1962 FORD THUNDERBIRD LANDAU
I am pleased to offer this spectacular 1962 Ford Thunderbird Landau. This Thunderbird has 54000 original miles as documented by the former owner. It is a correct A code Raven black car. I normally start describing the cosmetics at this juncture but I am so impressed with the splendid driving characteristics of the Thunderbird I just felt I needed to tell you that first. I drove the car at least 75 miles this weekend with the music playing and the cold A/C blowing on me. What a great ride and attention getter. The exterior of this car is simply beautiful. It has awesome chrome and beautiful detail. The black paint is killer nice. The wire wheels add a nice retro touch and are true knock off wheels. The Landau roof appears to be flawless. All of the glass is excellent. The fender skirts are in the trunk along with the correct jack, lug iron and even the tire wedge. You will also see a plaque that says this Thunderbird was best in its class at an all Ford show. That’s very telling. Inside is in excellent condition as the pictures testify. I could not get the power seat to move but you can hear the motor engaging. All of the gauges function. Overall I would rate this car a 9.5 but I am prejudiced as it is currently mine. KY bidders will add 6% usage tax and $199 transfer/doc fees. Out of state residents will add $128 to cover title fees, mailing costs, temporary tags, etc. Contact to be made by winning bidder within business 24 hours and a minimum partial payment to be made within 72 hours of auction end. The partial payment is non-refundable, unless we fail to deliver the goods as described. Balance will be due within 7 business days of the close of the auction. A new report from Mustangs Daily, citing insider sources at Ford, tells us that the Blue Oval will produce 1,000 next-generation Mustangs with the model year designation of 2014 ½, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the storied marque. The commemorative half-year designation is a rumor that's been swirling in Mustang forums for quite some time now, and seems more plausible than ever with this most recent report. Certainly it's not far-fetched to believe that Ford will want to make a big deal of the golden anniversary for its most-loved model.
The story (compiled by Drew Phillips, who runs the aforementioned Mustang site when he's not directing the photography on these pages) goes on to say that the limited-run cars will be the first built on the new Mustang platform internally known as S550 (and spied testing in the attached gallery). Each car is said to carry a "special" VIN and build number, though no performance upgrades versus the 2015 cars to follow are in the works. A collector's dream then, rather than a weekend racer's.

What looks to be the next Ford Edge has been leaked in an apparent corporate Powerpoint presentation deck. Despite the thumbnail image's blurry and pixelated quality, it appears as if the next generation crossover will be staying close to its current aesthetic despite an all-new front clip with redesigned grille, headlamps, and lower fascia with integrated fog lights.
The upscale-minded Blue Oval CUV is due for a redesign in 2015, having just received a mid-cycle refresh for 2011. It isn't clear what changes lie beneath the new skin, either in terms of mechanicals or interior refinement, but we suspect Ford will be looking to put some distance between the next generation model and the new Escape, which is suddenly much more car-like and not that far off the more expensive Edge in terms of overall size, power or refinement.

Yesterday, the Ford Mustang turned 49 years old, and Ford didn't miss the opportunity to celebrate the one millionth version of the Mustang rolling off the assembly line at the Flat Rock Assembly plant. Production of the Mustang at Flat Rock coincided with the fifth-generation design launching in 2004, and the one millionth car was the car shown above, a 2014 GT convertible painted in Ruby Red.
In total, Ford has sold more than 8.5 million Mustangs since the original car went on sale, but some of the key milestones over the car's nine years at Flat Rock include the Shelby GT-H, Bullitt, Boss 302 and, of course, the 662-horsepower Shelby GT500.
