Presented for sale is one of the best
1974 Gran Torino you will ever find anywhere!!!!!!
This is a replica/tribute car made famous by the TV series "Starsky and Hutch", that great 1970's police drama made famous by its weekly appearance. #11 on "Edmund's 100 Most Popular TV and Movie Cars Ever",
this replica is a one of a kind. It has been professionally restored down to every nut and bolt, every Chrome  part re-plated for that final show car  OEM look. This Thirty-one thousand original mile car is from California, a rust free purchased in July of 2013  from a A little old Lady which was  Modesto and not Pasadena. It has been completely disassembled, repainted, and painstakingly restored using the most current technique--such as soda blasting the trunk and floor pans underneath the entire and frame. Painted back to the original design, if not  better than  it was done from the factory. We didn't find necessary to soda blast the entire car because it was is such good shape to start with . The frame was completely disassembled, blasted and then powder coated Including all parts like  , inner, fenders skirts, core support motor pulls and brackets and to many to list .
All suspension parts  were replaced down to inner and outer tie rods, bushings , ball joints, drive shaft joints, brakes and rear axle were disassembled and all bearings replaced. Then the rear axle was powder coated.  The entire interior was replaced new and the list goes on and on. As for the wheels they are appliance brand which was used on the original "Starsky and Hutch" car. Even the tires are period authentic Goodyear bias ply.
The paint job and stripe are identical styling to the one on the 1976 car as seen on season three and four except one detail, the color is Viper red and not 2B as it came from Ford-- this mean The color is More red but to the naked eye cant be detected .
Thousands of dollars of NOS " New Old Stock "  Ford parts we sought after and installed to make this as accurate a restoration as anyone could possibly do . The motor was not touched because of the low mileage and already ran so well, why mess with a good thing, but the Transmission has been rebuilt and shift kit  was installed along with new original Style Stainless Exhaust, polished from the axel back to bumpers to a brilliant chrome type look . Everything that was  possible to make this one make this the most amazing example of a Top Flight or Concourse type Restoration. And might be considered museum quality but for sure a true Show Car !
The stripes are clear coated to the point where you can't even feel them and the paint is Buffed to mirror shine. Last but not least all, moldings have been refurbished, polished and painted where and how they came from the factory to the highest quality possible. No Money $$$ was spared in this restoration and here you have the opportunity of a lifetime to Bid or buy the most one of the most iconic cars ever, as well as an amazing restored car anyone would be envious of.

US Air Force Thunderbirds Mustang fetches $400K at auction

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

For the last six years, Ford has created a special version of the Mustang with a military aviation theme, and then donated the car to the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) to be auctioned off at the annual AirVenture event, also known as The World's Greatest Aviation Celebration. The money raised goes to the EAA Young Eagles program to inspire the "aviation pioneers of tomorrow," and this year's 2014 Ford Mustang GT US Air Force Thunderbirds Edition was won with a final bid of $398,000.
Celebrating 60 years of the USAF's Thunderbirds, this Mustang GT is the only one of its kind with a paint job matching the Thunderbirds' F-16 Falcon jets and some Ford Racing performance added on for good measure. Including this car, Ford has helped raise around $2.3 million for the charity with the biggest auction price coming from the first year of the program, the F-22 Raptor-inspired Mustang AV8R from 2008, which sold for $500,000.

Lincoln Continental to end after one-and-done generation?

Thu, Mar 15 2018

After only 18 months on sale, the vultures of rumor have begun circling above the Lincoln Continental. Ford Authority says "sources intricately familiar with Ford Motor Company's future product plans" for the domestic luxury brand say the Continental won't get another chance at life after this generation. Those sources didn't detail Ford's reasons for dispatching the executioner on another sad task, but if this is true, even the reasons we can only guess make enough sense to justify the move. The Continental launched into a crossover mania still mushrooming in strength like some Marvel villain, the equivalent of a new dinosaur hatching a few months before the Chicxulub Impact Event. In 18 months, the Continental sold 18,846 units, 12,012 of those sales happening in 2017. In the U.S. this year, sales amounted to 1,573 units through February, about 25 percent down on the annualized monthly rate. It could be worse: The Lexus GS has found 1,009 U.S. buyers so far this year, the Acura RLX, 285. Conversely, the Cadillac XTS — yes, a fleet darling — secured 3,163 sales in the same period. And the German kingpins live in another dimension, with BMW scooting 5,641 5 Series models off dealer lots, and the Mercedes E-Class boasting 8,411 sales of all three variants. Even the much more expensive and much more profitable Lincoln Navigator rang up 2,351 sales in the first 60 days of 2018. That's disheartening reading, especially after Ford reportedly spent more than $1 billion to bring the Continental to market. Sedan segment woes look to have killed the Continental's platform siblings, too, making the Lincoln's demise simply part of the cull. The CD4 architecture also underpins the Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ. Ford canceled the Fusion redesign and won't commit to making either vehicle after 2020. Lincoln's passenger car sales declined more than 30 percent last month; meanwhile, Lincoln needs to spend its money on the crossovers that are selling, and investment in the coming three-row Aviator that will replace the MKT. Ford has a CD6 platform in development that suits front-, rear-, and all-wheel-drive vehicles. Under previous CEO Mark Fields, a new Fusion, Mustang, and MKZ would ride on the CD6, as well as the new Explorer and a Lincoln brother. Those plans left with the previous administration, and company sources told both Ford Authority and The Truth About Cars not to expect a Continental revival on that architecture. Related Video:

Why the Detroit Three should merge their engine operations

Tue, Dec 22 2015

GM and FCA should consider a smaller merger that could still save them billions of dollars, and maybe lure Ford into the deal. Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne would love to see his company merge with General Motors. But GM's board of directors essentially told him to go pound sand. So now what? The boardroom battle started when Mr. Marchionne published a study called Confessions of a Capital Junkie. In it, Sergio detailed the amount of capital the auto industry wastes every year with duplicate investments. And he documented how other industries provide superior returns. He's right, of course. Other industries earn much better returns on their invested capital. And there's a danger that one day the investors will turn their backs on the auto industry and look to other business sectors where they can make more money. But even with powerful arguments Marchionne couldn't convince GM to take over FCA. And while that fight may now be over, GM and FCA should consider a smaller merger that could still save them billions of dollars, and maybe lure Ford into the deal. No doubt this suggestion will send purists into convulsions, but so be it. The Detroit Three should seriously consider merging their powertrain operations, even though that's a sacrilege in an industry that still considers the engine the "heart" of the car. These automakers have built up considerable brand equity in some of their engines. But the vast majority of American car buyers could not tell you what kind of engine they have under the hood. More importantly, most car buyers really don't care what kind of engine or transmission they have as long as it's reliable, durable, and efficient. Combining that production would give the Detroit Three the kind of scale that no one else could match. There are exceptions, of course. Hardcore enthusiasts care deeply about the powertrains in their cars. So do most diesel, plug-in, and hybrid owners. But all of them account for maybe 15 percent of the car-buying public. So that means about 85 percent of car buyers don't care where their engine and transmission came from, just as they don't know or care who supplied the steel, who made the headlamps, or who delivered the seats on a just-in-time basis. It's immaterial to them. And that presents the automakers with an opportunity to achieve a staggering level of manufacturing scale. In the NAFTA market alone, GM, Ford, and FCA will build nearly nine million engines and nine million transmissions this year.
