THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!   ATRUE COBRA WITH A 428CJ AND RAM AIR!

1969 TORINO COBRA RAM AIR 428CJ SPORTSROOF (FASTBACK)

They actuuly just sold these cars as Cobras, but most know them as torino cobras.

This is a factory R code (ram air) with factory bucket seats factory C6 Transmission. This is a very solid car. I would call it a survivor , as it has not been restored completely. This is a great opportunity to own a Factory Big Block Muscle Car at a low price. This is not rusted and is very cool driven as is. The patina is something that is very desirable these days like you see on Fast N Loud. I have been driving it like this for months and I get looks and thumbs up everywhere I go. It certainly is deserving of new paint if you so desire. The quarters, doors and fenders all are rust free with no sign of bubbling or signs of pior rust repair. There are signs of normal dings and scrapes of a 44 year old car. Compared to most this would be an easy and straight forward repaint. There is a  tiny bit of rust on the original truck lid and that is it. The other areas these cars seem to suffer are all in EXCELLENT condition. The floors, frame rails, torque boxes and fender aprons, rockers are all in great condition. The interior is in EXCELLENT condition as well. The Factory bucket seats are new, the dash pad excellent, carpet, excellent. ALL lights work even directional lights in hood scoop, original  factory AM radio works with heater, blower, all gauges, original horns work steering wheel and horn rim  glove box dash lights all work. It has the proper interior door panels great shape remote mirror that works back seat perfect package tray has the factory speaker grills. The only thing the interior does not have is the headliner. (I have it but I never installed it because I think it looks cool without it. (again "Fast N Loud" ish The dome light is there and works.

This is an "R" code 428 Cobra Jet car as per the VIN and Marti Report As such it came from factory Equipped with Ram Air The snorkel, Flapper, seal are all there and in excellent condition. The 428 CJ runs excellent and has been rebuilt. It has a lot of torque! The valve covers were pulled for inspection the valve springs appear to be new, it has a larger cam in it and has a nice lope to the idle. The heads are the correct CJ C8OE-N and the intake manifold is proper C8OE as well. The car currently has older aftermarket headers and exhaust. (I would put on the factory manifolds on myself) you can find them.  The COBRA JET specific C6 Transmission is still equipped with the "R" Servo and Cast Iron Tailshaft Housing. It goes into gear fast and shifts properly. The brakes work well and stops straight. the factory power steering works properly and still has its COBRA JET specific Oil cooler.

This is an honest solid car with  a BIG BLOCK CJ 428. It runs excellent and drives well. this car is worthy of any time and investment you choose to make and will reward you with some serious value when you are done. Look at the NADA value!

I bought this car several months ago I drove it and drive it often. It is very cool. I worked on the interior and the ram air and had a blast with it. I should hold on to it, tinker with it  maybe paint it and be happy. But that is not what I do! I will let someone else do what they want and I will move on to something else. It really is cool! This car has spent it life on the West coast it was sold to a dealer in OR I bought it and had it shipped from Washington State.

In the pictures you will see the right front fender had some body work in the front and the trim is missing. I got the proper fender with the trim piece and directional light. I did not put it on the car  It will go with the car to the new owner. Very reasonable price for what this car is. Buy it have fun with it and watch the value go up. Ask me any questions. It will sell to the highest bidder after my starting bid.

Ford sued over alleged 3.5-liter EcoBoost defects

Thu, 16 May 2013

Three Ford owners from Ohio have filed a lawsuit against the automaker over defects that they allege exist within the company's twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine. Automotive News reports that the lawsuit claims the engine "contained serious latent design, manufacturing, or assembly defects." Those defects, the suit claims, cause the vehicle to shake, misfire and lose power quickly.
Two of the plaintiffs, a married couple, own a 2010 Ford Taurus SHO, and allege they experienced a loss of power and stalling, while the third, an F-150 owner, claims he lost power while accelerating. In addition to the Taurus SHO and F-150, the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine is also available in the Ford Flex, Explorer Sport and Lincoln MKT and MKS. Other three- and four-cylinder EcoBoost engines are not included in the suit. There have been no recalls associated with 3.5-liter V6 engine, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is currently not investigating the matter.
The plaintiffs, however, claim Ford has known about the problem, citing several technical service bulletins issued to dealers of the F-150 that suggest possible fixes. Ford had no comment for Automotive News, saying that it's yet to review the lawsuit, which was filed last Friday in Columbus, OH.

Watch how Ford torture-tested the 2015 F-150

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

The Ford F-150 has been the best-selling truck in the United States for the past 37 years, and the best-selling vehicle outright for the past 32. That's quite a legacy, and thus, it's no surprise that Ford worked super-duper-extra hard on creating the all-new, aluminum-bodied 2015 F-150 that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
During an event at the company's headquarters in Dearborn, MI this week, we were able to see all of the ways that Ford endurance tests, not just the new F-150, but all of its vehicles. From examining things like light exposure to interior materials and paint finishes, to making sure that corrosion absolutely does not happen when steel components come in contact with aluminum panels in the new truck. The goal: ensure that the new F-150 is nothing short of "Built Ford Tough."
But that's only a small part of the story. Of course, the new F-150 has to be able to withstand whatever a pickup buyer might throw at it - and truck buyers arguably demand the most from their vehicles. So in an effort to convey just what the new F-150 had to go through before being given the final go-ahead, Ford has released a series of videos, showing how its new halo truck was indeed torture tested.

Ford's Galhotra succeeds Farley as head of Lincoln

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

Ford Motor Company is announcing a major personnel shakeup that could have a dramatic effect on the future of the Lincoln division. Kumar Galhotra (pictured above), currently vice president of engineering at Ford for all of its vehicles worldwide, is taking over as the president of the luxury brand on September 1, replacing Jim Farley. The automaker is also hiring a new head of advanced engineering.
Galhotra has a huge job ahead of him as the new boss of Lincoln worldwide, overseeing product development, marketing, sales and service. His task is to turn the luxury division into a world-class brand as quickly as possible, and he reports directly to Ford President and CEO Mark Fields.
"These changes underscore our commitment to build on the success of our One Ford plan by accelerating our pace of progress. They also make clear we are serious about Lincoln as a world-class luxury brand and that product excellence and innovation are what will deliver growth and define our entire company going forward," said Fields in the company's announcement.
