The 2014 GMC Acadia personifies a never say never attitude with its flexible, accommodating space and functionality. 2022 GMC Hummer EV shows off accessories ahead of SEMA
Thu, Oct 28 2021As is the case with nearly every new off-roader on the market, the 2022 GMC Hummer EV will have a bunch of accessories available for personalizing the big electric pickup truck. In fact, GMC says that the total number of add-ons is close to 200. But for the SEMA show, it's sharing just a few of what it says are the more interesting accessories. Quite a few of these parts will take you a long way to turning the Hummer EV into an overlander. The most obvious is the roof-top tent that utilizes mounts on the roof and the bed. It looks quite large and roomy. Naturally, auxiliary lighting is available, too, including a 50-inch roof light bar and two smaller spot lights that mount ahead of the A pillars. For storage, there's a nifty swing-out toolbox, shown in the gallery as more of a tackle box, plus a battery-powered cooler and a bed-mount for a full-size spare tire. There's also a more traditional bed extender and simple bed rail-mounted rack. And just for fun, you can get a Kicker audio sound system built into the MultiPro tailgate to listen to your music. Not all the accessories are about utility, though. There are some visual enhancements such as the red decals shown in the gallery. They match other decals and badges available, and they're offered in bronze, too. There are some branded puddle lights on offer as well. These should be available around when the Hummer EV pickup goes on sale next year. Pricing for each part will surely vary, though exact numbers haven't been announced. Supercharged 2015 GMC Yukon Denali sounds evil, runs 0-60 in 4.5 seconds
Sun, Dec 7 2014Speeding along in a sports car is undoubtedly a ton of fun, but some owners need the ability to carry a lot of people and their stuff and don't want to sacrifice the ability to put the power down. The tuners over at Hennessey have that demographic covered with their growling, supercharged power kits for the GMC Yukon Denali. The upgrades come in three forms for the SUV's 6.2-liter V8: HPE550 with 557 horsepower, HPE600 with 605 hp and HPE650 with 665 hp. This video showcases the full-bore version, and this Denali can definitely hustle in a straight line. The power bump comes courtesy of a 2.9-liter supercharger, intercooler and high-flow cylinder heads to add over 200 horsepower compared to stock, and the final result is a bellowing SUV that rears up off he line to throw the driver back into the seat. The sprint to 60 miles per hour lasts just 4.5 seconds. Check out this hasty hauler in action in the video above.
2014 GMC Sierra Regular Cab revealed
Thu, 16 May 2013Despite initially launching in just the Crew Cab configuration, the lineup of 2014 GMC Sierra and 2014 Chevrolet Silverado trucks will eventually grow to include three cab sizes and three bed lengths. Oddly enough, our first look at the Regular Cab bodystyle has arrived in a General Motors press release discussing the aerodynamics of the new truck, with an image showing a Sierra Regular Cab testing in the wind tunnel. GMC's website says that Regular Cab and Double Cab models will be available by summer.
While it really didn't take too much imagination to figure out what the two-door version would look like, this Regular Cab Z71 looks pretty sharp with its standard-length (6.5-feet) bed - a longer bed will also be offered. In regards to the aero tuning of the 2014 Sierra, these images show just how far GM has gone in maximizing the truck's fuel efficiency and reducing its noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels. Interestingly, the press release shows visual evidence that keeping the tailgate up is best for aero - there's always been some Mythbusters-level contention about such things -but GM also says that adding tonneau covers (preferably soft) and running boards can also help improve the overall aerodynamics.
