2008 Gmc Savana 3500 16ft Box (cargo) Straight Truck - Ramp, Rollup Door - Texas on 2040-cars
Arlington, Texas, United States
We are selling our 2008 GMC Savana Box (Cargo) Truck. This truck is solid, clean, and smooth running. This truck is a 6.0L gas V8, 16 Foot FRP van body, roll-up rear door, wood floor, step bumper, walk up ramp, translucent roof, air conditioner/heat, AM/FM/CD, power steering, convex rear view mirrors and more. No rips or stains in the materials, cab is solid and immaculant, everything works great. Tires are great and have alot of tread on them. Roof has no rips, ramp slides easy, door has easy rollup. The pictures shown are that of the previous condition when we purchased last year. What's changed? We have installed easy removal decals on the sides and front. All of these decals are easy removal and truck is not wrapped. Before the decals were put on the yellow paint was touched up on the truck box, so as to cover the fading. The front part of the truck is excellent on the outside, not dents or missing paint and no fading. The front rubber bumper has a small corner scratch but still looks amazing. Damage? The metal strip on the gas pump side was run up against a gas pole and has some cracking, causing a hairline fracture above the gas cap approximately 18" long. No damage to windows, no cracks on dash. This truck was purchased last year from a dealer for our moving supply store. We haven't used it as much as we thought so we are going to downsize our equipment. We purchased her with 117,800 miles last Jan and all she has on her is a gentle 121,000, she still drives and rides like a new one and has many many miles left in her. I would trust this truck to go anywhere. If your wanting an excellent dependable, clean, solid box truck, this one is it. It is coming from a company that takes care of the equipment. Please email me with any questions you might have. Thanks, Christine |

GM pushing back on proposed pickup and SUV brake recall [w/poll]
Tue, 08 Jul 2014Through the first six months of 2014, General Motors has recalled 29 million cars and trucks in 54 different actions. If your author's notoriously sketchy math is correct, that'd work out to one recall every 3.5 days (as of this writing). GM is actively fighting to make sure there isn't a 55th recall, though.
Safety critics, including perennial nemesis Clarence Ditlow of the Center for Auto Safety, are calling on GM to recall a further six million pickup trucks and SUVs in northerly climes due to corroding brake lines caused by the use of road salt. There is a catch, here, though - the vehicles in question are over 10 years old, and include the 1999 to 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban and GMC Sierra, as well as the 2000 to 2003 Tahoe and Yukon (shown above).
GM issued the following statement on the matter, obtained by CNN Money:
GM will no longer remove parts from trucks to calculate curb weights
Fri, 08 Aug 2014Following last week's mild uproar after it was discovered that Ford and General Motors were removing some optional parts from their pickups to lower the curb weight and consequently increase the maximum payload, GM has come out and committed to a base curb weight for its upcoming Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon compact trucks (although it has yet to publish them) and its current Silverado and Sierra. The company will do the same for its heavy duty offerings, although those numbers have not been finalized yet.
"This will make our curb weight and payload specs more consistent with those of most other truck makers, making it easier for customers to compare vehicles," GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson told Autoblog in an emailed statement.
As GM notes - and as every manufacturer has noted since this story broke - customers still shouldn't take max payload ratings as gospel. Instead, they should refer to their truck's Tire and Load Label, like the one shown at the inset, which will offer detailed information on max payload, specific to their truck.
Weekly Recap: Geneva's splendor reflects growing demand for ultra-luxury cars
Sat, Mar 7 2015Geneva is one of the most glittering auto shows in the world, but the list of high-powered and bespoke luxury cars was decadent this year even by the rich standards of the Swiss exhibition. It's great for enthusiasts to revel in the flame-throwing Aston Martin Vulcan, the racing-inspired elegance of the Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 concept and the insane performance of the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce, but there's a reason for all of this opulence: the luxury market is big business. And it's growing. IHS Automotive forecasts that so-called ultra-premium sales will nearly triple this decade from 123,000 to 353,000 units around the world. The estimate includes brands like Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari and Rolls-Royce, but doesn't count BMW, Mercedes and Audi, which offer less expensive models in addition to their high-end flagships. Though IHS includes Porsche and its relatively large volume in the study, the ultra-premium segment is still set grow at about the same rate, even without the German automaker's figures. So what is propelling all of this growth in the most expensive segment of the auto industry? Put simply, there's more rich people. IHS Automotive principal analyst Tim Urquhart pointed to economic expansion in China, market recovery in the United States and a surge in the lucrative technology sector as contributing factors. This dovetails with a research report by UK-based Oxfam, an international relief organization, which found the world's richest one-percent owned 48 percent of global wealth in 2014, and it's expected to increase to more than 50 percent by 2016. View 17 Photos Carmakers are moving quickly to capitalize with new products, expanding their portfolios with low-volume speedsters like the 800-hp V12 Vulcan at Geneva, and plans to enter new segments, like Rolls-Royce's strategy to make an SUV. "Ultra-premium carmakers are looking to explore ways of growing their product offerings, and thus their bottom lines, in this most potentially profitable of segments," Urquhart wrote in a report on the Geneva show. In a nutshell, there are more choices for people with more money. It's a good time to have expensive taste. Other News & Notes 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata production launches It won't be long now.
