This is a rare car and will make a great restoration project for the experienced or newbie. This auction is for a 1969 Torino, Fairlane 500, fastback. The car is complete and has the number matching engine and transmission. The car currently does not run and I have not had the engine and tranny inspected by a shop. They are there, the numbers match and they appear complete. The car is sound for its age and does not have alot of cancer in it or much rust on the frame rails. The roof, quarters, and fenders appear solid. There is a bad spot on the passenger side door skin that will need repaired, and one on the rear deck on the passenger side. Both are not to hard to fix. The floors in the car have suface rust but dont appear to need any new metal, I have not looked in the trunk yet to see what its condition is. I am guessing that it is ok as all the seals on the car seem good. The doors are tight with no sag in them and open and shut smooth and firm. The hood opens and closes good but does have a small dent spot along the drivers side. The car is in Original condition with 90 percent of the trim for the car on it. The original motor is a 302, with an Automatic transmission. As stated I have not tried to start the car at all, I am sure it will need some sort of work but to get it going but am unsure of what it would take. All the gages and interior are there with the exception of the passenger side door pannel, I dont know where it went and will update the auction should I find it in the trunk later today when I go check. The car does have the Fairlane 500 badges, and has good options on it. If you need more info, pics, ect please feel free to give me a call, this is one of about 300 old cars and truckis that I will be listing for a friend of mine who used to own a salvage yard, my number is 360-295-0886 (Sean) Vader Automotive. I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime should I receive an acceptable offer as the car as it is for sale locally also. There are not many of these old fastbacks left, now is the time to buy and restore yours. To help save the new owner some money we may be able to deliver the car anywhere in the US as well as to any shipping port of call for overseas buyers, however, ALL Shipping costs are to be paid by the buyer. We would be at a lot cheaper rate then the shipping companys, but will need fuel and expenses covered. I will be taking more pictures later today and will add them tonight to the auction. Let me know what your looking for, we may just have it. Please don't call asking for parts, we do have a few that will be sold as parts cars but as a rule we don't sell parts. As I said above I will be listing several other classic project cars (and a couple restored ones) soon. a few of the are listed below, Thanks

Consumer Reports says Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevy are big winners in brand perception survey
Wed, 05 Feb 2014According to Consumer Reports, the automotive brands that stand out in the minds of car buyers are, in order: Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevrolet. This news comes after the magazine polled its readers, asking them to take into account vehicle quality, safety, performance, value, fuel economy, design/style, and technology/innovation - which are the factors that car shoppers are most influenced by.
It's important to note that this award is only about perception. In other words, it's perceived quality, not actual quality. "Often, perception can be a trailing indicator, reflecting years of good or bad performance in a category, and it can also be influenced by headlines in the media," said Jeff Bartlett, Consumer Reports deputy automotive editor.
The brand that made the biggest jump in perception amongst Consumer Reports readers is Tesla, which posted an impressive 47-point gain to finish in fifth place. Subaru is also notable for finishing in the top 10, despite being one of the smaller manufacturers doing business in the US. Scroll down below for all the details from Consumer Reports, if you're so inclined.
Ford Escort Concept goes back to basics
Fri, 19 Apr 2013Here's the thing about China: The folks buying cars there have a very different set of standards than shoppers in many other markets around the globe. While we all drool over hot metal with bold designs, and while we appreciate automakers going an extra step to inject even their cheapest offerings with aggressive and interesting cues, that sort of sheetmetal sex appeal doesn't always sell in the People's Republic. Case in point is Jaguar, which may be designing a more traditional-looking version of its XJ for the Chinese market, or more to the point of this story, Ford currently sells the less-exciting, last-generation Focus compact in China right alongside the new one.
So consider this new Shanghai-bound C-segment concept a preview of what's to come for that more traditional, budget-minded, less-sexy market. More proof of this pudding: Ford's even calling this concept the Escort - a nod to the Blue Oval's compact car days of yore, and a name that stirs up thoughts of basic, affordable transportation rather than great driving dynamics or bold design. "Customers in China described seeking a vehicle that is stylish - but not one that is arrogant or pretentious," Ford states. And this new Escort concept previews a possibility of providing exactly that for this rapidly expanding automotive market.
What you're looking at, then, is one of the most simple Ford designs we've seen of late, though it still incorporates all of the automaker's latest DNA. The signature hexagonal grille is front and center, flanked by attractive LED headlamps and chrome-rimmed foglamp housings. The entire car's design focuses on clean, smooth surfaces, with one strong character line flowing from front to back just below the beltline. We will say that the car looks decidedly more premium from the rear view, where narrow, horizontal taillamps with an LED accent give the car added visual width. Bland as it may be, it's a handsome little concept, though fear what would likely happen if all of the conceptual details get dumbed down for a production model.
Ford readying three-row Edge for China
Fri, Nov 21 2014The next-generation Ford Edge will be available with quite a growth spurt for its debut in China next year, with newly announced plans also to build and sell a three-row version exclusively in the People's Republic. However, markets outside of there likely won't see the larger model. Ford marketing boss (and future head of Ford of Europe) Jim Farley announced the three-row version of the crossover at the Los Angeles Auto Show, according to Automotive News. To create the extra room, Ford made the Chinese-built variant about 16 inches longer than its two-row counterpart. Farley didn't specify at which of the Blue Oval's plants in the country this model would be assembled. The Explorer and forthcoming Everest already offer three rows from the Ford lineup in China, but the company thinks the market can easily support all of them. According to Farley to Automotive News, the utility segment is up 485 percent in the country since 2008. Customers in the US can still look forward to the two-row Edge hitting dealers early next year. It'll be the first model in the Blue Oval's lineup here to come standard with EcoBoost power.
