1970 Ford Torino GT, 351C 4 barrel, 4 Speed!! All matching numbers!!!! The 351C is still all original and runs great!!! It is also a factory 4 barrel engine which is a little more rare!!! I have actually drove the car locally here, around the block etc...The 4 Speed is very slick and smooth with no problems at all!!!! Car is great shape overall!! Although the car does need minor work to be back road ready, including final touches over the brakes, some exhaust work, small patches on the front floor pans (VERY SMALL PATCHES, ONLY AT THE EDGE OF EACH SIDE NEAR THE ENTRY PLATES) and maybe a couple other little things here and there to get it to pass state inspection!?!? I just put new brakes on the front and new wheel cylinders front and rear last month, I just didn't finish adjusting everything completely!! The car has aftermaket exhaust including some type of glass pack mufflers and dual pipes...just believe it may have a leak here or there!? I was goin to put all new exhaust with twin flowmasters and dump them out behind the rear tires when I started working on the car but I just have too many projects and no time!! Of coarse if someone wanted a really nice car or even a show car this one would need more work!! I've only owned the car for about a year and a half...I had big plans for it since it was factory Cleveland 4 Speed!!! I was goin to restore the entire car from ground up, but like I said...I just have too much goin on, so honestly my loss is your gain!!! Id rather see it go to a good home instead of just sitting!!! I bought it from an elderly guy that has owned the car since the late 70's, he had to go into a nursing home due to illnesses!! He had the car painted and everything redone in 1995 but then had a heart attack later that year and the car had to sit out!! From there the car started to fade again and so on!! So the car is of coarse faded and in need of paint and body work, and also interior work!! As far as body work the car has a very small amount of rust in the lower rear quarter panels and maybe a little amount here and there around the lower portion of the other body panels!! Nothing serious enough to have to replace any body parts or panels!! The car other than that is very straight and very solid, absolutely no rust in the frame rails etc!!!! It will need a hood I believe...due to it being weak near the passenger hood hinge!! My plans were to put a shaker on it when I redone it!! The interior is in need of work also, both front bucket seats need recovered, needs a headliner, and new carpet!! Dash pad also has a few cracks in it!! All interior lights still work great along with the dash cluster lights etc!! All the glass in the car is complete and in very good shape!! Car is a hide away headlight car which is all still in contact, just not working due to someone having the vacuum lines unhooked!! Someone just opened the hide aways and left it as that! The Gt tail lights all work and are also in great shape!! Like I said the car is in really great shape and would only need a little love to be back a really hot muscle car cruising the strip!!! Especially being a 4 speed car!!!! When I bought the car I put a brand new battery in it, both new battery cables, new starter, new spark plugs and like I said earlier brakes and all new wheel cylinders!!! Would be a great low budget cruiser for someone or an awesome, solid start for a show car for someone wanting a little more than just a daily driver!!!! For any questions please feel free to give me a call anytime, my cell phone number is 1-540-430-3741, Thanks!!

Total auto recalls already on record pace in 2014

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

If you've noticed that there have been more recalls than usual this year, you may be on to something. According to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the US market is on pace to break a record for recalls. In 2013, 22 million cars were recalled. We're only a third of the way through 2014, though, and we've already halved that figure, with 11 million units recalled. That's wild.
Considering the past few months, it shouldn't be a surprise that General Motors is leading the charge, with six million of the 11 million units recalled coming from one of the General's four brands. Between truck recalls, CUV recalls and the ignition switch recall, 2014 hasn't been a great year for GM.
Other recall leaders include Nissan (one million Sentra and Altima sedans), Honda (900,000 Odyssey minivans), Toyota (over one million units in a few recalls), Volkswagen (150,000 Passat sedans), Chrysler (644,000 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs) and most recently, Ford (434,000 units, the bulk of which were early Ford Escape CUVs). So while it's been a bad year for GM so far, its competitors aren't doing too well, either.

Ford jumps back in the water with marinized 6.2L V8

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Nameplates like the Mercury Mariner and Lincoln Navigator aside, Ford hasn't offered a marine engine in over two decades. But through a new partnership with one of the biggest names in the business, the Dearborn-based automaker is dipping its proverbial toes back in the water.
Announced yesterday at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the new partnership between Ford Component Sales and Indmar Marine Engines will see the 6.2-liter V8 from the F-150 SVT Raptor and F-Series Super Duty marinized for use in boats.
The largest privately owned inboard gasoline marine engine manufacturer in the world, Indmar has been in the business for 43 years, and figures the Ford V8 will be just what watersport enthusiasts are looking for to tow waterskiers and wakeboarders to their hearts' content.

Shelby GT500 laps N"urburgring in under 7:40?

Wed, 30 Oct 2013

A couple of weeks ago we brought you footage and official times of the new Chevy Camaro Z/28 lapping the Nürburgring. With a 7:37.47 lap time, the Z/28 emerged as the fastest muscle car ever to lap the circuit. But what was missing from that picture was how fast the king of all Mustangs, the Shelby GT500, could manage to lap the Nordschleife.
Ford never released any information or footage of the GT500 on the Nürburgring that we were aware of - that is, until the guys at SVTPerformance.com put in a request for Mustang videos. Among the clips they received was never-seen, in-car footage of the Shelby GT500 lapping the circuit. And boy did it hustle.
Although not quite official, the video seems to show the GT500 lapped the venerated German track in a touch under 7:40. That would make it a tick or two faster than the Camaro ZL1 - but what of the Z/28? By Chevy's quoted time, the Z/28 is still faster than the GT500, but SVTPerformance suggests GM may have fudged the numbers a bit and scrubbed half a second or so off their lap time.
