Ford Thunderbird Convertible on 2040-cars
Eden, Utah, United States
1960 Ford Thunderbird Convertible. I have a clear, original, Utah title in my name. Please look closely at all of the photos. This is a classic "Square Bird" that needs a complete restoration. It has been sitting for several years. With this in mind, I want to explain what is needed. I want the new owner to know exactly what they are getting. First the good - 1. The original drive train is in the car and the engine appears to be in good shape. The radiator has been removed, but comes with the car. 2. The car is very complete, but many of the trim pieces will need chrome work. 3. The floors are not rusted through and the trunk floor is in good shape. 4. The hard to find parts for the convertible top are complete, but need work. 5. The car rolls freely and can be loaded easily on a trailer or transport truck. On the negative side - 1. The car has been sitting for several years and doesn't currently run. 2. There is rust in the rockers that will need repair as well as some bondo cracking on the driver's side rear fender. 3. The interior is complete, but needs a complete restoration. The dash pad is dirty, but not cracked. 4. The convertible top is tattered, and the power mechanism will need repair. 5. It is missing the spare tire. 6. The windshield has scratches from the wiper blade.Again, please look closely at all of the photos. I highly value my 100% positive feedback score on Ebay, and I want the new owner to be satisfied with the car. I'm not a car dealer. I have too many Thunderbird projects and I don't have the time or funds to restore this car. The reserve is substantially less than cars value.
If you have any questions about my 1960 Thunderbird convertible, please email them to me or give me a call. My home phone number is (801) 745-0599. If you have less than 5 positive feedbacks on your Ebay feedback score, please email me before bidding. I want this to be a good, straightforward, auction. Good luck bidding and I hope someone will restore this classic Thunderbird back to its former glory. On Mar-13-14 at 19:07:30 PDT, seller added the following information: A $250.00 PayPal Deposit is required within 24 hours of the auction closing. |

J Mays on the 2015 Ford Mustang
Thu, 05 Dec 2013J Mays, head of design at Ford, may be retiring from the company after 16 years, but not before showing the world his swan song: the 2015 Mustang. Ford officially revealed its new coupe and convertible to the public at events around the world on Thursday, including a live unveiling on ABC's Good Morning America, and Mays was in attendance at the automaker's home event in Dearborn, MI, which is where we caught up with him for a few words about his new baby.
"It's a joy" to design the Mustang, Mays told Autoblog, adding that this sixth-generation coupe is his "favorite design so far." Of course, the 2015 model takes cues from all of the generations that came before it, but Mays said it was important to edit down the specific elements from previous models, leaving just enough off to let the customer "participate and fill in the blanks."
"If it doesn't sell itself, you probably aren't a Mustang fan."
Ford celebrating 80 years of Aussie utes as it prepares to shutter Oz manufacturing
Wed, 26 Feb 2014Ford is ending Australian production after 90 years in 2016, and with it may go perhaps the most iconic vehicles in its auto market - the ute. Car-based pickup trucks like the Ford Ranchero and Chevrolet El Camino were always more of a curiosity than a true market force here, but in Australia, they have long proven hugely popular.
As the legend goes, Ford invented the niche after a farmer's wife had asked Ford Australia's managing director for a more utilitarian car. Her request was simple: "My husband and I can't afford a car and a truck but we need a car to go to church on Sunday and a truck to take the pigs to market on Monday. Can you help?"
Ford's design team came up with a two-passenger, enclosed, steel coupe body with glass windows and a steel-paneled, wooden-frame load area in the rear. The sides of the bed were blended into the body to make it look more unified, and to keep costs down, the front end and interior were based on the Ford Model 40 five-window coupe. Power came from a V8 with shifting chores handled by a three-speed manual. Within a year, the new vehicle was ready, and production began in 1934. Lead designer Lewis Bandt christened it the coupe-utility.
Ford set to target pre-school market with next F-150 variant
Tue, Jun 17 2014How do you build a strong group of loyalists from the next generation of American drivers? You start em' young. Ford has taken that lesson to heart, as we can see in the first batch of images of the company's new entry to the pre-school market, the Power Wheels F-150. This particular example was caught returning from testing around Ford's base of operations in Dearborn, MI – covered in tiny little bits of camouflage, too. Now, this could very well end up being a collaboration between Power Wheels and Ford. Then again, it could just be some bored engineers that decided to troll the local congregation of spy photographers, who earlier today captured images of the next Focus RS and SVT Mustang. Whatever it is, it's pretty darn cool. Take a look up top for images of the new Power Wheels F-150.
