Listing my Silver Anniversary Bird for sale. These were mid year special cars produced to celebrate 25 years of T Birds. They only made 1623 of them so it is a pretty rare car, combine that with this car having a factory sunroof and you are nearing one of a kind. This car has all the special badging for the anniversary cars from the carriage lights to trunk emblem to the simulated crystal cut hood emblem. The interior is the plush velour with the extra deep cut pile carpet with burlwood dash trim and the leather wrapped steering wheel. The car had 73xxx miles on it when we bought it and the only miles on it since then were the miles I put on it driving it home from the middle of the country. I brought it home and put it in my garage with about a dozen other birds and that was it. I have now decided I want to get a Vette so I am clearing out my T-Birds to do so. This car is about as original as the day it left Ford back in 1980. If you have any questions or would like some other pictures just ask and I can do that. This is listed with a reserve but depending on where it goes in my search for another toy and where the bids go I might consider a high bid at end. I don't need or want any trade unless it is a corvette, then I might be interested. here are the options on the car 302 V8 with automatic overdrive a/c (unsure if works) power windows, door locks, 6 way power drivers seat power antenna tilt wheel with cruise control keyless entry auto headlights with cornering lights illuminated entry dual remote mirrors digital dash(fuel guage has issue) am/fm cassette with premium sound built in factory cb radio built in factory garage door opener factory flip up or pull out moonroof with storage bag TRX suspension package with Michelin TRX wheels, black walls on the car and another complete set of wheels with the Michelin whitewalls. Very expensive! This car is very presentable and an amazing original example, that being said it does have its stone chips and such as it was a driven 3 owner car. |

Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014
Thu, 27 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.
Volvo to shake off Ford ties with new platforms, engines

It would seem Volvo is finally getting around to throwing all of Ford's things out of the apartment. Automotive News reports the Swedish automaker is preparing to unleash a range of new engines as well as a fresh platform designed entirely in house. The powerplants include an all-new four-cylinder engine set to bow before the end of this year before arriving in the US by 2014. Shortly thereafter, the world should get its first glimpse at the next-generation XC60, which will the company's first model to make use of the Volvo scalable platform architecture (SPA). US buyers can expect to see that machine on their roads by early 2015.
The next V70 and S80 will also use the SPA, though those models will carry V90 and S90 designations when they hit dealer floors. But that doesn't mean Volvo has completely weened itself off of Ford technology. The V40 will continue to ride on Ford bones until the model's next chassis can be co-developed between Volvo and Geely.
Brits recreate iconic Bullitt chase scene
Tue, 13 May 2014Recreating the famous chase scene from Bullitt has become almost an art form in its own right. We've seen it done in a music video, with scale models and even in commercials. There are few films that are as defined by a single scene as the 1968 classic. Even if you don't know a single beat of the plot, the Highland Green Ford Mustang racing a Dodge Charger through the hilly streets of San Francisco is famous. It's so well known that the Silverstone Classic has created a homage to promote its celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang at this year's event in July.
Filmed around the famous UK circuit, the short film generally gets the key points of the scene right. It even has a green Volkswagen Beetle that keeps reappearing, as in the movie. Unfortunately, its Steve McQueen stand-in looks a little too old for the role. While the video shortens the chase considerably, it's still great to see these '60s behemoths leaning and sliding around the track.
