1971 Ford Torino 500 5.0l on 2040-cars

Year:1971 Mileage:23842
Location:

Here is your chance to own a beautiful 1971 Ford Torino 500 2 door hardtop numbers matching car with only 23,842 original miles..... This car is litterally a beautiful car with minimal milage. The only changes to the car were the addition of dual exhaust a tachometer, clock, and an FM converter, as well as the installation of a battery tender on the inside fender well. This is the original paint, original trim original everything actually ( newer Rubber on rims). It has the 5 liter 302 2v with automatic trans on the column, interior is perfect and very sweet with minor seat stitching pulling a little on the driver side as you can note from the photos. We've had quite a bit of crappy weather this winter, but I was able to get the car pulled out of the garage last week on a sunny ( but cold ) day to take these photos. Hopefully this week I can get it out a little farther to take some better, more detailed photos, but the lawn is pretty saturated from all of the snow melting, and I really do not want to get it on the lawn to get the tires all muddy.
The lines of this car as you can note are very straight and factory correct, all of the chrome, badging and top are correct and very clean.
The motor and trans/& rear leaks no oil, neither does it burn oil. This car runs GREAT, sounds great, and turns heads for sure. Tires, rims, caps and shrouds are all color correct and matching to this particular car, this is factory paint guys, really really nice yet. The trunk has the correct original jack, stand and lug wrench, as well as a new liner, however I am thinking that it is not the factory correct trunk liner.
This is truly an "UNMOLESTED" car with low low milage, so if your in the market for something nice and original, you've found it.
I am moving next week and expect to have some delays in getting the internet up and running again due to being overly busy at work, for those of you who want to reply through e-bay, bare with me as I will be working from my i-phone... Those who prefer a more direct contact, just feel free to call me at: 484-239-9564  ( Scott ) If I do not pick up your call, it is because I am a concreter contractor and more than likely on equipment or pouring concrete, just leave a message and I will get back to you promptly. thanks, and good luck bidding.

Ford bringing C-Max Solar Energi Concept to CES

Thu, 02 Jan 2014

Solar energy might not be enough to power a usable electric vehicle on its own, but that doesn't mean it can't lend a helping hand. And that's what Ford has in store for the Consumer Electronics Show opening next week in Las Vegas.
Ford has essentially taken its C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid and fitted it with the latest in solar panel technology developed by SunPower, acting like a magnifying glass to capture as much of the sun's energy as possible. So you get the benefit of an electric vehicle, with the range assurance of a hybrid, without needing to draw from the grid.
Ford estimates that a day of charging in the sunshine will give the C-Max Solar Energi concept the same full charge as the production PHEV, with a total range of 620 miles - 21 of which can be run on electric power alone. Otherwise the vehicle - which remains a concept for the time being - is identical to the existing C-Max Energi. The top-selling model in Ford's growing hybrid and electric vehicle portfolio helps put Ford just behind Toyota among the top seller of hybrids in America. Scope out the images in the gallery above and the video clip and press release below for a closer look.

Holy crime-fighting Ford F-150, Batman!

Thu, 18 Jul 2013

What would Batman drive for his weekly trips to Home Depot for the bits and pieces needed to keep his lair deep below Wayne Manor in tip-top condition? Certainly not the Batmobile - there's no way a 4x8 sheet of plywood will fit between the wheel wells, not to mention the fact that jet turbine engines have an unfortunate tendency to set trailers on fire when towing...
No, what Batman needs is a pickup truck. The boys from Ford teamed up with Galpin Auto Sports to build just such a machine, and it has just debuted at Comic Con. Designed by Jared Barris, grandson of the legendary kustomizer George Barris, the 2012 F-150 pickup you see here, dubbed Crime Fighter, is painted Tuxedo Black with Ferrari Red highlights and is affixed with fins on each side of the truck bed. It's nothing if not unique.
Well, it's at least unique for now. According to Ford, Galpin in Southern California is willing to take orders for customers looking to don a cape and hit the town for a night of crime-fighting action. Or trips to Home Depot. Check out our high-res image gallery and then scroll down for the official description from Ford. We're waiting for details such as pricing and build time from Ford, and we'll update this post if and when we hear back.

Truckmakers squabbling over who can sell Jimmy Fallon a pickup

Sat, 08 Mar 2014

Snagging a celebrity endorsement is a big deal for automakers, as evidenced by the recent efforts of the Detroit Three to try and woo The Tonight Show's newest host, Jimmy Fallon, into one of their trucks.
After announcing during Wednesday night's show that he was in the market for a pickup truck, Fallon set off a firestorm of efforts on Twitter, with both Ford and Chevrolet petitioning the funnyman to test out a truck. According to Ad Age, Ford recommended the King Ranch edition of its next-generation F-150 while the show was still airing. Chevy, meanwhile, waited until the next morning to pitch a Silverado to Fallon.
The winner of this social media feeding frenzy, though, was Ram. Promoting a variation of its "Guts, Glory, Ram" tagline, the Auburn Hills-based manufacturer created the hashtag #GUTSGLORYFallon. It even went so far as to park a Ram 1500 outside 30 Rockefeller Center in New York, where The Tonight Show is filmed. On the back of the Ram sat a sign, reading "Big enough, Jimmy? Test it out," referencing a joke from the Wednesday show.
