THE TRUCK HAS A LOW 115053 MILES. THAT'S LOW NOT ONLY FOR THE YEAR IT IS BUT ALSO FOR IT BEING A DIESEL. WHEN IT FIRES UP THERE IS A PUFF OF SMOKE THAT IS TYPICAL OF EVERY OTHER DIESEL I'VE EVER OWNED. THE TIRES HAVE LOTS OF TREAD AND CAN'T HAVE TOO MANY MILES. IT ALSO JUST HAD SOME OF THE FRONT AND REAR BRAKE LINES REPLACED AS WELL AS 2 NEW BATTERIES AND FRONT AND REAR BRAKES GONE THROUGH WHICH INCLUDED NEW CALIPERS. AS FAR AS THE BODY ITS ONE OF THE BEST I'VE SEEN FOR THE YEAR. THE DOORS ARE JUST STARTING TO RUST ON THE BOTTOMS...NOT TOO BAD THOUGH. IT HAS A DENT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE RIGHT DOOR AND SMALL DINGS HERE AND THERE WHICH IS TO BE EXPECTED.THE TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN ABUSED AS FAR AS PLOWING AND HAULING IN FACT THE OLDER GENTLEMAN I BOUGHT IT FROM HAD IT FOR THE LAST DECADE AND ONLY PLOWED HIS SMALL GAS STATION LOT AND HIS OWN DRIVEWAY....THAT'S IT! IN FACT IT'S VERY OBVIOUS ONCE YOU TAKE A RIDE IN IT THAT ITS LIFE THUS FAR HAS BEEN PAMPERED AND UNTYPICAL FOR A 3/4 TO 4X4 DIESEL. THERES NOTHING THAT COMPARES TO PURCHASING FROM AN ELDERLY GENTLEMAN THAT HAS BEEN A MECHANIC HIS WHOLE LIFE! AS FAR AS THE PLOW IT LOOKS AND FUNCTIONS AS PERFECTLY AND AS EQUALLY AS THE TRUCKS EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE TRUCK SINCE JANUARY WHILE I HAD A BID ON ANOTHER TRUCK THAT I LATER ENDED UNBEKNOWNST TO ME. WINNING. I CAN'T KEEP EM BOTH AND THE WAY I USE MY TRUCKS I CAN'T BRING MYSELF TO PUTTING THIS ONE THROUGH THE RINGER. NHTSA investigates 1.7 million GM SUVs for windshield wiper failures
Tue, Nov 6 2018WASHINGTON - The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Tuesday it is investigating whether General Motors should recall an additional 1.7 million sport utility vehicles due to an issue with windshield wiper failures. GM in August 2016 recalled 367,800 2013 GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Equinox SUVs in the United States to address the problem. But after receiving 249 complaints about similar problems, the federal agency said it is probing whether the recall should be expanded to include an additional 1.7 million vehicles from the 2010-2016 model years. The automaker said it is cooperating with the NHTSA review. GM said it recalled the 2013 GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Equinox SUVs "because warranty data showed a higher-than-expected failure rate," adding it has continued to monitor field data on other model years of those vehicles. GM noted that no crashes or injuries related to the issue have been reported. The Detroit-based automaker said the recalls were prompted after a GM Canada brand quality manager reported a potential safety issue relating to reports of windshield wiper failures in Canada through GM's "Speak Up For Safety," program in late 2015. The data showed significantly higher field incidents in parts of Canada, which prompted a June 2016 recall there. Over the next two months, a higher number of U.S. reports prompted a U.S. recall, the company added. What the electric Hummer's size and weight means for its efficiency

Tim Levin/Insider If you think driving a pint-sized Nissan Leaf is as good for the planet as driving a huge electric Hummer, think again. The GMC Hummer EV uses significantly more electricity than other EVs, meaning it produces more pollution upstream. The electric Hummer weighs 9,000 pounds and its battery weighs as much as a Honda Civic. The new electric Hummer rolls through town without a deafening engine rumble or a cloud of toxic fumes, but it doesn't exactly tread lightly. The colossal truck weighs an astonishing 9,000 pounds. (Think two Toyota Tacomas, three Honda Civics, or 24 Shaquille O'Neals.) Moreover, the GMC Hummer EV is in many ways a supersized gas guzzler for a new era. It repackages many of the same flaws of hulking SUVs and trucks of years past — and proves not all zero-emission cars are created equal. EVs can be energy guzzlers too On the whole, electric cars use less energy than gas-powered ones. But they aren't all equally efficient. No surprise here: The Hummer needs more electricity than any other EV on the market to move its elephantine frame. The Environmental Protection Agency rates the pickup at 47 MPGe (miles per gallon of gasoline-equivalent). For comparison, the Tesla Model 3 sedan is nearly three times as efficient, earning a rating of 132 MPGe. The Ford F-150 Lightning, another electric truck, gets 70 MPGe. This has real consequences: Since the US gets 61% of its energy from oil, coal, and natural gas, the more electricity a car needs, the more pollution it creates upstream. As the Union of Concerned Scientists put it: "Both EV cars and trucks are much cleaner than their gasoline counterparts, but electric trucks are responsible for more global warming emissions than electric cars simply because trucks are larger and heavier." The 2022 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1. GM promises to add 20 EVs and fuel-cell cars to lineup, paid for by SUVs
Mon, Oct 2 2017DETROIT — General Motors outlined plans on Monday to add 20 new battery electric and fuel-cell vehicles to its global product lineup by 2023, financed by robust profits from sales of gasoline-fueled trucks and sport utility vehicles in the United States and China. "General Motors believes in an all-electric future," GM global product development chief Mark Reuss said on Monday during a briefing at the company's suburban Detroit technical center. Future generations of GM electric vehicles "will be profitable," Reuss said, but added it was not clear when GM could make all its new vehicle offerings zero-emission electric cars. Regulators in China and some European countries have floated proposals to ban internal combustion engines by 2030 or 2040. "We will continue to make sure our internal combustion engines will get more and more efficient," Reuss said. GM shares were up more than 4 percent in midday New York trading on positive comments from Rod Lache, auto analyst at Deutsche Bank. Automakers, including electric vehicle market leader Tesla, lose money on electric cars because battery costs are still higher than comparable internal combustion engines. The company offered sneak peeks of three EV prototypes: a Buick SUV, a sporty Cadillac wagon and a futuristic pod car wearing a Bolt badge. GM funds its forays into new technology using a river of cash generated by old-technology vehicles popular with its core customer base in the United States heartland. In comparison, Tesla has burned through an estimated $10 billion in cash and has yet to show a full year profit. GM earned more than 90 percent of its $12.5 billion in pretax profits last year in North America, amid robust demand for its lineup of large sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks. The company's profitable operations in China rely on consumer demand for an expanding lineup of gasoline powered SUVs. GM has previously announced plans to make some of its future electric vehicles capable of driving themselves in robot taxi fleets. The company offered sneak peeks of three electric vehicle prototypes: a Buick brand sport utility vehicle, a sporty Cadillac wagon and a futuristic pod car wearing a Bolt badge. GM collaborated with Korean battery maker LG Chem to build the Bolt battery system. Company officials did not say what companies would supply batteries for the larger fleet of vehicles promised by 2023. Fuel-cell vehicles will also play a role in GM's future, the company said.
