2008 Gmc Sierra 2500 on 2040-cars
Bruington, Virginia, United States
If you have any questions feel free to email: danpeairs@juno.com .
2008 GMC Sierra 2500 HD 4x4 Crew Cab SLE. 6.6 liter DuraMax diesel engine, and 6 speed automatic Allison
Transmission, Z71 off-road package, 6.5 foot bed and can be sold with or without the tool box.
Truck has new BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires (E load range), new ceramic brakes and rotors, new dual Optima red-top
batteries, synthetic engine oil, and all major fluids have been changed.
The truck has a few performance modifications such as an Air-Raid air filter with heat shield installed, and a
computer re-program for more horsepower and better fuel efficiency using a PPE Xcelerator DuraMax flasher which I
am including in the sale (a $500.00 programmer) I have also replaced the stock fuel pressure relief valve with a
solid PPE race fuel valve as well. More information is available upon request.
The truck runs terrific, and has passed the Virginia inspection.
The truck has had only one non-smoking owner, and has been very well maintained.
Clear title.
I am selling it simply to upgrade to a newer Suburban. It has been the best vehicle I have ever owned and will miss
it.

GMC Canyon's jump seats innovate to keep kids safe [w/video]
Sat, 03 May 2014We dig simple solutions to problems. There's something highly gratifying about making a minute change to fix something, rather than tearing up the playbook. That's what GMC has done with the new Canyon midsize pickup.
When putting a car seat in, car seat manufacturers require that at least 80 percent of the seat's base fit on the bottom cushion. That's a big problem in extended-cab pickups like the Canyon, which feature jump seats with shorter bottom cushions, in place of the larger, more traditionally designed bench.
The Canyon gets around this with extendable jump seats - simply pop out the headrest and slot it into the bottom seat cushion, and the truck can now easily accommodate a child's seat.
GM trademarks 'GearOn,' possibly for pickups
Fri, 13 Jun 2014On May 27, a week before General Motors applied for a trademark for the word "Zora," GM filed a trademark application at the US Patent and Trademark Office for "GearOn," characterized as a "truck bed cargo system comprised of tiered storage cross rails, utility rack stanchions, cargo dividers and cargo tie down rings."
We have no idea what it will be or if we'll see it used on anything, but GM Authority reckons it could be GM's name for a pickup truck feature to rival the BoxLink system Ford introduced on the 2015 F-150. BoxLink has been described as having "dozens of configurations of stowable cargo ramps and lockable die-cast aluminum tie-down cleats," giving owners the ability to arrange the bed in they way they need and load unwieldy items like motorcycles without needing extra equipment.
Getting purely speculative, a month ago GM pickup truck engineers said there would be more and more regular updates for the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra starting next year. Beyond the suspected capability and fuel economy changes GearOn could be one of the "neat things coming in a whole host of areas."
2018 GMC Acadia with 'Christmas Aero' modification gets in the wind tunnel
Sat, Dec 16 2017Tis the season of "Big" - big cheer, big parties, big bowls of eggnog, big decorations, and when it comes to your family hauler, big drag. Festive drivers who festoon their crossovers, minivans, and SUVs with wreaths, Rudolph noses, fuzzy antlers, and rooftop Christmas trees undo the years of work that car engineers devote to fractional gains in fuel economy. To put numbers to such fuel-guzzling madness, GMC started with a 2018 Acadia, optioned it with the Xmas Aero Package - both Standard and Plus versions - put it in Lockheed-Martin's wind tunnel. The resulting dip in fuel economy results probably won't surprise anyone who's used a roof rack - or, for that matter, their car's air conditioning. However, it might surprise you to find out which seemingly substantial decoration had no effect, and which seemingly innocuous decoration was about twice as bad as running the A/C on its Mr. Freeze setting. Check out the brief video above for the results. And consider placement of that bow carefully.
