True Sports Roadster per the Thunderbird Patent Plate located on left door pillar. Original documented mileage 76,523. Restoration completed August 2013. Original diamond blue exterior done in base coat/clear coat. New light blue metallic vinyl interior including all new foam, all new seat covers and new carpet. All interior panels removed and painted in original factory correct colors. New power brake booster, master cylinder, spark plugs, spark plug wires, Pertronix ignition and coil. Not an "M" code, however, equipped with Ford/FE intake and triple Holley carburetors (redone by a Ford/FE carburetor professional), and original Thunderbird air cleaner assembly. Ford chrome valve covers, master brake cylinder cover, power steering reservoir cover, oil filler cap and radiator cap. Front bumper re-chromed. New steering idler arm, ball joints and brake cylinders. Cold AC. Ford AM-FM radio (not working). New top and liner. All new seals: doors, top, hood and trunk. New correct Burtex trunk liner. New Hankook radial tires and tubes. New power top pump, hydraulic hoses and several relays. Power top "over ride system" installed by JNM Performance who also did all mechanical work. New power window motors. New battery. All systems and accessories work as they should. Car is for sale locally, therefore I maintain the right to end this auction at any time.

Ford's Galhotra succeeds Farley as head of Lincoln
Wed, 23 Jul 2014Ford Motor Company is announcing a major personnel shakeup that could have a dramatic effect on the future of the Lincoln division. Kumar Galhotra (pictured above), currently vice president of engineering at Ford for all of its vehicles worldwide, is taking over as the president of the luxury brand on September 1, replacing Jim Farley. The automaker is also hiring a new head of advanced engineering.
Galhotra has a huge job ahead of him as the new boss of Lincoln worldwide, overseeing product development, marketing, sales and service. His task is to turn the luxury division into a world-class brand as quickly as possible, and he reports directly to Ford President and CEO Mark Fields.
"These changes underscore our commitment to build on the success of our One Ford plan by accelerating our pace of progress. They also make clear we are serious about Lincoln as a world-class luxury brand and that product excellence and innovation are what will deliver growth and define our entire company going forward," said Fields in the company's announcement.
Forza Horizon G-Shock Car Pack brings Nissan IDx, Subaru Brat [w/video]

The latest six-car G-Shock pack for Forza Horizon 2 on the Xbox One is now here, and it gives players a very eclectic group of vehicles to race around the game's open world. This month's group of vehicles spans the decades ranging from 2015 back to 1953. The newest and only concept of the group is the 2015 Nissan IDX Nismo. Since the production chances for this retro coupe look increasingly slim, this game might be your only chance to get behind the concept's wheel. However, if you prefer driving something a bit more classic and Italian, the 1953 Ferrari 500 Mondial is available. To add one more flavor of performance, there is the 2010 Mazda Mazdasped 3 hot hatch, which is also this month's free car for download. In addition to three takes on the sports car, Turn 10 is also offering a trio of off-roaders. The quirkiest among them is the 1980 Subaru Brat GL, which features two jump seats in the back to avoid the dreaded chicken tax. If you prefer something more boxy and American, then the 1975 Ford Bronco is sure to please. Finally, for some real power to get through the mud, there's the 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor as tuned by Shelby with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 making 575 horsepower. As usual, the whole pack costs players $5 to download, or it's free as part of the season pass. Car companies used to cook up sales with recipe books
Fri, 08 Aug 2014The evolution of automotive marketing has undergone a number of strange phases. Few, though, match the strangeness of the 1930s to 1950s, when automotive marketers turned to cookbooks as a means of promoting their vehicles. Yes, cookbooks. We can't make this stuff up, folks.
This bizarre trend led to General Motors distributing cookbooks under the guise of its then-subsidiary Frigidaire. Ford, meanwhile, offered a compilation of recipes from Ford Credit Employees (shown above). The cookbook-craze wasn't limited to domestic manufacturers, though. As The Detroit News discovered, both Rolls-Royce and Volkswagen got in on the trend, although not until the 1970s.
