I have messed with these old Chevy/GMC trucks for 30 years and this is a good one.  Truck runs good, shifts good, stops good, goes down the road good.  Rare power steering, power brakes and AC truck, not many with those options in 69.  AC not hooked up but I have most if not all the parts to do that.  Very little rust, rockers and some on the cab corners, but new ones will be included.  New fuel pump, water pump, battery, cap, wires, coil, points and tie rod ends, I have old steering wheel, most things that needs to be done on these old trucks, very reliable daily driver.  Ask all questions before bidding, $500.00 non-refundable deposit within 8 hours of auction end, no exceptions.  Please come by and inspect and drive the truck before bidding.  I am a very honest person, the truck runs and drives good, but this is a 45 year old truck so sold "as-is, don't come here after winning the auction and think your buying a new truck"!!!  I WILL NOT SELL OUTSIDE OF AUCTION, NOT LISTED LOCALLY, TRUCK WILL SELL TO HIGHEST BIDDER NO RESERVE, GREAT RARE 1969 GMC, RARE POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES AND AC TRUCK, VERY LITTLE RUST, ROCKERS AND SOME ON THE CAB CORNERS, BED, INNER FENDER WELLS UNDER HOOD IN GREAT CONDITION, DAILEY DRIVER OR GOOD RESTORABLE TRUCK, "DINGS AND DENTS", GOOD LUCK!

Answers to some questions: Only place that has rust is rockers and some on the cab corners, floors, bed, fenders, inner fender wells etc are real clean, no or almost no rust.  New rubber floor mat, no carpet, doors close real good everything is aligned.  I've seen a lot of these trucks where the bed is sagging, the doors do not close good, cab is sagging, none of this on this truck, very clean except for some dings and dents which are a lot easier to fix then rust, nice patina.

More answers to questions:  All gauges, yes really all gauges work, except for the tach which is not factory and not hooked up.  I found a small amount of filler in outer bed lower fender that is it, surface rust on frame, very clean for the year.  Tires are "E" rated 8 ply tires in good shape.

GMC wants to target Jeep with compact crossover

Mon, Dec 14 2015

GMC execs might consider adding a Jeep competitor to the range, but rather than new rumors of a Wrangler-fighter, this time the Professional Grade brand could go after the Renegade. Division boss Duncan Aldred would like to broaden the brand's lineup with a subcompact crossover. "I keep telling everyone, 'How can General Motors' truck brand not be in the fastest-growing segment in the industry, an SUV segment," he said to Automotive News but wouldn't confirm whether the model was under development. General Motors already offers small crossovers like the Chevrolet Trax and Buick Encore, but the CUV segment in general continues to drive auto sales in the US. Adding a similarly sized GMC to the mix might increase the automaker's volume by appealing to different customers. "A GMC buyer is very different from a Buick buyer. This is like comparing the Fiat 500X to the Jeep Renegade. They are very similar but appeal to different people," Dave Sullivan, Product Analysis Manager at AutoPacific, told Autoblog. Aldred started the speculation about a Wrangler-fighting model in an interview in late 2014, and the company reportedly even raised the idea of an offroad-focused vehicle to dealers to see how they reacted. The development process was only in the very early planning stages, but the brand considered using Hummer for a little of the new product's inspiration. Aldred later suggested to journalists the possibility of adding a compact or midsize SUV to the GMC range in the next 10 years to appeal to more buyers. He didn't comment directly on the possibility of the Wrangler-challenger at the time beyond saying: "I can't confirm that ... everything's on the table." Related Video:

GMC doesn't care if it's Mt. McKinley or Denali

Tue, Sep 1 2015

GMC is getting a mountain of free publicity from President Obama's decision to rename the former Mt. McKinley back to Denali in Alaska. The truck-and-SUV brand is happy to see the moniker of its high-end trim in the news, but doesn't intend to change any marketing because of the switch. "It had no impact or change on our strategy," a GMC spokesperson told the Detroit Free Press. The brand doesn't expect sales to change, though the frequent use of the word Denali in the news in a positive light amounts to free, albeit temporary, advertising for the company. Denali is the word for the nation's tallest mountain in the Koyukon Athabascan language, and it means "the high one." In 1896 a prospector rechristened the peak Mt. McKinley to support presidential candidate William McKinley. He won the election, but was assassinated in 1901. The title stuck, and the site officially got the name when a national park was created there. Since then, there has been a push to return to the original moniker, and according to the Free Press, the park became Denali in 1980. Now, the peak has followed suit. GMC started using Denali to denote the top models on the 1999 Yukon. Today, it's available as an upmarket alternative on most of the brand's lineup. Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles

Mon, May 13 2024

It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.
