Here is a hard to find Very Nice Example of a 1987 GMC Sierra Classic 1500 Short-Wide bed (Southern U.S. Truck), which is had an overall freshen up restoration done several years ago out of a very nice one owner truck. This truck drives great and runs great, and is currently a nice daily driver, so it would be a great first vehicle for anyone coming of age, or a nice truck for someone that is looking for something original. The underhood is original and clean, and hasnt been molested over the years, which is all the way down to the factory Fuel Injection system. The B.F. Goodrich tires have about 100 miles on them, and the body of the truck is very tight, so it drives smoothly without any squeeks and rattles.. The AC/Heat system works correclty, and has all been recently service, so it blows nice and cold. T
As you can see from the pictures, this truck is clean and stock appearance, and that is getting harder and harder to find these days due to the over customizaion of alot of these trucks. There is a fine line between what appears to be a teenagers truck and a nice original truck, and that is what we have here, because it has not been abused with wild butchered body mods and paint work.. Look at some of the others that have been listed on Ebay, and look at this one again, and I dont think you will find one as respectable as this one.
The 87 Fuel Injected Short-Wides are the best of the best of this bodystyle, so dont miss out on this nice daily driver, because it will be hard to find one as reasonable as this one. The prices on these trucks are really starting the climb, so if you ever really considered owning one, it would be a good time to buy one. As long as it is kept clean, this truck will not go down in value, and they are very reasonable to maintain.
If you want to check my Ebay feedback on the Hobby Vehicles I have sold over the years, you will see that I have a 100 percent feedback with some claiming they were better than expected, and this is because I go out of my way to represent the correctly. If you need any detailed and specific pictures or information, I will be happy to get you what you need, because I would rather have an informed buyer.
I have a very reasonable Transport Service that I use, and he is normally about half of what the Ebay Services charge, so I will be happy to provide that info to any serious buyers.
Here is a YouTube walk around video of the truck. http://youtu.be/3qeb-u0yh9g

GM to unveil new SUVs at the State Fair of Texas?
Wed, 07 Aug 2013With General Motors just having rolled out its new fullsize truck twins - the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra - for 2014, now it seems to be time to focus on its big SUVs. The Truth About Cars is reporting that the 2015 Chevy Tahoe/Suburban and 2015 GMC Yukon lineup will be making their debuts later next month at the State Fair of Texas, which kicks off on September 27.
To date, we've only seen spy shots of the new Chevy and GMC SUVs (shown above in Yukon XL guise). Based on those spies both trucks seem to be taking a different styling direction than their pickup truck counterparts - just check out the Ford-looking headlight design on the next-gen Chevys.
We reached out to GM for comment and heard back simply that there is no official announcement about the new Tahoe, Suburban and Yukon. Still, the report definitely makes a solid leap of logic, as Texas is a top market for GM's fullsize SUV lineup. It also appears that GM is still planning a separate launch for the next-gen Cadillac Escalade.
GM can't keep up with most popular pickup orders
Mon, 30 Sep 2013With the market for pickup trucks at its best since before the recession, General Motors can't afford any hiccups with the launch of its new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra twins, but it sounds like the popularity of V8-powered trucks is causing some supply-chain issues. Bloomberg reports that GM is experiencing a shortage of 5.3-liter V8 engines because an unnamed parts supplier has been unable to keep up with demand. This is leading GM to restrict the number of V8 Silverado and Sierra trucks that Chevrolet and GMC dealers are allowed to order.
Although it's unclear how long it will take to resolve the parts shortage, GM doesn't have much time to sort it out, as a new Ford F-150 looms on the horizon. At launch, GM's fullsize trucks were offered only with a base 4.3-liter V6 and the 5.3-liter V8, but a burlier 6.2-liter V8 will be available soon. Interestingly, at least at the moment, GM truck buyers don't seem as willing to downsize to V6 power as buyers of the F-150, which gets some 42-percent of its sales from trucks equipped with its EcoBoost V6 engine (not including the normally aspirated base V6).
Working out the kinks in the Silverado and Sierra's supply chain couldn't be more important to the health of the company. Full-size pickups are a huge profit driver - in 2012, the trucks were said to make up about two-third of GM's total profits.
IIHS gives good ratings to 4 of 8 midsize pickups in crash test
Wed, Sep 6 2017Versions of the Toyota Tacoma, Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon Crew Cab earned top ratings in a new crash test of midsize pickup trucks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, while two versions of the Nissan Frontier earned marginal ratings. But the organization gave poor marks to all eight pickups tested for their dim headlights. Overall, four of the eight pickups evaluated earned good ratings for protecting occupants in all five crash test categories — the Tacoma double cab along with crew cab versions of the Colorado, Canyon and Tacoma. But the poor headlights and lack of an automatic emergency braking system blocked any of the pickups from qualifying for the IIHS's Top Safety Pick awards. The study looked at two pickup body styles using 2017 models: crew cabs, which have four full doors and two full rows of seating, and extended cabs, which have two full front doors, two smaller rear doors and compact second-row seats. It subjected each to five tests, and it evaluated the performance of front crash prevention systems and headlights. The Toyota Tacoma crew cab was the only pickup in that class that earned a good rating for structure in the small overlap test, which replicates what happens when a vehicle clips a tree, pole or another vehicle that has crossed the center line. The model's Access Cab extended-cab version was rated similarly, though its structure was rated acceptable. "This group of small pickups performed better in the small overlap front test than many of their larger pickup cousins," says David Zuby, the Institute's executive vice president and chief research officer. "The exception was the Nissan Frontier, which hasn't had a structural redesign since the 2005 model year." The extended-cab versions of the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon earned acceptable ratings, while both the Nissan Frontier king-cab and crew-cab models were rated marginal. Toyota says its 2018 Tacoma will feature upgraded headlights and a standard autobraking system that can detect pedestrians. "Headlights are basic but vital safety equipment. Drivers shouldn't have to give up the ability to see the road at night when they choose a small pickup," Zuby said.
