I bought this as a little spring project but it just was not in the cards for me right now

Runs & drives but will need some work to be a daily driver

3.8 Supercharged v6, 5 sp manual (hard to find)

Brand New struts/springs installed 2/13

what it needs:

- power steering pump (pump works but pulley wobbles which is tearing up the serpentine belt)

- electronic climate control panel (blower works)

- tune up

- odometer does not work (stopped at 077XXX)

- some interior pieces including plastic bezel around guages, power antenna switch & radio

the engine runs well but will puff some smoke on occasion, the smoke smells like old gas (the car sat in storage for god knows how long before i purchased it)

but the more i drive it the less it smokes, the last time i ran it it didnt smoke at all..

the clutch lets out high but does not slip, 3rd gear grinds a bit but still works fine

power windows/sunroof/locks all work as they should

power seats need reconnected (seats were out of it at one time)

the body is straight & rust free but does need paint

tires hold air but are dry rotted & will need replaced

exhaust has a leak up toward the catalytic converter but is complete

this is everything i know about the car at this point, ive only put maybe 25 miles on it in the time ive owned it

its really a solid old super coupe, will make a great driver with alittle work.

Ford Mustang was almost 'Imported from Detroit'

The Ford Mustang achieved iconic status nearly the moment the sheet came off at the 1964 World's Fair. And if Henry Ford II wasn't getting divorced around that time, the pony car might have been called the Torino and been marketed as 'Imported from Detroit,' according to Automotive News. We'll explain. During research for the new book Once in a Great City: A Detroit Story, author David Maraniss found an interesting connection between Chrysler's (now FCA US) slogan and the Ford Mustang. Before the pony car even had a name, the Blue Oval's advertising agency had the idea to market it as a "brand new import ... from Detroit," according to Automotive News. The vehicle would be sold as "inspired by Italy's great road cars, but straight from Detroit." The name Torino was suggested, as well. However, the real world interfered in making the Mustang Detroit's first import. According to the author, Henry Ford II was getting a divorce, and his future wife was Italian. It was therefore thought to be a bad idea to sell the future pony car as being from Italy. Things clearly changed by the time the Torino hit the streets years later. Related Video:

Ford Transit Skyliner Concept does discreet luxury in NYC

There's something to be said for luxed-out vans. They're cool, and as a means of getting chauffeured about, they're extremely comfortable and far more low key than your typical executive luxury sedan. For the 2014 New York Auto Show, Galpin Auto Sports has shown the potential of the new-for-the-US Ford Transit as an ultra-luxurious people hauler.
The Transit Skyliner Concept, which we previewed last week, sports four finely crafted captain's buckets that can be moved into different formations based on need. Want to watch a movie? The seats can be swung around to face a 52-inch screen. Riding along with some business associates? A table can be popped up. There's even a configuration for tailgating.
The materials are, unsurprisingly, pretty plush. The leather seats and wood floors (yes, wood floors in a van) look great, while the trunk and its customized luggage are a nice touch, as well.
