2000 GMC Safari cargo van
This is the prime choice of the mid size work vehicles! This van is built like a truck! The chevy astro and the gmc safari were true work vans. This is a full frame rear wheel drive work vehicle. This is not a unibody front wheel drive unit. Dependable, long lasting virtually indestructible 4.3L vortec v6 and automatic transmission. These things just last and last and last. This GMC has 194,480 subject to vary with test drives and inspections. ( I have saw with my own eyes a 4.3 with 350k on it still running great) This is a true cargo van. There are no windows in the rear. This van is a true ONE OWNER fleet maintained vehicle. This was used by a painting and drywall company here in the Milwaukee area and was traded in to a new dealership. Upon our inspection we found the van needed front brakes. They were not worn out but they were thin. So we replaced the brakes: pads, rotors and the left caliper. While we were at it we installed a new abs sensor, and performed a COMPLETE tune up including: plugs, wires, cap, rotor and coil too. Lastly we changed the oil and filter, this van is 100% work ready! NOTHING NEEDED BUT NEW OWNER AND DRIVER! The rear tires are like brand new 90% or better, the front tires show some wear but are still in very good condition at 65%. All lights and gauges are fully functional. The windows crank up and down as they should. The antifreeze is good and is safe down to -43F. That is negative 43F The engine runs tip top, the transmission is automatic and shifts smoothly through all it's gears just as it should. There are no abnormal vibrations or shakes. There are no warning lights on in the dash display. This van is READY TO GO. This is a FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY for you or your company to be the second owner of this great van. As with any work van you might expect to see some bumps and bruises along the way. This one is no different than most. Please take a look at the photos and you can see overall this van is in really good condition for a work vehicle. So of the more noticeable items are a spot where some rust is starting to bubble the paint in front of the drivers rear wheel. This has been touched up and I have photo'd close up for you. Also the front bumper has a crack/hole that has been taped over. Also a photo has been taken for you there as well. The rear doors both have vertical creases in them, it's hard to find a safari or astro without these creases. The crease is from the rear tail lights while having the doors opened all the way. You will also find your share of scratches and scuffs etc... Its a work van so I think this is just as to be expected. Please review all the photos. Lastly there is a small crack in the windshield I have photo'd, it's about 4" long and is below the drivers view while driving. It is just below the crown of the dash board when sitting in drivers seat. The interior also has some items to not as well, remember this is a work truck. The driver seat and also the pass seat have a small tear in them, almost in the same spot. see the pictures and you will find some staining and dried up paint spots here and there as well. Like I said it was a painting and drywall company van. Again please look at the photos for full detail. The rear of the van has plenty of scratches and such all over as this was where all the tools and stuff you haul is kept. The floor is really clean for a work van, like the company had a mat or something on the floor to protect it. The insides of the doors and interior walls again are all scuffed and scratched etc... If you have any questions regarding the condition of this vehicle or if you would like to test drive and inspect the vehicle for yourself, please feel free to contact me. My name is Breeze and my number 262-721-8191 For the price how can you go wrong? This is an excellent buy on an excellent van. Please don't miss out and kick yourself later for not calling now. 2021 GMC Yukon will pull a 180 thanks to a Hurricane Turn feature
Fri, Jan 17 2020GMC isn't a hip, young startup, but its engineers are out to prove it's possible to teach an old dog new tricks. The next-generation Yukon will offer adventurers seeking a quick turn-around a "Hurricane Turn" feature that functions a lot like Rivian's Tank Turn technology. The two systems use different hardware to perform a similar action. We didn't hear anything about the Hurricane Turn feature during the Yukon's unveiling because GMC planned to keep it under wraps until later, but an eagle-eyed report at Motor Trend uncovered it and quizzed the firm. It's real, and it's engaged when the driver switches the stability control system off, energetically turns the steering wheel in either direction, and mashes the accelerator pedal to the floor. The Yukon needs to be on a loose surface, too. If you're turning right, the on-board computer applies braking power to the passenger-side wheels to prevent them from spinning, while the engine continues to turn the driver-side wheels to rotate the Yukon on its own axis. The exact opposite happens if you're turning left. It's clever and relatively simple; there's no extra hardware required to enable the feature, though it shows the next Yukon is far more advanced than its predecessor. It goes without saying that only four-wheel drive models will receive the Hurricane Turn feature. There's no word yet on whether it will be compatible with all three engine options, or if it will be limited to a certain trim level. GMC will publish additional details about the system, and hopefully a video of it in action, in the coming months. Rivian, on the other hand, leveraged its four-motor electric powertrain to teach the R1T (and presumably the R1S) how to pull a 180. The right wheels turn in the opposite directions as the left wheels – hence the name Tank Turn – to spin the truck around like a CD in a Walkman. Its system doesn't use the brakes. The 2021 Yukon is due in showrooms in the summer of 2020, and Amazon-funded Rivian won't start making the R1S until the end of 2020 at the earliest, so GMC will beat its younger rival to the punch. What remains to be seen is how often motorists use either function. We're betting not very once the initial novelty wears off. Related Video:  Â
2015 Sierra All Terrain HD looks ready to hit heavy-duty trails
Thu, 22 May 2014GMC is getting its heavy-duty trucks ready for the mud this summer with its All Terrain package for the Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD. Meant to blend style, tech and ruggedness, the pack includes a lot of extra chrome outside and an off-road package underneath.
The 2015 Sierra All Terrain HD trucks naturally come standard with four-wheel drive with an electronically controlled transfer case to handle things in the dirt. The Z71 off-road package is also standard, which includes Rancho twin-tube shocks, hill descent control and a skid plate. To add some style when off the beaten path, the pack includes chrome trim on the mirror caps, lower bumper and grille surround, plus LEDs around the headlights and 18-inch wheels (20-inchers are optional on the 2500HD). The 3500HD also gets chrome, adjustable outside camper mirrors. The interior receives a technology upgrade thanks to the standard rearview camera and IntelliLink infotainment that can act as a Wi-Fi hotspot through OnStar 4G LTE, read text messages and includes Siri Eyes Free for iPhone users.
The All Terrain package goes on sale on both trucks this summer and is offered on either the SLE or SLT trim levels in double cab and crew cab models. The standard engine is the 6.0-liter V8 with 360 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque, but the Duramax 6.6-liter, diesel V8 with 397 hp and 765 lb-ft is also available. The gas engine is mated to a Hydra-matic six-speed automatic, and the diesel uses an Allison six-speed automatic. Scroll down to read the full announcement about these heavy-duty off-roaders.
GM, Pilot will build EVgo fast chargers at 500 truck stops across U.S.
Thu, Jul 14 2022All of our maps showing electric vehicle charging stations across the U.S. are going to need an update. Today, General Motors, Pilot and EVgo announced plans to work together on a nationwide DC fast charging network. The plan calls for 2,000 charging stalls that can deliver up to 350 kW to be installed at up to 500 Pilot and Flying J travel centers in the U.S. The goal is to have DC fast chargers available in 50-mile intervals across the country. The new charging stations will feature GM's "Ultium Charge 360" branding and "Pilot Flying J" logos but will not be limited to drivers of GM EVs. The plugs will use CCS connectors and be available to anyone. GM EV owners can take advantage of benefits, including the ability to make exclusive reservations, get discounts on charging costs and streamline the charging process with Plug and Charge and in-vehicle apps that can provide real-time charger availability. The first installation phase will take place in 2023, and "the bulk of the installations" should be completed by 2025, EVgo CEO Kathy Zoi said during a conference call with reporters announcing the plan. "We're gonna get going immediately and commence all of that engineering and planning stuff," she said. "We've got a pretty orderly plan." Pilot CEO Shameek Konar said the company expects the new EV charging stations to coexist with the current fuel infrastructure. "An average Pilot Flying J location is about 10 acres," Konar said. "This will be in addition to all of our gas pumps. The way I think about it is, this is a new source of energy that is going to coexist with gas for quite some time. We can debate how long, but we need to serve both groups of customers." Installing DC fast chargers at hundreds of Pilot's travel centers — aka truck stops — means there should be food, drinks, restrooms, WiFi and even showers available while you wait for an EV to charge. Pilot recently announced its “New Horizons” plan that will invest $1 billion in upgrading Pilot travel centers with more premium amenities, including expanded seating and lounge areas. While the exact amount of time it will take to charge an EV using these new stations will vary on the EV and its current state of charge, most EVs can refill from a low state of charge to around 80 percent in 20-30 minutes on a fast charger. The new stations are future-proofed to deliver up to 350 kW, a charge rate that few EVs today can handle.
