We bought a brand new Ford Transit a few months back for a new business venture. Our needs have changed a bit so we no longer need such a large car. This is a really great vehicle for having lots of space and easy to drive compact size with great mileage (27mpg on highway).

It is an XLT Van model (only 2 seats but full use of back cargo area) with upgraded options including:
- Voice Sync (for operating with bluetooth phones)
- Rear doors can open 255 degrees (as opposed to the regular 180 degrees...very handy for taking things in an out).
- Extra key fobs (3 in total)

No side or rear windows (perfect for keeping your inside belongings protected from unwanted eyes).
Outside color is red.

This car is in essentially like new condition. It looks and runs perfectly. Only approximately 8000 miles on it. One owner, non smoking. Perfect clean title, haven't had a single issue or even a scratch. We never even used the cargo space in the back because our business never got going, so the back cargo area is in like new condition as well.

We also have a complete service package we bought from Ford for an extra $1600. It cost us $1700 new. We have only used one oil change so far at 7500 miles (recommended oil change is every 7500 miles). We can transfer it to the new owner if desired. It covers all regular maintenance like oil changes, brakes, belts, etc. If you don't need it, not a problem, we will get a refund from Ford for it.

New price was 27,595. Save over $4000 here for a like new vehicle.

Any interested buyers, please contact us first before purchase. We are not selling this car through ebay, only advertising it. If you want to purchase this vehicle you will have to contact us directly or come inspect it in person. Buyers too far for local meetup will require their own arrangements to ship or collect the vehicle.

Serious buyers only. Please contact us with any questions. I have been selling on ebay for years and have sold hundreds of high end items. Please check my 100% 5 star feedback. I am happy to meet locally in CA and also potentially help delivery on the West coast, but pickup is preferred in Santa Cruz / San Francisco area. Payment by direct bank transfer or cash bank deposit only. No paypal will be accepted.

Ford drops Focus RS teaser ahead of Feb 3 reveal

Wed, Jan 21 2015

Ford is trying to get us hyped for the unveiling of the latest Focus RS on February 3 with this new video teaser. The clip showcases the hot hatch doing some big slides in the wet and dry during testing in Europe and the US, and it definitely makes us even more curious about what the Blue Oval has in store with the RS. Even in this short teaser, Ford continues to dress the more aggressive nose of the Focus RS in camouflage, like the previous test cars. Unfortunately, what's going on under all of that concealment remains a bit of a mystery. Rumors suggest the RS likely uses a tuned version of the Blue Oval's 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder estimated to make between 325 and 350 horsepower. A speculated torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system should keep fears of torque steer at bay, and larger brakes on the test mules indicate that bringing it all to a halt shouldn't be a problem, either. We do know that the hotter Focus will be among the "more than 12" vehicles that the new Ford Performance division will develop through 2020, and the RS will come to the US for the first time. However, US-spec RS models will likely be imported from Europe, which will keep numbers here low and will mean prices estimated to be around $30,000 or more. Until the official specs become available, at least enjoy watching this hot hatch's ability to slide.

Is it time for American carmakers to give up on dual-clutch transmissions? [w/poll]

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

Last week, in the midst of Detroit's first days seeking relief in Chapter 9 of the bankruptcy code, Automotive News contributor Larry P. Vellequette penned an editorial suggesting that American car companies raise the white flag on dual clutch transmissions and give up on trying to persuade Americans to buy cars fitted with them. Why? Because, Vellequette says, like CVT transmissions, they "just don't sound right or feel right to American drivers." (Note: In the article, it's not clear if Vellequette is arguing against wet-clutch and dry-clutch DCTs or just dry-clutch DCTs, which is what Ford and Chrysler use.) The article goes on to state that Ford and Chrysler have experimented with DCTs and that both consumers and the automotive press haven't exactly given them glowing reviews, despite their quicker shifts and increased fuel efficiency potential compared to torque-converter automatic transmissions.
Autoblog staffers who weighed in on the relevance of DCTs in American cars generally disagreed with the blanket nature of Vellequette's statement that they don't sound or feel right, but admit that their lack of refinement compared to traditional automatics can be an issue for consumers. That's particularly true in workaday cars like the Ford Focus and Dodge Dart, both of which have come in for criticism in reviews and owner surveys. From where we sit, the higher-performance orientation of such transmissions doesn't always meld as well with the marching orders of everyday commuters (particularly if drivers haven't been educated as to the transmission's benefits and tradeoffs), and in models not fitted with paddle shifters, it's particularly hard for drivers to use a DCT to its best advantage.
Finally, we also note that DCT tuning is very much an evolving science. For instance, Autoblog editors who objected to dual-clutch tuning in the Dart have more recently found the technology agreeable in the Fiat 500L. Practice makes perfect - or at least more acceptable.
