooled Cocoa/Dune perforated leather seating and tasty details like chrome recovery hooks, and engine block heater and LED cargo box lighting, rang up $57,285 at the candy store.
They'll be on dealer lots sometime this summer, so now's a good time to start practicing your box-checking.
