A True Survivor!!!!!!!! Only 13,xxx Miles!!!!!! on 2040-cars

US $9,995.00
Year:1975 Mileage:13898
Location:

Available for addition to your Classic Ford Collection is a super low mileage 1975 Thunderbird in a very attractive red with black interior combo. 1975 was the 20th anniversary for the Thunderbird ! This Bird was brought from a Thunderbird enthusiast that had it in proper storage. This car has only 13,xxx miles on the all original and powerful (? !) 460ci engine and automatic transmission. The body wears 80+% of it's original paint. The hood was, from the best we can tell, the only thing that has been repainted due to being "egged" when the car was new. The passenger door skin is dented but has no paint cracking (looks like someone heavy leaned on door to close it and bowed the panel) . You may be able to push it out if the inside door trim panel is removed. The hood has some age cracking and clouding in it that is visible only upon close inspection. The second area of mention is a small chip the size of a pencil eraser on the top of the rear quarter panel just behind the drivers door. The beautiful example of a 1975 Thunderbird has been examined by a quallified automative service technician and is ready to drive anywhere. The Technician did suggest a set of plug wires due to them being the OE 1975 factory wires (still numbered) but we hated to change anything that was not a must on such a low mileage example. All fluids have been changed and the carburetor has been rebuilt. A new set of tires were installed due to age. Power windows, Door Locks, Cruise, and all work as designed as well as all other accessories. The Air Cond. worked great when put in storage, but may need to be top'd off this spring. Bid now to own this Rare low mile example of old American iron. Please contact for additional information needed.

Next Ford F-150 delayed for aluminum body panel issues?

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

The timetable for next-generation Ford F-150 may be in trouble if a report from The Truth About Cars is true. The next F-150 is slated to make extensive use of weight-saving aluminum in its body, but the aluminum alloy provided by suppliers hasn't met Ford's requirements in the earliest phases of pre-production, according to the report.
The F-150 represents a huge portion of Ford's profits and is the best-selling truck in the US, even in the face of increased pressure from cross-town rivals General Motors and Ram. While the current truck is treading water against its competition, we'd be lying if we said the F-150 weren't growing quite long in the tooth.
If production of the next-generation of the Ford cash cow, said to be based on the Atlas Concept from the 2013 Detroit Auto Show (pictured above), is delayed, it could be bad for Ford. Production at Ford's Dearborn Truck Plant is already set to be delayed six to ten weeks, missing an internal on-sale deadline of Memorial Day.

2015 Ford F-150 configurator is ready to go to work

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

Ford is inching towards the on-sale date for the eagerly anticipated, aluminum F-150 pickup. While we're preparing to drive the new truck (expect our take on it sooner rather than later), the best-seller has reached another, albeit more minor, milestone as its online configurator has officially been switched on.
We took to Ford's consumer website to mess about with it and see just how ridiculous of a truck we can build. Among the fun things we discovered were these two nuggets - the most expensive truck we could configure was not the top-end Platinum model, but instead the King Ranch, which rang up at $65,955. The other exciting discovery? The new truck would be available in a questionable shade called Blue Jeans (shown above with the optional contrasting Caribou paint). Yep, Blue Jeans.
You can head over to Ford's consumer page and build your very own aluminum F-150 now. Take a look.

Ward's reveals annual 10 Best Engines list for 2013

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

Ward's Auto has released its annual 10 Best Engines award winners. The 2013 list covers the full width and breadth of the internal combustion spectrum, from a spate of efficient four-cylinders to the most powerful production V8 on the planet. As always, the entries must be available in a production vehicle in the first quarter of 2013 with an MSRP of less than $55,000. The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 from the Audi S5 held on for the fourth consecutive year, and BMW earned two spots on the list with its turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder and turbo 3.0-liter inline-six.
Ford pulled in two awards for its 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and and the supercharged 5.8-liter V8 from the Shelby GT500. Honda matched BMW and Ford with two wins of its own. Wards awarded the 2.4-liter four-cylinder from the Honda Accord Sport as well as the 3.5-liter V6 from the Honda Accord. Chrysler, General Motors and Subaru each garnered a spot on the list as well for the 3.6-liter V6 in the Ram 1500, the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the Cadillac ATS and the 2.0-liter four-cylinder the Subaru BRZ, respectively.
