- - - DESCRIPTION - - - I’m listing this 1958 Ford Thunderbird for my friend's father named Robert. He's had the car for many years, maintained and drove the car only to shows. The “Interceptor” Thunderbird Special V-8 352 Cubic inch, 4- Barrel, Carburetor, Dual Exhaust engine is tuned and runs very smooth. The correct Cruise-O-Matic (3-speed Automatic) transmission shifts smooth through all the gears. The body is in very good condition and only has some minor rust with minor chips. The stainless and chrome is all in good condition. The correct style red and white vinyl interior is in great shape and it has front seat belts. The underside of the vehicle is original. The floors are firm and strong. This Thunderbird is a great car to drive, very well equipped with factory power steering, factory power windows, and Coker Classic White Wall Tires. Note: The details were all given by the owner and not by me. How does it drive? Very Smooth and Strong, During this summer it made the 150 mile round trip to Key West with outside temperatures in the high 90’s. Ford set to target pre-school market with next F-150 variant
Tue, Jun 17 2014How do you build a strong group of loyalists from the next generation of American drivers? You start em' young. Ford has taken that lesson to heart, as we can see in the first batch of images of the company's new entry to the pre-school market, the Power Wheels F-150. This particular example was caught returning from testing around Ford's base of operations in Dearborn, MI – covered in tiny little bits of camouflage, too. Now, this could very well end up being a collaboration between Power Wheels and Ford. Then again, it could just be some bored engineers that decided to troll the local congregation of spy photographers, who earlier today captured images of the next Focus RS and SVT Mustang. Tue, 23 Apr 2013Just a few months ago, fan safety at racetracks was a hot topic following the last-lap NASCAR Nationwide Series crash at Daytona that sent large pieces of racecars into the grandstands injuring 33 fans. Now, a freak incident at a National Hot Rod Association event resulted in a drag racer's bodywork flying into the crowd at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte over the weekend. The carbon-fiber body of Robert Hight's Ford Mustang funny car blew off toward the end of a run when his engine exploded, but fortunately, the two fans evaluated after the incident were later released without serious injury.
As you can see in the image above, the body flew high into the air before landing on a walkway in front of the grandstands, a bit of happenstance that likely gave most fans enough time and space to move out of the way. Scroll down to watch a couple of videos showing what happened, including one from a fan's perspective that also reveals what appears to be part of the body's metal bracing landing dangerously close to the crowd.
